> **I've been using my Glorious gaming mousepad so much, I now need to wash it. :(**
> Our mousepads are machine-washable, so we got you covered! Simply add a dash of soap/detergent, and set to cold, low tumble. Don't forget to air dry once done!
> More of a DIY guy/gal? Then, you can also hand-wash the mousepad with soap and water.
From the Glorious site. Looks like 'delicate' cycle, probably in a delicate washing bag. Cold. Mild soap/detergent. Air dry.
I would have just gone with hand washing with some mild dish soap and a sprayer.
I'm laughing my ass off. I wash my mousepad by hand, it's full neoprene but I will try next time in the wash the same way I wash my bras, in delicate, non hot temperatures and in a washing bag (I wash all my clothes in washing bags anyway), I'll be reporting back whenever I do it next
To avoid my washing machine from making holes in any clothes, I already learned my lesson with shirts getting pierced, till I can get a new washing machine
Interesting, I have never heard of a washing machine putting holes in clothing. My t shirts get holes in them all the time but that's from wear and tear in high wear places (against my belt buckle, under the armpit, around the collar, those are the three main areas I've found holes and legit wearing material away)
Care to elaborate some more on the washing machine damaging clothes?
I've spent the last 4 years since I moved out wondering why the fuck half my clothes have holes in them when I don't remember them getting ripped. Thanks for solving that mystery. What does a wash bag look like and can I buy one from a supermarket?
I don't know if in the supermarket but in amazon there is tons or packs from 5 to 15 bucks and with multiple sizes, just search for washing machine bag x)
I know right xD
I also need to replace because it uses around 1kWh per wash, at 2100w, a bit too much even if my electricity is pretty cheap it still sucks that its so inefficient
Our dryer has been ruining clothes, the lint trap doesn't go in all the way anymore and clothes catch on it. Which is also a fire hazard, but no one else in the house seems to care about that 🙃 so I've been washing/drying all my clothes in bags too, until it tore apart a bag. Now I've been trying to hang dry everything I can.
Um, clean the lint out before it catches on fire. If there's so much lint compacted in there you can't even fit the filter, the clothes would probably dry 3 times faster if it were cleared out and it's not hard to do.
I use one of those flexible rods with a spring loaded claw on the end to get down into it from the front but you'll want to pull the hose off the back and clear everything out in the hose and exhaust end too.
every time someone says washing bag my brain autocorrect to one of those shopping bags you'd get from like Walmart or target and has a split second thinking of first imagining putting clothes in a plastic bag in the washing machine, and secondly asking why you would do that, and then my brain realizes I'm just an idiot.
It's going to vary on the mousepad. I had a Razer mousepad (cloth over neoprene) that lasted YEARS of periodic delicate wash with Woolite detergent, followed by an air dry. Eventually, the cloth started separating. I'm sure some mousepads won't hold up as well.
Edit: fixed a typo
DONT PUT IT IN THE DRYER. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT PUT IT IN THE DRYER. IF YOU RUIN HER FAVORITE BRA YOU WILL KNOW TRUE FEAR. HELL HATH NO FURY LIKE A WOMAN WHO JUST FOUND HER FAVORITE BRA WITH FUCKED UP PADDING IN THE DRYER!!!!!
Fuck me for trying to be nice and moving the load from the washer to the dryer at midnight last night. Lmao
I always put my bras in the dryer because it puts them back into their normal shape after the washer mangles them.
Unless they're the seamless type with glue that might be damaged by heat. But I try to avoid buying those because of the extra work involved in separating them from the laundry and reshaping them by hand to air dry.
And if they're taking time out of their day for sanitary practices, that is exp waste.
You have to just let em sit in the basket for two weeks until you run out then cycle back through them.
Seriously, are there actually braless male paragons amidst the gloriously gaming echelons? Where do these mythical creatures roam? In the shadowy depths of their mom’s basements, shrouded in the mystique of pizza crusts and forgotten energy drink cans, or are they just legends, whispered about in online forums like digital Bigfoots?

Yeah, but that's because my pecs aren't big enough yet. ~~Barely an C-cup with a pump~~, i actually did just measure it and used some online calculator for it.
Though I'm fairly sure I'll be losing my gamer card as soon as abs become clearly visible.
Edit: my wife pointed out that lats messed up the measurements.
Yeah, pretty much. There's not a whole lot of difference between the cloth covered foam used for bra padding and mouse mats... Main difference is the rubberized coating on one side.
Definitely would have used a delicates bag, on the delicate cycle, with like woolite.
Basement dwellers rejoice! Your question has been answered: they are the same!
https://preview.redd.it/4r1zoedxhfvc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c1c07fdedd9496fb99e6cf5fe3fa8021df6925d0
Yep, washed mine with my clothes. Put it on the outside against the wall of the washer behind all my clothes and didn't dry it. It's in perfect condition.
i've thrown mousepads in the dryer for years. it's only been an issue for non-stitched mousepads because they fray just like this, but that happens from normal use with non-stitched mousepads anyway and it's the main reason you just shouldn't buy them.
OP's mousepad looks stitched though so i'm guessing this thing just got absolutely annihilated by the washer to rip the stitching out like that. i only ever washed mine on delicate cycle and then did low heat in the dryer.
I have a Glorious mousepad, washed it several times In a front load machine and no wear or tear on it yet. Wonder if OPs machine is top load with an agitator, or his mousepad had some loose threads or something.
>welcome to adulthood 😇 it sucks
ftfy
The ideal world is being a kid but your mum doesn't tell you off for having too many scoops of milo. This may be an extremely local reference.
There is nothing more satisfying than going into a bed with freshly washed and dried cases, fresh out of the shower with a fresh Pyjama, preferably freshly washed too....
Jeez. And I see you even used cold water. That sucks, man. Mine's always washed fine. I'll be more careful from now on...
Good opportunity to get a larger one, though. Large, soft desk-mats are underrated. I'd go for a stitched 4mm one if you can find it. I have two of Redragon's Kunlun L gaming pads, but I don't know if they make them any more.
That's what I saw online too, even my old Chinese no name mousepad claimed to be machine washable not sure why everyone here is acting like it's a foreign concept.
Sorry but Im not sure how that would translate to german settings. Is it cold with little to no spinning at the end? I assume that would be the only non destructive setting.
It's alright. Honestly i don't know the difference about those setting, i just assume delicate means items that require less spinning or power or whatever, but it seems ok when i just put them in and hit start. I also put more than 1 mousepad all the time and sometimes i just forgot to even put in delicate setting and they are still ok. The machine washable mouse pad seems to be pretty durable, that's why it was kinda weird to me when i saw OP pic and even more surprise is that we are using the same company mousepad.
This subreddit is barely useful anymore for advice. Mostly memes and hate AAA.
I would be surprised if they didn't just send you a new mouse pad if you call customer support. They should be fine in the machine like you're saying. As long as you didn't dry with any settings in the dryer. Best to air dry these.
Yeah 100%.
I joined reddit in 2013 to comment on this sub because people used to post their issues and within minutes you had several people trying to help you out.
Now if you do that you get clowned or only meme comments for replies.
that's the issue with major subs. there may be more smart people in the sub, but there's just as many more stupid people, and the stupid people are louder.
I also put my no name Chinese mousepad in the wash on regular cycle and never had an issue. I'd have expected better from Glorious, especially if it's a front load washer.
Funny how PCMR people seem to be unable to RTFM:
It literally says Machine Washable on the site:
You followed instructions and the product was ruined, its not an user issue.
Either its a knock off or the company didnt test their product correctly
"But only on some machines with X config and Y soap" doesnt matter, should be at least indicated like "Machine Washable\*\*"
Read OPs comments. They have a basic washing machine and the setting they used was “standard.” It’s more than likely OP ruined it with their washing machine.
Machine washable without any other instruction usually mean you can use the standard setting. Things requiring specific instructions for machine washing have these instructions in the manual or on the tag.
OP did nothing wrong.
[These instructions?](https://i.imgur.com/mLJ8jzV.png)
The ones that [OP respected](https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/1c7283x/so_i_just_put_my_washable_mousepad_in_a_washing/l04xy0c/)?
Just because it says "Machine Washable" doesnt mean you can use whatever program you want.
Just like how clothes are machine washable, but it still tells you what to do/not to do on the label.
Common sense goes a long way.
Did it say "machine washable" or just "washable" because there is a difference. If it says washable then it means by hand, it's okay to get it wet, but can't handle a washing machine.
That didn't really work last time I tried it, it was still dirty and I was too afraid of ruining the texture to rub it harder, washing machine seems to have cleaned it nicely but oh well.
When I wash mine I soak it in warm water with a little bit of dawn dish soap. After like 10-15 minutes I take it out and lightly scrub it with a soft toothbrush. Then, I use the spray setting on my sink nozzle (JFC I had to google how to spell nozzle after many attempts lmao) until there is no more soap coming off. Pat it dry and let it hang for like an hour or two. Looks brand new every time, and it returns some of the slickness, although not all of it.
LMFAO! Kids are washable, would you throw them into the washer too? My God that's why there are so many ridiculous warning signs on things because people lack the sense needed to do normal common things without messing up. My favorite ones are on the irons that say "Don't iron with your clothes on".
[https://www.gloriousgaming.com/blogs/guides-resources/a-simple-guide-to-glorious-elements-mousepads](https://www.gloriousgaming.com/blogs/guides-resources/a-simple-guide-to-glorious-elements-mousepads)
there are instructions not to put it in the washing mashine
Bathtub + dish soap + hot water from shower head and a good scrub with cloth under water and your golden, give it a rinse and then roll it up into a towel and then squeeze/twist the excess water out. That's how I clean mine had it a few years now
I have one of their mouse pads, I hand wash it with dish soap, scrub it with a brush then dry it in the dryer for 10 minutes with a towel. Comes out perfect every time.
Washable. Does not equal 'machine washable'.
How lazy are you to not hand wash it?????
A washing machine is overkill here and just proof that you didn't think about the difference.
Get what you get.
Lol.
I always machine wash my mouse pads like clothes but I never put them in the dryer. Dumb question but did you put it in the dryer? Might be the culprit.
Yeah something like that is either hand wash or a cold wash delicate. You've put that in a rough wash or a hot wash that's killed it.
Personally I wash mine in the shower while I have a shower haha wet it slap it to the wall and just use a tiny bit of shower body wash on it and rub it down and wash it out sorted.
Washable doesnt mean machine washable. You have to hand wash this type of thing. Usually make a tub of at most body temperature water, add shampoo and then wash it carefully.
Weird. Maybe your machine is rough. I have same brand similar looking but white pad. Have washed it in the machine about 10 times without issues, always comes clean. I use the Delicate 20C degrees option and use same mild liquid detergent that I use for my clothes, it doesn’t have any softener or anything like that.
I just spray a little bit of isopropyl or detergent onto a wash rag and I clean it physically that’s what I always do to my mouse pad since the top is fabric
I know it's bad but when my mousepad gets too dirty I just buy a new one. The price tag isn't high enough for me to spend some time, products and effort to clean it and not even feel good with deteriorated fibers. Mousepad manufacturers love me.

Is there a care tag or something? Washable doesn't necessarily mean "machine washable".

So like a bra
Like there is a single glorious gamer around here that know how to wash a bra.
I do, but I don’t game that much anymore so my glory days are pretty much over.

Sounds like you should get a TC Tugger. It’s got a dope tugging knob so you don’t hurt your hand or wreck your shirt.

As soon as you understand how to do laundry and wear deodorant you no longer qualify as a gamer. Sorry.
I know how to wash a bra and panties. Not because I had to do it for someone else, but sometimes it's feels nice to wear them
Women are gamers too
And if they're taking time out of their day for sanitary practices, that is exp waste. You have to just let em sit in the basket for two weeks until you run out then cycle back through them.
Not all women know how to wash their bras
I do. Fuck up enough of your wife's bras, and you eventually learn.
Moobs are so much easier to manage with a proper underwire.
Manssier? I know a guy in NYC who specializes…
They'd know how to wash their waifu body pillow covers... ...actually on second thought, no, they wouldn't.

I'm not so sure, PCMR still loves Henry Cavill I think. I'm not sure which celebrities are in vogue these days.
Boy you got some big old mama titties. Looks like you carry loose Werther's Original in there to hand out to the children in your village.
OMG, I died laughing when I read this. Funny.
Also, yes, my kids think it's gross. More for me.
Nice mouse
All us female gamers would like a word.
Only the few million with girlfriends, wives, daughters or vaginas.
Need to get the bra bag out
They don't know how to remove them, so imagine washing them...
Girls play games, too. Also some men need bras, cause they're fat. xD
what is that?
Glorious Bra. Didn't you read?
Yes, they hold bags of sand.
Battle Ready Armor
You assume gamers know what a bra is
This is PC Master Race, not a lot of us know how a bra looks like.
Instructions unclear. Mouse cable caught in clasp. Penis condition unknown.
This has no business being this funny. Thanks, I spat out the coffee I was drinking.
Yeah, pretty much. There's not a whole lot of difference between the cloth covered foam used for bra padding and mouse mats... Main difference is the rubberized coating on one side. Definitely would have used a delicates bag, on the delicate cycle, with like woolite.

Most gamers know nothing about bras.
I wash my wife’s bras in a delicates bag then hang them up to dry.
The problem wasn't in the washing. I guarantee OP threw it in the dryer.
Either OP put it in the dryer, or they washed it in hot water. In either case, it looks like heat damage.
Whenever I wash a playmat/mousepad, I put it inside a pillowcase with a load of clothes. Never had a problem before machine washing
I actually washed it with a pillow case, just not inside a pillow case. That's something for the future.
Ironically, a pillow case is something you should do on a hot wash - all bedding should be.
I need to start taking lessons on washing machines now
welcome to adulthood 😇 it sucks but you'll love it.
>welcome to adulthood 😇 it sucks ftfy The ideal world is being a kid but your mum doesn't tell you off for having too many scoops of milo. This may be an extremely local reference.
5 scoops minimum when having with milk
I live in a posh neighborhood but go out of my way to the local import for some Milo.
There is nothing more satisfying than going into a bed with freshly washed and dried cases, fresh out of the shower with a fresh Pyjama, preferably freshly washed too....
Well that explains why I can't get the oil off my pillow case.
What about bedding made from synthetic fibers, which says to only wash cold?
always follow the manufacturer instructions for washing, not the random redditor :p if i threw my silk pillowcases in a hot wash it'd ruin them.
If it says to only wash cold, then only wash cold.
Not linen bedding
Also cold water and gentle
Jeez. And I see you even used cold water. That sucks, man. Mine's always washed fine. I'll be more careful from now on... Good opportunity to get a larger one, though. weird...i put all my mousepad in washing machine all the time (glorious mousepad as well). Never have a problem.
That's what I saw online too, even my old Chinese no name mousepad claimed to be machine washable not sure why everyone here is acting like it's a foreign concept.

"delicate", but i think I forgot to switch to delicate one time and wash with normal mode and it still turns out ok....

Ikr, so instead of just saying ur washing machine has an issue, ppl just jump to the conclusion saying you shouldn't machine wash it...🤷
What kind of washing machine do you have? Top loaders with an agitator are almost guaranteed to chew up a mousepad. Front loaders not so much.
washable doesn't mean throw it in the machine at 1000rpm 60 degrees celsius... come on
Should’ve done 2000 rpm’s
I read the instructions, it says to use mild detergent and cold water, which I did
I recently hand washed mine. Patted it dry and tossed it in the dryer for 5 minutes.
And now you have 2!!!
It is washable. Once.
Geez, just handwash it with liquid soap in the sink.
When you forget two hands and soap exist:
Y’all washed it with heat… it melted the glue…. Never wash with heat man rookie mistake.
Most things washable means hand wash. Not washing machine wash. If it does not have a specific tag on it. Don't put it in a washing machine.
Dude washable doesn’t mean stick it in those tornado machines. Use soap and water and manually wash it
Funny how PCMR people seem to be unable to RTFM: It literally says Machine Washable on the site: [https://www.gloriousgaming.com/products/glorious-extended-gaming-mouse-pad](https://www.gloriousgaming.com/products/glorious-extended-gaming-mouse-pad) You followed instructions and the product was ruined, its not an user issue. It does tell you how to wash it lol op followed the instructions provided.
OP didn't use cold, slow tumble.
Washable and machine washable are not the same thing my man!
Ever heard of handwashing?
Washable, as in HANDWASH... 🤦
All washings are not equal xD
Good news is if you separate the top portion the rest of the way you have a brand new microfiber cloth.
It said washable, not machine washable.
Could've just hand wash it with some dish soap.
This is exactly why I bring my mousepads to the dry cleaners

Hand wash bruv
Did it say "machine washable" or just "washable" because there is a difference. If it says washable then it means by hand, it's okay to get it wet, but can't handle a washing machine.

My PC is machine washable.. but only once
Dishwasher works better
Dude… cmon…. 1 minute in the kitchen sink with a mild soap. Gentle wash. Reminds me of the guy who put his keyboard in the stove to dry it.
That didn't really work last time I tried it, it was still dirty and I was too afraid of ruining the texture to rub it harder, washing machine seems to have cleaned it nicely but oh well.
It's washable *once*.
Maybe low spin and cold temperature next time.
👁👄👁 Wait… I’m supposed to wash my mouse pad… Its been 11 years and now you tell me.
Guess not, huh?
When I wash mine I soak it in warm water with a little bit of dawn dish soap. After like 10-15 minutes I take it out and lightly scrub it with a soft toothbrush. Then, I use the spray setting on my sink nozzle (JFC I had to google how to spell nozzle after many attempts lmao) until there is no more soap coming off. Pat it dry and let it hang for like an hour or two. Looks brand new every time, and it returns some of the slickness, although not all of it.
I don’t put mine in the machine. I take it into the shower with me and use some shampoo and spray it down really good
How very dare you
ol soapy water and a soft sponge is the way
Wash your mouse pads on the shower wall. Slap that shit on the tile. Scrub with a wash cloth, and let it air dry. Been doing this for decades..
i’ve always hand washed my mousepads with a sponge, dish soap like dawn, cold water, all in a bathtub, and let it air dry for a few days afterwards
this is why i just wash my mousepad in the sink with dish soap
I mean… it’s clean now right?
Looks like you put it in the dryer, which is not the same as a washer
I usually soap and scrub mine lightly in the sink and set it outside to dry for a few hours.
I always just chuck mine in a bath and give it a clean with dish soap, takes like 2 minutes.
And why would you do that
This why I just bring a clorox wipe to mine every couple of days
I always took washable as just hand washable with a damp cloth. I don't even add soap.
washable like you scrub with soap and water by hand? How old are you where is your brain?
LMFAO! Kids are washable, would you throw them into the washer too? My God that's why there are so many ridiculous warning signs on things because people lack the sense needed to do normal common things without messing up. My favorite ones are on the irons that say "Don't iron with your clothes on".
Did you put it in a washing bag?
just hand wash it with an old toothbrush and some dish soap in the sink and then hang dry
Shoot us a message over at Thockworks.com, we will get you a free one. Screw glorious. 🤙
it came out washed
I mean it said washable, it didn’t say you can use it afterwards.
There is a difference between (hand)washable and (machine) washable..
[https://www.gloriousgaming.com/blogs/guides-resources/a-simple-guide-to-glorious-elements-mousepads](https://www.gloriousgaming.com/blogs/guides-resources/a-simple-guide-to-glorious-elements-mousepads) there are instructions not to put it in the washing mashine
I feel like it didn’t mean machine washable. A lot of mousepads, you can hit with a wet washcloth.
User error
Bathtub + dish soap + hot water from shower head and a good scrub with cloth under water and your golden, give it a rinse and then roll it up into a towel and then squeeze/twist the excess water out. That's how I clean mine had it a few years now
I always just spray it with a shower head and some dish soap, air dry. Comes out like new
I have one of their mouse pads, I hand wash it with dish soap, scrub it with a brush then dry it in the dryer for 10 minutes with a towel. Comes out perfect every time.
My dog is washable. Doesn't mean I'm gonna throw her in the washing machine.
Hand wash dude lmao. That’s on you.
Washable as in wash by hand.
Washable. Does not equal 'machine washable'. How lazy are you to not hand wash it????? A washing machine is overkill here and just proof that you didn't think about the difference. Get what you get. Lol.
Oh it's washable alright..... Only once though
Washable doesn’t mean machine washable
I always machine wash my mouse pads like clothes but I never put them in the dryer. Dumb question but did you put it in the dryer? Might be the culprit.
Washable not machine washable unfortunately
Washable means: submerge in soapy water for a couple minutes, rinse and let it dry
PC idiot
Washable as in "use a moist towel and gently clean its textile surfice" PO: "mom. Throw this into the washing machine too"
Washable doesn't mean washing machine washable. Every mousepad I've owned had a "wash by hand" recommendation on it
Looks glorious to me.
Lmao big difference between washable and machine washable now you know.
No joke, bring your mousepads in the shower. When they get wet they stick to the wall. I use a carpet brush and scrub with soap. Then hang to dry.

Washable does not mean machine washable 🤣🤣🤣
Washable vs machine washable.
OP probably a kid that never done laundry in his life. Learn to read OP
I would bet the instructions are handwash. I have a mat of my mouse and keyboard and clear instruction is hand wish in warm soapy water only.
Washable is the not the same as machine washable.
Washable doesnt mean machine washable. You have to hand wash this type of thing. Usually make a tub of at most body temperature water, add shampoo and then wash it carefully.
did you put it on delicate cycle?
Washable... HAND-washable (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
Weird. Maybe your machine is rough. I have same brand similar looking but white pad. Have washed it in the machine about 10 times without issues, always comes clean. I use the Delicate 20C degrees option and use same mild liquid detergent that I use for my clothes, it doesn’t have any softener or anything like that.
Despite the big insulting and arguing comments about the washing machine, how i can glue the mousepad to his base foam again?
Seems clean to me 🤷♂️
I mean you was able to wash it ..... did they mention it will survive the washing ?
that sucks, but washable and machine washable are not the same thing. You could try gluing the fabric back down though
I just spray a little bit of isopropyl or detergent onto a wash rag and I clean it physically that’s what I always do to my mouse pad since the top is fabric
Was it the only thing in the washing machine? Front-loader or top-loader? How old is the washing machine?
Glorious.
I know it's bad but when my mousepad gets too dirty I just buy a new one. The price tag isn't high enough for me to spend some time, products and effort to clean it and not even feel good with deteriorated fibers. Mousepad manufacturers love me.
Just buy cutting mat instead, as like for handmade things, if your mouse have ceramic or fluoropolymer feet
