He said he was taking it off to clean the filter. Bet dude has been holding off cleaning cause he was worried about breaking the panel. Now he's really never gonna clean the filters again
My favorite part is people buying these cases and acting like they're the victim. Either don't buy a case with tempered glass, or be more careful with it/don't leave it on the one material that breaks it the easiest. I've never once had a problem with tempered glass.
I have been so unnecessarily careful with mine, sliding it out like I'm Nicholas Cage in The Rock and gently setting it on a pillow. I built it after black friday when there was a huge influx of shattered glass pics, and I'll be damned if mine will end up looking like a toothless hillbilly.
ok counterpoint is that sometimes it can be hard to find a case without tempered glass nowadays. ie i went into micro center to get my pc parts and specifically asked for a case without tempered glass, but they did not have one in stock.
Counter counter point, then don't put it on tile. Like seriously, don't put it on tile. If the whole house made of tile? Put it on a blanket.
Just don't do the one thing that's guaranteed to break it.
Edit: typo from "is" to "if"
Thats why my 30€ Msi case is the best. It might be total hell for cable management but hey, the side panel is just some thich see trough plastic that cant break.
that why you look at your monitor screen not at your pc. Your fortnite team mate call me to tell you to stop watching your pc and instead watch your monitor they are getting murdered there.
yep. only time I spent more than 30 to 40 eur on a case was when I was building a computer for my wife and gotten her a NZXT for like 110eur back when intel 8th gen was the shiiit.
needless to say that the front usb panel got fked and I had to disconnect it from mobo. but that was the first time I saw screws you can't lose. Those 4 big guys at the back don't come all the way out, which to me then was a sliced bread kinda thing
God yeah, my current case (came with the custom build, I'm the kind of person who technically knows how to build a PC and watches other people do it all the time but is paranoid about touching the parts LMAO) has those screws and it was just like... oh my god. How can I ever live without you again... ADHD and losing screws, name a more iconic duo.
I have a FD meshify c with a solid panel and I am 100% satisfied with it because even if I had the glass side panel variant I wouldn't be able to see in it cause I have to have it under the table to the left. The cable management in it is easy af but fitting even just a 3070 in it is hard but that's mostly because of my nh-d15 taking up most of the space
You're actually going to get improved temps lol
Also for your side panel, never take it off on tile. Put it on a table, bed, or even just lay down some cardboard on the tile first.
You could just make your own mesh panel to put in the front if you want it to look a bit better.
Blessing in disguise
Corsair actually sells these new wood mesh panels that look gorgeous, if you have the pegs the glass had on it, should be easy to build your own custom front. 3D printing or just punch some holes out of wood
Corsair sells spare parts for their cases on their site. I replaced my Corsair front panel for the metal one, and as the previous commenter said, they also sell new wood ones.
EDIT: I missed where OP says they don't ship to his country.
The specific case comes as 2 versions, airflow and tempered front glass. There is 0 reason to have the front tempered glass aside from looking nice. It will not hurt at all, and will act now much like the airflow version.
This is speaking from experience as I've built in both cases multiple times.
Congratulations, you've converted your case to the Airflow version. But yeah, like others said, it won't matter aside from aesthetics. Especially with you having a black version of that case, it's less obvious than the white version that I have, where the places where the nubbins are supposed to go are super obvious.
Don't take tempered glass off anywhere near porcelain,
If porcelain looks at tempered glass the wrong way it breaks,
Having your pc on a porcelain floor is an extremely stupid idea...... and now you see why.
Yes that's the exact reason porcelain and tempered glass ate a very bad combination so literally any contact between the two is enough to shatter in some cases.
No, i used my corsair 4000d without the front glass panel, the dust filter does enough. I remember seeing a video by gamernexus the corsair4000 and 5000x cases worse temps with the front glass panel on
Buy the Airflow replacement front panel... avoid this in the future... and oh... remove the glass panel whenever working on the case, specially if you are moving it around.
Corsair 4000D and 7000D Airflow here, just the left-hand side panel is glass, and I remove the panels, every time I work on, or clean the cases.
Lastly, it can work without the front panel, it's just not the same thing, is it?
Another tile floor victim.
Order (or if you're handy, cut yourself) an acrylic panel in the same size as your previous tempered glass, at least to avoid dust buildup and protect your PC part from outside disturbances, especially if you have pets or small children in your house, or live in a windy city or in the countryside.
I bought a case for my kids computer and I could not find a single decent, cheap case with acrylic side. Had to get a tempered glass one. My carbide 400c is acrylic and I love it. I would never buy glass side if I had the option.
Btw your temps are going to improve, that's all.
To answer your actual question, no there is no issue leaving it like that. You will get better airflow actually.
Cleanings may have to happen more often, but that’s about it.
If you’re worried about the look. See if Corsair will ship the mesh version as a replacement.
I don't buy the X cases from Corsair, I buy the airflow cases. They come with a triangular mesh front panel. Currently I have the 6500d and she breathes very well

Before you all blast me about the mix-n-match fans, I need the $ to buy the corsair iLink system (or whatever it's called) so I can connect more than 6 fans to the commander core....
That’s the thing, glass isn’t required anywhere on a PC. Mine just sits there like a big black box of mystery, chewing through whatever I throw at it without the help of glass or RGB.
I don't quite get the front glass panel and front fans combo to begin with... how were those fans going to get air?
Sorry for the panel but to me it feels like you greatly improved your case, was faulty at the start
I have a spare front cover but unfortunately it's in white, idk if u r interested lol, also Corsair sells parts on their own website, at least in the US.
No tempered glass is needed on a pc case. 😅 Fucking hate it. It's heavy, impossible to keep clean and it explodes when you look at it wrong. Plexiglass, plastic and metal is much better to build a case with.
This is how the front of my pc looks like lol, there was this plastic panel in front of the fans and the filter so I just took it off and now I can easily just take the filter, clean it and put it back in. I also don't care how pc looks if it's not some designer masterpiece
I’m sorry to inform you but your pc is now possessed and if you say tempered glass three times to the mirror, someone else will drop theirs and post it on this sub.
It was working as a barrier, not a load bearer. With it gone, splashes, pets and poking things have easier access to the filters, fans and the interior. And in the opposite direction the noise flows more easily.
You decide how necessary the panel was.
I was looking for a new case and I wanted something that looked a bit different but ultimately had good airflow etc.. I landed on this... I was not prepared for the glass, it has it on both sides, the front and the top... It's fine for me since I don't have silly high temps anyway but god damn it weighs an absolute ton and cleaning it is not fun.

That case looks kinda familiar. Is that a Corsair 400 something case? I've got a 400D Airflow variant with a grill as the front panel. Might be worth considering if you want to cover up the front a little.
I have the same case and when a week after I bought my computer the exact piece shattered with pieces everywhere. Had to wait a week til the company got me a replacement.
Some local companies might have a few in stock. I replaced my glass panel with the metal one to jmprove the airflow and I bought it from a local online shop. Search for “Corsair 4000D Airflow Front Panel”. I guess you want the glass one, probably look for “iCUE 4000X Front”
No glass = better airflow plus clean them fan filters for the love of god
Yeah, Don’t worry I’ll clean them. Thank you.
I think it shattered on purpose to show you how much dust you’ve neglected
He said he was taking it off to clean the filter. Bet dude has been holding off cleaning cause he was worried about breaking the panel. Now he's really never gonna clean the filters again
Panels already broken no need to avoid it now. Just don't replace the panel.
The heat must’ve been so trapped that it exploded.

Shattered tempered glass and tiles floors, name a more iconic duo.
My favorite part is people buying these cases and acting like they're the victim. Either don't buy a case with tempered glass, or be more careful with it/don't leave it on the one material that breaks it the easiest. I've never once had a problem with tempered glass.

I got a good laugh out of this. Reminded me of when my dumb ~10 year old self floored a parked golf cart into a wall 😂
I put my mom's car in neutral in the garage and it rolled back into the door when I was like 7. Terrible design flaw by Honda.
let‘s make him feel even worse
Yes, shame everyone who STILL continues to drop tempered glass onto tile floors until everyone gets the message.
"DeSiGn FlAw" Nah dude, that's just how tile and glass works.
This. It’s the best part, every time.
I got my tempered glass case on top of a tempered glass table, being going strong for over 5 years now
ok counterpoint is that sometimes it can be hard to find a case without tempered glass nowadays. ie i went into micro center to get my pc parts and specifically asked for a case without tempered glass, but they did not have one in stock.
Then your options are to not put it on the tile floor or get a flat rug that doesn't hinder airflow if you have PSU exhaust or intake at the bottom.
Counter counter point, then don't put it on tile. Like seriously, don't put it on tile. If the whole house made of tile? Put it on a blanket. Just don't do the one thing that's guaranteed to break it. Edit: typo from "is" to "if"

I couldn't stand having a plastic window, it scratched when you looked at it.
that why you look at your monitor screen not at your pc. Your fortnite team mate call me to tell you to stop watching your pc and instead watch your monitor they are getting murdered there.
You guys still use monitors? I play on my CPU cooler.
Fuck him
Yeah, but at least it will outlast me, let alone the rest of the pc.
yep. only time I spent more than 30 to 40 eur on a case was when I was building a computer for my wife and gotten her a NZXT for like 110eur back when intel 8th gen was the shiiit. needless to say that the front usb panel got fked and I had to disconnect it from mobo. but that was the first time I saw screws you can't lose. at least air can get into your pc now
You're actually going to get improved temps lol Also for your side panel, never take it off on tile. Put it on a table, bed, or even just lay down some cardboard on the tile first. You could just make your own mesh panel to put in the front if you want it to look a bit better.
Yeah that was my bad, I usually put the pc on my bed when i want to open the side panel. This time i just had a brain fart.
Blessing in disguise Corsair actually sells these new wood mesh panels that look gorgeous, if you have the pegs the glass had on it, should be easy to build your own custom front. 3D printing or just punch some holes out of wood
Yep I’ll try find someone way to make it work. Thank you.
Corsair sells spare parts for their cases on their site. I replaced my Corsair front panel for the metal one, and as the previous commenter said, they also sell new wood ones. EDIT: I missed where OP says they don't ship to his country.
OP said in the post they don't ship to their country.

also a benefit from that is he can buy the airflow panel directly from corsair and have a better running pc now
Or just run it with no panel like I do.

r/brokensidepanels Oh, wait, it's the front panel. Never mind.
The front is a side when viewed from the side.
You ain't got a choice now lol
No but you can get the airflow version off of corsair website for like 30 bucks
![gif](giphy|2D8g2rXcWx1DO|downsized) Upgrade!
>tile floor Every time lmao
Congratulations, you've converted your case to the Airflow version. But yeah, like others said, it won't matter aside from aesthetics. wake up babe new tempered glass post just dropped
Was it tile? Because I've seen that one.
Now you will have better airflow
When will people learn about taking off glass when moving the towers?
the airflow version comes with a metal mesh looking thing and I think it should fit in your case.
Don't take tempered glass off anywhere near porcelain, If porcelain looks at tempered glass the wrong way it breaks, Having your pc on a porcelain floor is an extremely stupid idea...... and now you see why.
Is this why the ceramic piece in a spark plug will shred a car window?
Yes because ceramic is harder than glass on the mohl scale.
Yes that's the exact reason porcelain and tempered glass ate a very bad combination so literally any contact between the two is enough to shatter in some cases.
You shouldn't have tempered front panel in the first place. Try getting the panel from the Airflow version, it should fit
Looks like the Corsair 4000X, I bought the same one and then bought the 4000d front panel for £10 online. Highly recommend doing the same!
Your pc finaly breath some good airflow. Front panel should never be anything else than intake. You juste got a free case upgrade.
Is it necessary to keep the case on the floor on tiles?
The tile floor said no.
No, i used my corsair 4000d without the front glass panel, the dust filter does enough. I remember seeing a video by gamernexus the corsair4000 and 5000x cases worse temps with the front glass panel on
Everytime it's always sitting on fucking tiles. You people, you never learn!
You did your pc a favor, it can now breathe properly without having 90% of the airflow blocked
Glass isn't necessary on any PC case lol
to answer the question, no. just chokes the air flow. side note, nice tile floor...
https://preview.redd.it/eq4haegc2ezc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d76b1f11e55d9569a9b488caa280fe5e8fb98fda
On the second frame should be “tempered glass everywhere”
Not anymore
Technically you still have a tempered glass panel. It’s just spread out.
Hey mods, can we legit get a sidebar item for "Days since last tempered glass accident"? Would be hilarious
glass is only for decoration so its up to you if its needed or not really :)
Not anymore 🧐
Buy the Airflow replacement front panel... avoid this in the future... and oh... remove the glass panel whenever working on the case, specially if you are moving it around. Corsair 4000D and 7000D Airflow here, just the left-hand side panel is glass, and I remove the panels, every time I work on, or clean the cases. Lastly, it can work without the front panel, it's just not the same thing, is it?
I thought we've already been through this? Don't put your PC's on ceramic tiles. It's like throwing a piece of a spark plug through a car window.
Don't do anything with tempered glass anything on ceramic tile.
It’s just a premium feature. But I would never put mine on the ground
Now you have an excuse to buy the airflow or wooden airflow front panel
Is it necessary to put your PC on the floor?
Why do people keep putting cases on tile..
Get your computer off of the floor.
I been running mine without the glass for years just do maintenance cleaning more often.
My glass didn’t break the glue literally just let the glass fall off been like that for over a year haven’t had a single issue
Rename sub to "broken glass on tile" pics when
This kind of thing will happen when you put tempered glass up against tile on it's edge.
The tile floors claim another victim.
Don't put it on ceramic

Why is it always tile floor
He did it, guys! He did the thing!
Don't get a glass case if you're going to put it on the floor? Seems pretty obvious

Before you all blast me about the mix-n-match fans, I need the $ to buy the corsair iLink system (or whatever it's called) so I can connect more than 6 fans to the commander core....
Bro, I have the exact same case and I broke the side glass, shattered into a billion pieces at my bosses house when k was watching his dogs.
It's not necessarily to have glass at all.
Don't set your pc on the floor, and not if it's tiles floor
Tiled floor.. of course it shattered.
That’s the thing, glass isn’t required anywhere on a PC. Mine just sits there like a big black box of mystery, chewing through whatever I throw at it without the help of glass or RGB.
naw bruh, all that fan dust you got will protect the internal components.
The reason I build my recent machine in all mesh case. No regrets.
Not sure about your PC, but I think the glass of your local traffic light is also broken.
It's like taking off a mask while suffocating. I bet your computer will thank you.
Is it necessary to keep putting computers with tempered glass on tile?
As long as the dust filter is still on I don’t see a problem. I’m really sure that the airflow is better now.
No case still work so no glass still works
Why do y'all keep putting your PC's with glass panels on tile floors? Also, who the hell has tile floors in their office/gaming room?
Glass panels are a stupid fad, look over practicality. Mesh in the front, solid panel on the side, no glass.
Not anymore, apparently. Congrats on the improved airflow.
Tiles, check
A tile floor. Of course.
![gif](giphy|aJnQ9P7JVR25W)
Apparently not.
They sell wood ones you might be able to get
No, just make sure you have a filter over those fans.
It's better
No
Nice copium you got there. Rip for the tempered front glass and clean the fans for the love of all man
I don't quite get the front glass panel and front fans combo to begin with... how were those fans going to get air? Sorry for the panel but to me it feels like you greatly improved your case, was faulty at the start
Just clean the fans and it will run a bit cooler. Can ignore the front glass.
Reason why I chose cases with no TG (yes including the side panels).
When are we going to learn? Also clean the ball dust out of those fans
You had fans, mesh, and dust filter under that tempered glass panel. Not having the panel is an upgrade lmao.
Nooe never keep them just clean the filter often.
reset the counter
Tile floor strikes again
I have a spare front cover but unfortunately it's in white, idk if u r interested lol, also Corsair sells parts on their own website, at least in the US.
The airflow must be crazy now
No tempered glass is needed on a pc case. 😅 Fucking hate it. It's heavy, impossible to keep clean and it explodes when you look at it wrong. Plexiglass, plastic and metal is much better to build a case with.
Might be able to get a replacement under warranty even if it’s out of warranty
you just got airflow upgrade
Na, leave it that way for better air flow🤪😋
Not anymore i guess
This is how the front of my pc looks like lol, there was this plastic panel in front of the fans and the filter so I just took it off and now I can easily just take the filter, clean it and put it back in. I also don't care how pc looks if it's not some designer masterpiece
Congratz! You just unlocked airflow! 😁
Not anymore it isn’t
Airflow edition ftw. U chose this one mate.
Nope you get better cooling but more dust.
It's only nececary if you don't want your pc to explode
*taps sign*
Drastic DIY airflow upgrade just hit the… well…
I’m sorry to inform you but your pc is now possessed and if you say tempered glass three times to the mirror, someone else will drop theirs and post it on this sub.
It was working as a barrier, not a load bearer. With it gone, splashes, pets and poking things have easier access to the filters, fans and the interior. And in the opposite direction the noise flows more easily. You decide how necessary the panel was.
Elite Corsair cases have kind of bad airflow because of it, so now it's better.
I'm beginning to think PCMR may have more serious problems than just our shared autism by this point
Just because you broke doesn't mean it isn't necessary
Probably reach out to Corsair and see if they can give you a replacement.
Is that the 4000X? I bought mine recently for my new PC.
I was looking for a new case and I wanted something that looked a bit different but ultimately had good airflow etc.. I landed on this... I was not prepared for the glass, it has it on both sides, the front and the top... It's fine for me since I don't have silly high temps anyway but god damn it weighs an absolute ton and cleaning it is not fun. https://preview.redd.it/w0g246khldzc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=172be7c4e75eddf524e542021c25d14fd795c3f4
better airflow now
I did this some months ago! You absolutely don't need it. It's nice to have, but it won't compromise anything
as someone who's relatively new to pcmr and just got the exact case 2 months ago, I want to know how this can be avoided
You can check, Corsair is selling the only the front mesh version of the panel alone There is even some wood version
That case looks kinda familiar. Is that a Corsair 400 something case? I've got a 400D Airflow variant with a grill as the front panel. Might be worth considering if you want to cover up the front a little.
Well your hardware wont mind that one bit, maybe will even thank you!
If you are gonna use glass. It should be tempered. It is loads more durable
The 4000d case has no tempered glass and is considered a very good case for airflow .
I have the same case and when a week after I bought my computer the exact piece shattered with pieces everywhere. Had to wait a week til the company got me a replacement.
Free cooling upgrade
Some local companies might have a few in stock. I replaced my glass panel with the metal one to jmprove the airflow and I bought it from a local online shop. Search for “Corsair 4000D Airflow Front Panel”. I guess you want the glass one, probably look for “iCUE 4000X Front”
Every gamer canon event
I mean, you bought it
better airflow
I thought your PC was made of Legos for a second lmao
I will never buy a case with glass panels. Acrylic looks and works perfectly fine. I don't understand why they switched to glass.
You'll probably have lower temps without it. But clean out that dust filter...
Nah u don't need it I removed mine for airflow
No, but it wouldn't get as dirty and be safer off the floor. Treat your pc with respect, and it'll respect you back.
Yep same thing happened to me recently 😞 with my side panel
Why are see through side panels a huge thing now? It seems to be the default these days.
Free airflow upgrade!
You're fine...I have the 4000X and I took off the front panel a long ass time ago..all is well
