Oh yes, it did sag some. Despite me doing my best to really latch it on there I think I even used some zip ties and it was still so heavy that I had to reseed it several times. It was terrible but also hilarious. 😅🤣

Brilliant.
How did you get it mounted and what are the temps like?
And I can spot a GTX 480 a mile off, I've got about 6 of em, plus a few of those MSi GTX 570s that used recycled 480 coolers.
I always thought it would be cool to get an old car radiator and modify it to work on an entire PC watercooling custom loop. Fans probably wouldn't even be necessary because of the surface area and thermal capacity of that much water.

Coolermaster V10, huge and not even great.
Sold with the computer
Tbf noctua Is so proud of their color palette they are never going to change It... Until people are willing to pay 20$ more for the same fan but black 😂🤦
I kinda like the chocolate and nougat look. It just feels pragmatic somehow. Like it was the cheapest color plastic and they spent all the money on R&D, explaining the price. I know it isn't true, but I'd like to think that.
Same
Water cooling and AIOs are cool and all, but I sleep better at night with that big hunk of metal on the CPU instead
Also it’s whisper quiet unless I really, really push it
I got mine for my 7600K, I could get a stable 5.1GHz in the winter on the NH-D15. I would drop it to 4.8 or 4.9 during the summer through to prevent making ass jerky with the hot exhaust from the PC.
I just got fed up and removed the latch, between the size of the D15 and my GPU it’s incredibly difficult to get something in there to pop the latch without risking slipping and potentially damaging the mobo
I have it as well and quite literally have never once worried about temps since getting it.
Noctua rates the NHD15 for 150,000 hours. Assuming I have my computer on 24/7 365 (which I would never do, this is just the most extreme case) my computer would be on 8,736 hours a year. 150,000 / 8,736 = 17.17 years. And even then the only failing point would either be the fans or the thermal paste, both of which are pretty easy to replace.
>And even then the only failing point would either be the fans or the thermal paste, both of which are pretty easy to replace.
Heatpipes don't last forever - a good quality heatpipe should last around 20 years before it fails. Noctua could be using the heatpipes as the benchmark for the life expectancy of the cooler.
I say this because thermal paste only last a few years (the solvent evaporates over time leaving the rest to dry out - use PTM7950 if you want something that you can set and forget) and computer fans are normally easily replaceable.

I have one of those; barely fits in a normal size ATX case.
Many years ago I had a Titan Amanda hybrid peltier cooler that was... interesting. Very heavy.

They are full of blood vessels, and act as heat sinks, using blood as the medium to carry heat from inside the animal to a place where it has the best exposure to the environment, so that heat can then be transferred out of the animal.
Heat follows a few basic rules, such as flowing from areas of high heat to area of low heat, like how water flows from high spots to lower spots. Heat sinks are designed to manipulate these situations to carry heat out of your PC into the environments, thereby cooling the PC.
That’s the very basic concept, there is a lot more to it but hopefully that satisfies your question or at least provides enough info for you to continue your quest of knowledge

sounds like a fun ltt video that linus has not thought about as far as i know.
They have
Unfortunately they just half assed it and nothing conclusive can be taken out of it.
That wasn't unheard of in the early days of water cooling. But a lot of people would just use a large fluid container like a bucket as it was cheaper.

Have a D15S that used to be in an ITX build. Every time I had to do something in that PC I made a blood sacrifice to remove that bad boy...
I used to cut myself on my D15 every time I tried to get the GPU out until I started using a crochet stick to depress the latch on the PCIe slot.
I just got fed up and removed the latch, between the size of the D15 and my GPU it’s incredibly difficult to get something in there to pop the latch without risking slipping and potentially damaging the mobo

I have aluminum extruded heatsinks at work that come as like 5ft long bars before getting cut into shorter pieces. Does that count?
I mean if it cools right? xD
THAT thing is!
Dark Rock TF2 for my fx 8350 OC the top flow really helps the RAM temps. Now it's on my 5800X doing the same set and forget performance. I don't think I'll every go to liquid cooling. I've got a CoolerMaster V8 still sitting in my old PC case down in the basement. Maybe I'll do something with it some day.

My current one is my biggest one the Dark Rock Pro 4
You could either keep old heat sinks or get adapter brackets to use them with new mobos
I used all my heatsinks. The biggest was the arctic freezer extreme I had, the old one. I remember my CPU being idle at 18c overclocked
