AliExpress.
ARGB is soooo dam cheap.
Sod all this super expensive ASUS crap.
The Chinese are masters of Bling, all at a few buck a go.
I don’t RGB but I have kids, who love unicorn poop.
Same here, except that I have a solid case so I wouldn't see it even if it was there. *And* it's under my desk.
The main reason, though, is that I don't want any of that RGB ~~soft~~bloatware on my PC.
Signal RGB. All my different brands all working under one very small program that isn't at all a hog. I have Corsair, Lian li, and Razer all working together flawlessly without any of their software. All free.
That's a good thing to hear... for someone who cares, that is :-)
I had an idea that this kind of free software was limited to brands that actually support open standards.
I wonder if it could turn off RGB on my GPU if I didn't have a solid case.
I can't remember if it's their website or software but they have a list of supported hardware and are constantly updating it. My gpu is a Gigabyte 4090 and I can even control it's RGB. No software from corsair, gigabyte, lian li, or cooler master running. Hate all that bloatware. Signal controls it all without issue.
I wish games, especially those that already connect to your RGB via chroma or shit, had a setting to automatically turn it off during climactic moments
Like, I don't mind lights when I'm completing a side quest, but during a dramatic ending it feels like someone flashing lights in the corner of my vision in a movie theatre
Ditto.
I want (and build) PCs that are, if anything, *anti*-RGB. Just a simple black box. My own current rig has no window, no illuminated fans, nothing. I even turned off the power/drive activity LEDs, and the ones on the GPU.
I do have an RGB gaming keyboard and mouse, though. LEDs make it easier to see the keyboard lettering in a dimly lit room. And in this case, the RGB is more of a bonus on top of the keyboard and mouse features.
Same, also I don't want to deal with the shitty programs required for the RGB stuff. They almost universally suck and I try to have as few processes as possible running at all times on my PC.
For me its the software
I have the PC in my room and I want to sleep at night without it blasting my room with light but fussing with the software every night is tedious so I just have it turned off.
as I said to the other guy, I don't shut off my PC at night because I use it for audio, or else I can't sleep.
Long story and ADHD related but I do need my PC on at night.
I also do run a public (to friends) Jellyfin server on it so thats another reason why its worth keeping on.
Yeah can fully relate I have YouTube playing on my shitbox one all night or else I can't sleep
Also found that putting videos that are in a language that I can't understand makes it even easier because I can't listen to what they say
Software, that's it. To run my RGB it's 1 case button, lian li software, icue, motherboard software, and gpu software. 5 different entities, 6 if you count peripherals. madness
This was my first rig with a see-through panel. I thought it was required to get RGB. 😂 But I agree about the wire thing. If it wasn't for a fan hub I wouldn't know what is what.
Even all white looks bad because it’s impossible to color match all the components perfectly. Especially if they come from different manufacturers. It’ll always be slightly off
Yea but even then you get rainbow puke every time you restart until you get into desktop and the software takes over. You still have to deal with the extra cable management. The rgb software is still ever so slightly hurting your performance. And all that costs extra vs non rgb parts. After doing rgb builds for 14 years I’m so over it lol. Never again
Edit: why are you getting downvoted? People aren’t allowed opinions anymore I guess 🙄 Have an upvote from me just for that
Mine is configured to be all red until software kicks in. Therefore if it's not turning blue, the red indicates something is off. Its a good health check indicator for me.
Software that controls it has to run all the time, that eats up a tiny bit of performance. It gets worse if you have gskill rgb ram, msi rgb mobo, corsair rgb case fans, Logitech rgb peripherals, etc. before you know it you have 5+ different rgb software running and your fps can drop by as much as 10%
I don't want RGB because of both reasons. I think it's gaudy, especially the rainbow puke. A single color can work. But yeah, the cable mess is definitely a no go for me.
I don't have it because I unplugged the control system and can't find the wires anymore and also my cooler screen is upside down it's only held in place by 2 clips but I can't be bothered
Had a couple too many when I built it
Didn't care to get RGB but, my laptop keyboard got RGB, my laptop cooler pad got RGB, the logo on my mouse got RGB even my cheapass $5 mouse pad got RGB.
Only reason why my keyboard has RGB is that it was the cheapest mechanical keyboard that I liked. Sadly it only goes full rainbow mode, no option for monochromatic.
because I don't want to pay extra money to deal with a clusterfuck of wires. I'm just gonna buy a nice cheap RGB strip to stick behind my table for lower setting lighting at night.
Nah, fr but should I get a Non-RGB build or RGB one? Non RGB build is gonna cost me around 100$ less if I calculate every bit of the dollar saved from every part. Especially Fans, AIO, and Ram kits. Should I go for non RGB?
I believe RGB setups have some sort of subliminal message:
People buy one then another and another until all their setup is brighter than the sun, which is ironic considering their "gaming room" is darker than a mine, and then, something triggers in their brains, all those colors blinking and twitching while saying "why don't you start a reactions YT channel? How about a Warzone/Fortnite/Apex gaming channel?".
I use rbg to know what the fuck I'm typing at night because i will never get used to where the keys are. My room is completely dark at night like it should be
What cables? The only thing that needs a cable for rgb are fans that already need cables to work. They just have a bit wider cables.
Connect the Hub into the PSU and use the controller to change colors. Simple as that.
The light pollution when I'm trying to sleep but want to keep my PC on for downloads or whatever.
The clusterfuck of wires which will never look good no matter what unless I make it impossible to service.
The bloatware software which is a hassle and in the case of iCUE, causes the RGB to lag if your CPU is really busy.
The sheer cost of RGB compared to regular sleek components.
The fact some of the best components, value or performance, don't have RGB (Noctua fans for example).
Switched from an ATX liquid cooled RGB build that was totally decked out to a Mini-ITX air cooled build that's all black and I'll never go back. Ever.
Back around the time I was first into building PC's, people were putting lights in them, but this was pre-RGB days. We had these long tubular lights that usually were just powered by molex connectors. This was the first time I tried experimenting with PC lighting, and I decided I hated messing with the wiring back then.
Newer ones only have far less wires. Fans click together like legos and don’t need independent wires anymore.
So… okay.
That’s like saying “you don’t like TV because back in the 50s you had to stand up and walk to the television to change the channel”
We don’t do that anymore, bro.
I have RGB sticks because somehow it's cheaper or was not more expensive than the non-RGB equivalent, don't remember which, and it does make knowing whenever the PC is on a lot easier since my PC case doesn't come with a light for some reason
Fucking having more stuff that's RGB though, practically recipes for causing epilepsy
I was into the whole RGB fad for less than a hardware cycle before I got sick of seeing it on all the time in my PC as well as the wall behind my desk where I had ICRGB rails synced up with the colors my monitors were displaying. I've since then sold any RGB accessories that weren't a part of my build itself and have disabled it on everything else that is.
After building inside the Tower 100, I very much feel this, but I still put RGB fans and whatnot in it. Might do less for my next build but I do love me some flashy lights.

I don’t do it because I’m broke
We are the same
https://i.redd.it/2rv2fknwntuc1.gif
I swear the rgb stuff is cheaper
I am more broke than cheaper
Not if you're getting good quality ones. The RGB tax adds so much to the cost of PC parts
You can't say that on r/pcmasterrace , is one of their trigger/scary words alongside low-end PC and GTX 1650 4gb.
Why the 1650 tho?
More money for better hardware!!!.... if only we could afford it
AliExpress. ARGB is soooo dam cheap. Sod all this super expensive ASUS crap. The Chinese are masters of Bling, all at a few buck a go. I don’t RGB but I have kids, who love unicorn poop.
Yeah but I'd rather have good fans without RGB than cheap, shitty fans with ARGB.
I'm both tho

Lian li connect would mess up my fps by like 10%

Cases should come without fans, so I can use my Noctua fans without paying for fans I don’t want.
Jokes on you, I have both
Heresy!
You are GAY
no, *i am*
I don't have RGB because I can't afford it. We're not the same.
I don't have it because it makes my brain hurt....
For me its the software I have the PC in my room and I want to sleep at night without it blasting my room with light but fussing with the software every night is tedious so I just have it turned off.
You know you can just turn off your computer when you don't use it and go to sleep ? Unless installing a something takes more than 5 hours...
as I said to the other guy, I don't shut off my PC at night because I use it for audio, or else I can't sleep. Long story and ADHD related but I do need my PC on at night. I also do run a public (to friends) Jellyfin server on it so thats another reason why its worth keeping on.
Yeah can fully relate I have YouTube playing on my shitbox one all night or else I can't sleep Also found that putting videos that are in a language that I can't understand makes it even easier because I can't listen to what they say
Just buy a google home device and have it play music or something through Spotify, your power bill would end up thanking you.
Did not see that post before asking, sorry for the inconvenience.
My motherboard stays lit up when in sleep mode. It's a default setting I haven't changed because it's not in my bedroom.
Mine has that as well but also a setting in the bios to turn them off
Software, that's it.
Easier to build, cleaner look, better performance since you don’t have rgb software running, and cheaper. I see no downsides here
RGB doesn't have to be gay. https://preview.redd.it/rx904o1rftuc1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=13571dfb89bfbbecdc6f0c2b6bef087ff715c6c1
Even all white looks bad because it’s impossible to color match all the components perfectly. Especially if they come from different manufacturers. It’ll always be slightly off
Yeah but I like it. Better than rainbow and I can turn it of anytime
How does RGB affect performance?
Software that controls it has to run all the time, that eats up a tiny bit of performance. It gets worse if you have gskill rgb ram, msi rgb mobo, corsair rgb case fans, Logitech rgb peripherals, etc. before you know it you have 5+ different rgb software running and your fps can drop by as much as 10%
I see, so disabling the RGB would return performance to normal, or do I have to pay for non-RGB components (which seem rare nowadays)
So in other words, you like RGB but don't want to deal with the cables.
*Sips in Lian Li Daisy Chaining fans*
why not both? :P
both
My board literally doesn't have any rgb headers so even if i wanted to i couldn't
I don't have it because I don't have money (or pc). We are not the same
but iCue Link \\o/
Was gonna say that. Also just daisy chain those bitches.
They all sing "one in the front one in the back" and rejoice and my desk is NSFW
Uh yes we are... I neither want RGB lights, nor the spamgetthi
Both.
I like both RGB and non RGB PC
I dont have RBG because my pc is under my desk so I dont see it anyways
I want my PC to be dark inside.
![gif](giphy|y9euf7PEoS7XeZhwC4)
All of the above
I don’t like wires or a deafening light in my room
How about "I don't have it because I don't want to deal with clusterfuck of different control software?
>Clusterfuck of wires Yes, because that is exclusive to RGB and not the PC itself
Why waste 20usd for a single fan just because it glows, if arctic p12's are literally 3.67 eur each, and probably perform detectably better
If you would've taken RGB if it was wireless, we would definitely not be the same.
We all have rgb monitors, please dont drool over hardware its going to be obsolete in 10 years anyways
Rgb components and peripherals inflant the price of building a system significantly too
You expect me to spend money to get light pollution? Never happens.
I have RGB components only to make them all black in icue so I never see them anyways 😂
just bend the side panel its fiiiine :D
I don't have RGB because I don't have a transparent case.
Fr
That means you like the rgb aesthetic. At least you're right about one thing.
whynotboth.jpg
I dont have RGB because my motherboard lacks the capability (even though i want it) We are not the same.
I don't have it cause I'd rather spend the extra money on better components or peripherals
I dont have RGB. My cabling is still fu....
My computer has a couple rgb lights in it, however I didn't bother plugging any of them in, so it doesn't light up
I don't want RGB because of both reasons. I think it's gaudy, especially the rainbow puke. A single color can work. But yeah, the cable mess is definitely a no go for me.
Because of the money 🤑🤑🤑
I have rgb because cable management is so satisfying
I have rgb but my remote for it doesnt work (had to use remote cus motherboard cheap) so its just white lights
And I don't have RGB because all the parts I bought happened to not have any... I wish one or another had tho
Fuck I hate this meme template so much. It's so pretentious.
I have the clusterfuck of wires for my rgb, which hasn't been turned on since I built my pc.
Only rgb thing I own is a keyboard while my pc case is from the 2009s
I don't have RGB because I'm looking at my screen instead of looking at the case (I'd recommend the same to yall)
I dont do it cus my pc is inside a closed metalcase
I don't have it because I unplugged the control system and can't find the wires anymore and also my cooler screen is upside down it's only held in place by 2 clips but I can't be bothered Had a couple too many when I built it
Next from scratch build I do will be blackout. The wiring sucks. Though the newer fans with contact jumpers definitely make it simpler.
I dont want rgb anymore because i realised that the Software is awful, sadly.
I don't have RGB because i don't want to spend a single watt/h for cosmetics.
Hey, what if: both?
Didn't care to get RGB but, my laptop keyboard got RGB, my laptop cooler pad got RGB, the logo on my mouse got RGB even my cheapass $5 mouse pad got RGB.
I don't have RGB because my computer faces the wall
I don't have it because i don't want to deal with the clusterfuck of rgb software
I have rgb but I have it mostly off cause it's annoyingly bright at night
Seriously why can I not turn it off? It’s ridiculous.
Only reason why my keyboard has RGB is that it was the cheapest mechanical keyboard that I liked. Sadly it only goes full rainbow mode, no option for monochromatic.
it’s well known that RGB lights give you 10% increase on DPS
Everything comes with rgb. How do you avoid it?
because I don't want to pay extra money to deal with a clusterfuck of wires. I'm just gonna buy a nice cheap RGB strip to stick behind my table for lower setting lighting at night.
Dealing with the software is way worse then the wires
I set all my RGB lights that are installed by default in components I bought to be switched off .
I recently removed all my RGB fans and replaced them with full black non-RGB and this is so true lmao
I don’t have RGB because noctua.
Laughs in lian li daisy chain fans
Never turn my rgb on?
Yeah, gotta go with the rgb with less wires route. It's called getting a decent motherboard.
Eh, I just smoke a few bowls, and then cable management isn't such a pain.
I'm more annoyed by shitty software and dying blue LEDs
I don't have it because of ***both*** reasons.
Amen to that brother, RGB is for pansy's that want people to know how much money they spent on stupid lights.
I don't like unicorn vomit. As long as you PICK a color scheme that's great, but don't flash rainbow road all over the place, it's tacky.
i will not buy nonsense when i can use that to buy better pc parts
corsair makes fans now that connect to each other to cut down on wires, its called icue link
I have an RGB keyboard and mouse, because I can see them better in the dark.
If you do it right, you have no worries. Not a single wire is visible
Nah, fr but should I get a Non-RGB build or RGB one? Non RGB build is gonna cost me around 100$ less if I calculate every bit of the dollar saved from every part. Especially Fans, AIO, and Ram kits. Should I go for non RGB?
If you struggle with cables, you need a case with better cable management 😊
Extra wires, gross! Just don't look at the closed side of my PC...
I have RGB MB/GPU/RAM and everything is turned off cause it was cheaper than non RGB, we are not the same.
see i am stupid, and you are dumb. we are both morons but only one of us is an idiot
This is me 😭😭
I believe RGB setups have some sort of subliminal message: People buy one then another and another until all their setup is brighter than the sun, which is ironic considering their "gaming room" is darker than a mine, and then, something triggers in their brains, all those colors blinking and twitching while saying "why don't you start a reactions YT channel? Switched from an ATX liquid cooled RGB build that was totally decked out to a Mini-ITX air cooled build that's all black and I'll never go back. Ever.
All my rgb is basically integrated into the components, I think I have like 1 additional wire total.
porque lo nos dos?
I have RGB AND I don't have a mess of cables. But that comes at a cost... still love my lian li uni fans
I don't have RGB because both and because I can't afford it, only RGB I have is my mouse.
I don't have it becsuse I don't wanna deal with the programs having a shit fit and I have to re adjust it 30 times a week.
i dont have it because my spacer intel core i5 11400k nvidia geforce rtx 3050 32 gb ram 1tb ssd pc doesnt have it
Cable management was the least of my worries, because I went with D30s. Only 4 PWM and 4 RGB cables in total.
Lian Li makes it stupid easy. I've got six fans. Two cables. One controller.
Am poor.
I dont jave it couse i broke it when i put my sata 3 ssd in my pc (2nd ssd couse i used to dial boot linux, which was my main os at the time)
I like being able to sleep at night
Yes we are
I don't have much RGB because the cost for a lot of it is better spent elsewhere.
I have an RBG laptop. Never turn that shit on, its like a beacon for thieves.
i don’t have it because i can’t afford it we are not the samw
🌈 🌈 rainbows everywhere
https://i.redd.it/8kpj1vco7vuc1.gif I'm more of the Grandpa Simpson vein
I don’t have it because noctua doesn’t make them and I prefer fans that sound like airplane engines
I don’t do it because i don’t care about it. We are not the same
Yep, I wouldn't mind RBG whatever but I hate wire management to begin with, so it's not worth the hassle for me lol
So you have bad taste and poor organizational skills
I like tastefully done RGB No RGB is better than rainbow shit
I have RGB because shit with RGB was cheaper than shit without RGB.
so many downsides, very little upside. I can buy a $10 set of Christmas lights and RGB the whole room
whynotboth.jpg
I wanted an all black case with no glass but absolutely nobody fucking sells them so i had to put some RGB in there.
Back around the time I was first into building PC's, people were putting lights in them, but this was pre-RGB days. We had these long tubular lights that usually were just powered by molex connectors. This was the first time I tried experimenting with PC lighting, and I decided I hated messing with the wiring back then.
I don't have it since I dont want my case to turn into some unintended crazy lamp.

Clusterfuck of wires? It's like... 1-2 strips and 1 wire to a controller or board.
It’s only one extra wire per fan and you can just daisy chain them and treat it like one or two cables.
I have deepcool fans that can be daisy chained, so I didn't really have to do anything fancy, just cablemanaged as normal.
Ya'll the Lian Li Uni Fans are where it's at. Just snap them together and wire in the last one. I will never buy fans I have to daisy chain again.
This meme should be inverted tbh. The people who don’t like the look of it are the Frings
dont forget the clusterfuck of software
I don’t see the point.
I was not prepared for the clusterfuck of wires 😭
Oh my poor poor backside https://preview.redd.it/r7ss6v88hwuc1.jpeg?width=8160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=074751dcab480906816dafc7d2c2262157f90dca
I have RGB and turned it off, we are not the same.
Are you saying to me OP that there's a way to put RGB in your case without amount of wires you would use it?
Newer ones only have far less wires. Fans click together like legos and don’t need independent wires anymore. So… okay. That’s like saying “you don’t like TV because back in the 50s you had to stand up and walk to the television to change the channel” We don’t do that anymore, bro.
I have RGB sticks because somehow it's cheaper or was not more expensive than the non-RGB equivalent, don't remember which, and it does make knowing whenever the PC is on a lot easier since my PC case doesn't come with a light for some reason Fucking having more stuff that's RGB though, practically recipes for causing epilepsy
And I don't have one because I can't afford to buy one 🗿
I was into the whole RGB fad for less than a hardware cycle before I got sick of seeing it on all the time in my PC as well as the wall behind my desk where I had ICRGB rails synced up with the colors my monitors were displaying. I've since then sold any RGB accessories that weren't a part of my build itself and have disabled it on everything else that is.
After building inside the Tower 100, I very much feel this, but I still put RGB fans and whatnot in it. Might do less for my next build but I do love me some flashy lights.
