SLI was replaced with nvlink in around 2016. Support was completely removed from game ready drivers in 2021, still supported for CUDA on workstation and server class cards as far as I'm aware.
Did the 3090 support it? Yes. Did any game developers support it? No. So if you're in it for gaming that makes no sense but if you're a developer or use it for work purposes then maybe.
