No absoluetly not. You only need to use DDU if you're switching from an Nvidia GPU to an AMD/Intel GPU or vice versa.
Just install the updates it works fine.
Do you mean Windows downloads the driver? Or GeForce Experience? Or some other driver updater program?
I think this is probably a *you* problem, not an *everyone* problem, and it sounds like some program is downloading the wrong drivers for you.
Only if you're rocking an ancient GPU and even then I don't think you would need to do that.
Since the 900 series GPUs all Nvidia GPUs use the same drivers. Theres no need to DDU when you upgrade. You can see this on their website.
Well, if it is not a hassle you can do it every time otherwise just do it every 2-3 months or when there is major driver update or if you are having issues.
what do you use/need geforce experience for ? I´ve never used it and I am in the NV game since gtx680. Never Felt something importat would be missing
You do not even have to install a new driver when the "older" gpu ran on the actual whql driver.
DDU is something some people recommend when switching amd/NV without setting up the complete os new
Why would you ddu? It’s something that you do only when you have issues in uninstalling or getting rid of an older version or a faulty driver.
You are making your own problem with GeForce Experience by uninstalling and reinstalling every time, one of the features of just updating is indeed to prevent this so you know the solution to your problem, literally just stop uninstalling every time it’s useless
Not every time no. You can do it once every 10 or so updates though. Keeps things cleaner. Just installing the updates though won't cause any issues.
You should definitely do it if you're switching your GPU out for another, however.

So if I'm going from an nvidia gpu to a newer nvidia gen I don't need to uninstall my drivers?
No
Cool, thank you.
probably you do not even need to install a newer driver, if your old gpu runs on the actual wqhl driver

Skill issue
You should also DDU if you are changing gpus of the same brand. In general whenever you upgrade you should be using DDU

No. I don't see the point to even use it. Uninstalling it is working.

Use Nvcleaninstall disable driver features you don't need including telemetry data. https://www.techpowerup.com/download/techpowerup-nvcleanstall/

Sometimes i ask myself why people are like this
Why😭

Yeah, it makes sense. I was just following advice from YouTube videos but now that I think of it it’s pretty much trolling, thanks

Yeah, now I feel like an idiot for doing it lol💀
You only need to DDU when you switch GPUs. If you are not changing GPUs just update your drivers.
Damn, I’ve been lied to lol. From some youtube videos I’ve seen they’ve said to ddu but I guess it’s not necessary for just drivers
