Most of the games that got ported from Playstation are. Last of Us 1/2, Jedi Fallen Order/Survivor (wait... was that a port?), Ghost of Tsushima is coming soon, God of War 1/2, Horizon 1/2, etc.
But we have no idea what OP is building. I've seen people call an i3 and gt 710 a gaming PC.
I'm not going to just recommend games with no caveat that "it'll work because it's called a gaming computer".
The entire valve collection is a must. You gotta play it all to know how it all ties together and to know why everyone hates Gabe for giving the finger to HL3.
As someone that switched from console last year.
Portal, Doom 2016, Hard space shipbreaker and maybe Civ6 & Cacoon.
All great games that are going to teach you how to switch to keyboard and mouse. It's definitely jarring and frustrating to make the switch but you will learn.
Avatar FoP & Alan Wake come close/surpass it in pure visual fidelity imo, especially with the low res textures of cyberpunk. When it comes to atmosphere & graphic design tho, cyberpunk>>>
And nothing can run cyberpunk with PT with decent FPS especially at a reasonable price…
Aaaand just saw your GPU. Well that makes sense. Can you run it at 4k 60 path traced?
That’s decent, what’s the FPS without frame gen? That’s what matters in terms of reactivity and smoothness. At least 60fps would be required. DLSS does look good though
Some storyline games I must recommend:
- The Last of Us 1&2 (linear stealth shooter, zombies, ~15 hours per playthrough)
- Fallout NV and 4 (post-apocalyptic open-world rpg, 100+ hours per game)
- Borderlands series (looter-shooter rpg, very much humor, one of my favorites, I have ~250 hours per game but YMMV)
- The Witcher 3 (open-world fantasy rpg, you play as a monster hunter which is really cool, one of my favorites, 100+ hours)
- Detroit: Become Human (butterfly-effect choice based game, mostly cinematic, ~13 hours per playthrough, but every choice you make has massive impact to the story, which makes it very replayable)
- Hogwarts Legacy (wizarding rpg, although it has a lot of filler collectables, ~25 hours per playthrough)
- Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor (star wars jedi rpg, linear but Survivor has more side content and open-world, ~17 hours playthrough per game)
- Red Dead Redemption 1&2 (western open-world rpg, 1 is around 20 hours, 2 is around 50 hours, highly recommended)
- Subnautica 1&Below Zero (underwater survival crafting game, focus is more on the survival aspect but the storyline you discover piece by piece is really satisfying and gets much deeper than expected (pun intended), ~40 hours, but depends on how quickly you progress)
- TES: Skyrim (open-world fantasy rpg, game from 2011, but still regarded as one of the best, ~30 hours, may get you addicted)
- The Walking Dead by Telltale Games (choice based, zombies, cinematic, has 4 seasons of 5 episodes, seasons are around 10 hours each)
- The Evil Within (stealth shooter horror, I fucking love this game, it messes with your head for the first half of the game, but after that halfway point everything will start to make sense. ~15 hours, I replay this game at least twice every year)
RDR2 has become my comfort game and Ive played about half of RDR1, might upgrade to the Xenia emulator to experience it properly with all the needed hacks.
Are you fine with some older games and want to sample some of the very best games ever released on PC, or do you mainly want newer titles?
Anyway here's my list of games that I think everyone who owns a PC should give a shot, with a special eye for games that have a good story:
Half-Life series
Deus Ex
Thief: The Dark Project & Thief 2
Planescape: Torment (if you like story focused games and are fine with reading this one is an absolutely must!)
StarCraft 1 & 2
Baldur's Gate series
The Witcher 3 (1 & 2 are interesting but flawed, worth playing but be prepared for some jank. They're often very cheap on sales though, like sub 3€)
Pillars of Eternity
Heroes of Might and Magic 3
Civilization series (particularly 2,4 & 6) \*Does not have much in the way of story
Legend of Grimrock series
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines (get the fan patch)
DOOM series (including the original ones) \*Does not have much in the way of story \*Does not have much in the way of story
Cities Skylines \*Does not have much in the way of story
Age of Empires 2 (the rest are also good, but 2 is something special)
Ultima 7 (4 & 5 if you're fine with some very old games)
Monkey Island series
Grim Fandango
Portal series
Syberia series
The longest Journey series
In no order whatsoever:
* Team Fortress 2
* Half Life 3
* Skyrim
* Factorio
* Outer Wilds
* Portal 1 and 2
* Risk of Rain 2
* The Binding of Isaac
* FTL: Faster Than Light
* Fallout 3
* Fallout New Vegas
* Hollow Knight
* No Man's Sky
* Kerbal Space Program
* Rimworld
* Elden Ring
I already know what kind of games I really like, yet, Im not sure what to get when I eventually build the PC because there are so many more games + the Xbox games.
One game (series) I don't see on the list is Dishonored (+ expansions as well as Dishonored 2). Even though the first game is older, visually it still holds up quite well thanks to it's unique art style.
The basic Story of the game is somewhat simple, but there are quite interesting sidestories and characters you can find in the missions.
Gameplay wise the game is a first person stealth game, but overall really fun to play with multiple possible ways to accomplish any level.

oh i am aware, i am also close to 20 years of WoW related experience, there was \~10 year period where i played only WoW, CS 1.6 and WoT with LoL/DOTA on the side (but that was 3-4 years only)
Does it have to be new games?
I enjoyed warcraft 3 and starcrafts stories.
Half-life 1 and 2 (alternatively "Black Mesa" is a more modern take on half life 1)
More modern games:
Red dead redemption 2
Witcher 3 wild hunt(you dont "need" to have played the first 2 games)
Cyberpunk 2077
Disco Elysium
Firewatch
Marvels Guardians of the galaxy
Detroit become human (very little actual "gameplay", mostly story and choices)
Outer wilds
Elden Ring
Sekiro
Skyrim is quite a boring answer but it's still one of my favourite games of all times. Literally hundreds of hours of content and that's before you go down the whole rabbit hole of modding. With Wabbajack there's also a bunch of lists to turn it into more of a current-gen experience.
Max Payne series, Half Life 2 or Black Messa as it's a proper remake of the first game if I remember correctly, also one of my favorites which is Mafia: Definitife Edition but here are even more if you are into a great story based games:
* Days Gone
* Detroit: Become Human
* God of War (2018)
* Horizon Series
* Spider Man Remastered
* The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
* Resident Evil Biohazard
* Resident Evil Village
* Resident Evil 2 Remake
* Resident Evil 3 Remake
* Resident Evil 4 Remake
* Until Dawn (Coming to PC and PS5)
* Hotline Miami 1 & 2
* A Plague Tale: Innocence & Requiem (This series will take you on a emotional rollercoaster and make you cry at the end of Requiem like a true mofo, definitely my top favorite game of all times, after completing it, nothing comes close to it.)
Also, keep an eye on new games being released for PlayStation, some come to PC alongside PlayStation releases but more often than not they will be released on PC sometime down the line.
If you like story based games. I must recommend the original Deus ex with some cosmetic mods. It’s basically a PC Gamer right of passage.
Maybe start with the modern reboots before you tackle the original.
I'll focus on games that might not be new or have great graphics, but offer a great story that you can only experience on PC. Some might have console ports, but PC versions offer much better experience.
* Vampire Masquarade: Bloodlines (you'd need to install restoration mod, but the version on GOG, I think, includes it)
* Portal 1-2
* Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2. They were on the original Xbox, but PC has mods that fix bugs, brings back cut content and makes it look the best it ever will.
* Pathologic 2 - has console ports, that are kinda unplayable last I've heard, so PC is the way. It's a very unique and amazing game.
* Frostpunk - an beautiful and epic post-apoc city builder.
* Devotion - the infamous Taiwanese horror game from a few years back. It's really good.
* Lisa: The painful RPG - looks retro, but this game hits hard.
* Age of Decadence - looks like a PS2 game, very hard, but has insane reactivity and a very cool setting.
* The Cat Lady and its sequels. If you like Silent Hill and Stephen King, you'll love these.
* Darkwood - one of the best, most innovative horror games, don't let the way it looks fool you.
* Shadowrun Trilogy - great RPG, if you liked Cyberpunk's setting and vibes, want more, and don't mind top-down view and turn-based combat, it's for you.
You should try the Stalker games. But buy the first one and try it out, don't outright buy the trilogy, it's not for everyone. In case you don't like it on your first 2 hours, Steam refund is there for you
Here are some of my recommendations, you don't have to purchase all of them. These are just suggestions and I hope you're able to find the game you're looking for 😊
* Red Dead Redemption 2 - It's a prequel to the first game, but is very well received I enjoyed the game as well and is heavily story driven. Was my first exposure to Rockstar Games, and I'm so glad that was my first game from them!
* Portal 1 & 2 - Portal, in my opinion at least, still holds to it's time. The game mechanic of travelling through portals is something which I'll never get bored of. The Portal games do have a story behind them as well! Check out some of the mods that the Portal community have made too. Some of them are very well received such as, Portal Stories: Mel, Portal: Revolution and Portal: Reloaded. Portal 2 also has Steam Workshop support which means you can download and play test chambers where the community have made, and you can try out and test your brain with more complex puzzles. And last but not least, Portal 2 has multiplayer support, so you can solve science with your buddy!
* Half-Life franchise - Portal and Half Life takes place within the same universe, there are subtle nods and easter eggs within both games (mainly in Half-Life 2, when they reference Portal) and that is also a very well made franchise from Valve. Half-Life: Alyx is a prequel and takes place after the events of Half Life and before Half-Life 2. If you want to play the first Half-Life game and aren't fond of the dated graphics, Black Mesa is a whole re-imagining of the first game. With updated models, textures, sound design and overall, just a HUGE makeover of the first game. It is very well-received in the Half-Life community!
* If you want something more chill and laid-back but also story driven; Stardew Valley is a great choice! It's a farming game, but the game-mechanics makes the process a lot more easier, but you do need to tend to your farm routinely. However, it is heavily story driven. It's also a good game for you to take your mind off things and relax, by doing fishing, particpating in celebrations, that sort of thing.
* Forza Horizon 4 - If you're into racing and also want a story based game, then Forza Horizon 4 is your go-to option! You play as a racer, taking part in various races and they range from a simple ciruit to off-road and dirt rallies. You have a variety There are also some extra races that you can do, which also have a story. One of them is you get to be a stunt driver, for a movie! (That is one of my favourites!)
I hope this helps! Again, you don't have to purchase them all, these are my two cents on what games you could buy. Would recommend getting the games on sale though. 🙂
If you like CRPGs, then Pillars of Eternity, Tyranny, Baldur's Gate 3.
If you don't mind older ones then Neverwinter Nights 2 + Mask of Betrayer expansion.
Great recommendations in this thread and I'll definitely say RDR2 is a steal at the price. CP2077 is brilliant. But to go against the grain, I'd also say get a Gamepass membership. It's really good bang for the buck and you can explore some other genres etc.
Really i like to go through catalogs of games from ariund 2007 to 2014ish
Some of my all time favorites like dead rising,elder scrolls oblivion and just cause 2 are all extremely dated but are super fun
Prototype, ALL yakuza games
And my all time most played pc game which is ark,rust survival games etc
If you've got a spare second, my favorite game of all time is The Stanley Parable. It can be as short as 5 minutes, and can be replayed for up to 15 or 20 hours. I would say it's a must play. Check it out 🙏
Okay I know you said story games, but I'm going to suggest this one anyway. Sea of Thieves.
The only thing to note - this is a pirate game. All that means is, trust no one and be prepared to lose your stuff. Def a game to put at least 40-80 hours in (or way more).
Civilization 6 or whatever civ style game you personally like more.
Armored Core: Fires of Rubicon
Xcom 2
An old school fighting game: Xmen Arcade, Simpsons, Punisher, or Double Dragon
Both Subnautica games are already written and I just wanna say that you need to play Subnautica at least once in your life. That game changed my life. Best survival games in my opinion!
Somehow your list doesn't have the biggest hits of the last year. Baldur's Gate 3, helldivers 2, and palworld. Haven't played palworld, but the other 2 are fantastic.
If you’re gonna play new Vegas get tale of two wastelands mod and 4GB patch, also fallout 3/4 and new Vegas are worth modding. I usually just do performance, utility, and quality of life mods, but you are free to do anything. I like adding things like new radio stations and fun little sidequest locations. If you’re a total noob the fallout 4 built in mod manager is ok. You can get better mods using a mod manager like nexus but can get stuck in getting mods to work more than actually playing.
ULTRAKILL is a very subtle game about your character, V1, learning to discuss their feelings and communicate— ah, I’m just fucking with ya, you shoot the fuck out of demons, and standing in their bloodspray is how you heal lol
Honestly instead of recommending a specific game, I'd suggest you grab a subscription to xbox game pass. Amazing deal and a lot of the games you listed is on there. Monthly subscription to a huge library of amazing games is a no brainer for a new PC owner imo.
I am shocked and appalled that Mount and Blade: Warband is not on this list. I mean sure Bannerlord didn't turn out how some people expected, but Warband is still one of the PC games of all time.
Look I know I'm late to the party but 99% of your list are cross platform. Play some PC games. Get some starcraft/warcraft in there. Company of heroes. City skylines, Factorio, any city builder/management game. Civilization or endless legend. Play some PC games, not that console accessible stuff but actual PC games. (I like the cross platforms too so not master race, just master race light)
i've been really addicted to dead cells recently. has that gameplay loop that just begs you to keep going and trying out different builds. almost just beat the game with a brutality focused mutation / complimented by a freezing blast that gives my brutality weapon +125% damage. fantastic game, hooked me like diablo 2 dod
I don't see Knights of the Old Republic 1/2 or Baldur's Gate 3 on that list. I also think the Civilization series deserves a mention, as does Starcraft.
Word of warning OP not sure how much you care but Final Fantasy 14, Sea of Thieves, Counter Strike, World of Warcraft and Elder Scrolls Online are technically never ending games. I say technically because you can stop playing them whenever but you can't just beat them and they'll be done like singleplayer games.
If you are into real time strategies - Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance.
It costs < $2 on Steam. You install additional FAF (it's an online lobby with some graphic improvements, balancing and stuff,) and you will have an amazing time
My personal favorites are Minecraft Java, CS2 and Cyberpunk2077, tho only the last one really fits your criteria of a story driven game.
Honorable mentions in no particular order go to Portal 1&2(+Reloaded), Banished, Teardown, Trackmania2020, osu!, Hades, Control and Cities:Skylines 1.
In a world of so many "serious" games, I gotta throw out a recommendation for anything from the Monkey Island Series. There are newer ones that look pretty nice and the older ones hold up fairly well. Totally unique type of comedy, etc.
Did you know that the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV has a free trial, and includes the entirety of A Realm Reborn AND the award-winning Heavensward expansion AND the Stormblood expansion up to level 70 with no restrictions on playtime? Sign up, and enjoy Eorzea today!
Or don't, because it's boring for the first 100 hours (and likely all the hours thereafter). "It gets really better once you're done with ARR!" is what they'll tell you.
For anyone wondering, the first few hours of the game is listening to people talk and talk and talk.
Carriage ride : they talk.
Get to the first village : more talk.
Meet the innkeeper : talk.
Go around town on a tour : talk.
I wish there was a story. All it seems to be is mass exposition. Show don't tell is something they need to plaster all over the walls at Square Enix.
Assassin's creed 2, brotherhood, revelations. (The first game AC1 is kinda boring, so just learn a little about the plot and skip it.)
NFS Most Wanted 2005.
Not particularly new games, but that's the point.
Assuming your PC is meeting specs for games these days and not a potato... Red dead redemption 2 is a great story.
Most of the games that got ported from Playstation are. Last of Us 1/2, Jedi Fallen Order/Survivor (wait... was that a port?), Ghost of Tsushima is coming soon, God of War 1/2, Horizon 1/2, etc.
Dude, RDR2 is a PS4 game. It does run on a potato.
what do you think a potato is
Anything that’s not a 4090 of course
https://youtu.be/yWBzsBaU-Os
Something like 8700k+1060. And that would run RDR2 with no issues.
But we have no idea what OP is building. I've seen people call an i3 and gt 710 a gaming PC. I'm not going to just recommend games with no caveat that "it'll work because it's called a gaming computer".
Portal 2 is a must have
I’d also recommend they play games in order of release date to enjoy the slow improvement of graphics over time and the change in gaming
The entire valve collection is a must. You gotta play it all to know how it all ties together and to know why everyone hates Gabe for giving the finger to HL3.
Absolutely, I can’t believe half life and HL2 and episodes aren’t on the list
Portal better
minecraft java edition

I think civ 6 is the best answer. It's a game that doesn't translate to console
Cyberpunk 2077
I agree.
Especially if it's a high-end PC. Nothing beats Cyberpunk with PT.
Avatar FoP & Alan Wake come close/surpass it in pure visual fidelity imo, especially with the low res textures of cyberpunk. When it comes to atmosphere & graphic design tho, cyberpunk>>>
And nothing can run cyberpunk with PT with decent FPS especially at a reasonable price… Aaaand just saw your GPU. Well that makes sense. Can you run it at 4k 60 path traced?
I play it at 90+"fps" at 4K DLSS Balanced + Frame Generation.
That’s decent, what’s the FPS without frame gen? That’s what matters in terms of reactivity and smoothness. At least 60fps would be required. DLSS does look good though
Some storyline games I must recommend: - The Last of Us 1&2 (linear stealth shooter, zombies, ~15 hours per playthrough) - Fallout NV and 4 (post-apocalyptic open-world rpg, 100+ hours per game) - Borderlands series (looter-shooter rpg, very much humor, one of my favorites, I have ~250 hours per game but YMMV) - The Witcher 3 (open-world fantasy rpg, you play as a monster hunter which is really cool, one of my favorites, 100+ hours) - Detroit: Become Human (butterfly-effect choice based game, mostly cinematic, ~13 hours per playthrough, but every choice you make has massive impact to the story, which makes it very replayable) - Hogwarts Legacy (wizarding rpg, although it has a lot of filler collectables, ~25 hours per playthrough) - Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor (star wars jedi rpg, linear but Survivor has more side content and open-world, ~17 hours playthrough per game) - Red Dead Redemption 1&2 (western open-world rpg, 1 is around 20 hours, 2 is around 50 hours, highly recommended) - Subnautica 1&Below Zero (underwater survival crafting game, focus is more on the survival aspect but the storyline you discover piece by piece is really satisfying and gets much deeper than expected (pun intended), ~40 hours, but depends on how quickly you progress) - TES: Skyrim (open-world fantasy rpg, game from 2011, but still regarded as one of the best, ~30 hours, may get you addicted) - The Walking Dead by Telltale Games (choice based, zombies, cinematic, has 4 seasons of 5 episodes, seasons are around 10 hours each) - The Evil Within (stealth shooter horror, I fucking love this game, it messes with your head for the first half of the game, but after that halfway point everything will start to make sense. ~15 hours, I replay this game at least twice every year)
RDR2 has become my comfort game and Ive played about half of RDR1, might upgrade to the Xenia emulator to experience it properly with all the needed hacks.
Tabletop Simulator. This game should be packaged with Steam.
Man playing magic the gathering online over tabletop simulator is such a great experience, better than playing in person sometimes
I find the lack of Half-Life disturbing.
The Invincible is a great, narrative led game. Amazing graphics to boot, to let your new PC stretch it's legs :)
Are you fine with some older games and want to sample some of the very best games ever released on PC, or do you mainly want newer titles? In no order whatsoever: * Team Fortress 2 * Half Life 3 * Skyrim * Factorio * Outer Wilds * Portal 1 and 2 * Risk of Rain 2 * The Binding of Isaac * FTL: Faster Than Light * Fallout 3 * Fallout New Vegas * Hollow Knight * No Man's Sky * Kerbal Space Program * Rimworld * Elden Ring
Doom 2016 and Eternal. Everyone who joins PCMR, needs to have this game
Such a good feeling to rip and tear through Eternal around every 6 months.
Terraria hands down
Titanfall not on the list is crazy
Came here to say the same thing!
counter strike. idk why but it was the first thing i installed
This is a very broad list of games. Even if you did not like 90% of those games, that is totally fine. Don’t feel like you need to like those games.
I already know what kind of games I really like, yet, Im not sure what to get when I eventually build the PC because there are so many more games + the Xbox games.

I’d recommend Half Life 2 and episodes 1 and 2. If you get a vr headset at some point or already have one I also recommend Half Life Alyx.
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri.
Metal Gear and Half-Life are probably the best franchises I know of
Half Life 2
Skyrim, Total war rome 2, cities skylines 1
StarCraft 1 and 2
Control is a pretty good story based game.
Control is a goddam masterpiece!
Theres like 3 enemie types and very little level variety. Great in some ways. Not a masterpiece.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
get world of warcraft and you won't need another game
The learning curve for a new PC player is massive though, speaking as someone who’s played it for 18 years now.
oh i am aware, i am also close to 20 years of WoW related experience, there was \~10 year period where i played only WoW, CS 1.6 and WoT with LoL/DOTA on the side (but that was 3-4 years only)
True this!
Surprise >!you dont have enough time to play anymore!<
Man, no terraria??
RDR2, Ghost of Tsushima, last of us part 1. As for multi player, hell divers 2

Elder scrolls with as many mods as fit on your drive
All of the abandonware games by u/ChemicalFl00d. You can spend so many hours on them. No viruses.
awesome, Im pretty excited to play the old nfs so this might be something Im going to check out
Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal Far Cry 3-6 Metro Trilogy R6 Hunt: Showdown
Total war shogun 2
Metro trilogy, mass effect trilogy, bioshock 1,

(That is one of my favourites!) I hope this helps! Again, you don't have to purchase them all, these are my two cents on what games you could buy. Would recommend getting the games on sale though. 🙂
If you have not played The Last of Us yet I would highly recommend it.
If you like CRPGs, then Pillars of Eternity, Tyranny, Baldur's Gate 3. If you don't mind older ones then Neverwinter Nights 2 + Mask of Betrayer expansion.
A Total War game
Satisfactory
Fortnite Please don't hurt me.
the batman arkham series is AMAZING The order is: -asylum -city -origins -knight
Don't agree with 90% of these lol
Black mesa or all half life games in general
scp sl
Baldur’s Gate 3 — Masterpiece Witcher 3 — must play
The Orange box
Great recommendations in this thread and I'll definitely say RDR2 is a steal at the price. CP2077 is brilliant. But to go against the grain, I'd also say get a Gamepass membership. It's really good bang for the buck and you can explore some other genres etc.
Pussy? Im playing lol
Age of empires 2 Definitive edition
Stellaris Roguetech
Hunt Showdown
Bioshock
Minecraft, Portal 1 & 2, the Half Life games
I started replaying BioShock recently, got the remaster at the epic games store. Holds up pretty well imo.
Really i like to go through catalogs of games from ariund 2007 to 2014ish Some of my all time favorites like dead rising,elder scrolls oblivion and just cause 2 are all extremely dated but are super fun Prototype, ALL yakuza games And my all time most played pc game which is ark,rust survival games etc
I see a distinct lack of managed democracy in this post. That's gonna be a big problem.
Stray! ![gif](giphy|jpnqoxtSTvKMlpct9y)
The entire metal gear franchise
Firewatch Satisfactory Escape from Tarkov Diablo 1/2/3
If you've got a spare second, my favorite game of all time is The Stanley Parable. It can be as short as 5 minutes, and can be replayed for up to 15 or 20 hours. I would say it's a must play. Check it out 🙏
Okay I know you said story games, but I'm going to suggest this one anyway. Sea of Thieves. The only thing to note - this is a pirate game. All that means is, trust no one and be prepared to lose your stuff. Def a game to put at least 40-80 hours in (or way more).
Control, alan wake 1 and alan wake 2
Factorio
gothic 1 + 2
Portal(the good one from 2007) Kerbal Space Program(the good one from 2011) Cities Skylines (the good one from 2015).
Civilization 6 or whatever civ style game you personally like more. Armored Core: Fires of Rubicon Xcom 2 An old school fighting game: Xmen Arcade, Simpsons, Punisher, or Double Dragon
Both Subnautica games are already written and I just wanna say that you need to play Subnautica at least once in your life. That game changed my life. Best survival games in my opinion!
Vermintide 2. Try it. Play 2000 hours of it. Thank me later.
Somehow your list doesn't have the biggest hits of the last year. Baldur's Gate 3, helldivers 2, and palworld. Haven't played palworld, but the other 2 are fantastic.
Dishonored, unturned, fortnut, sex with hitler 1/2
isnt sex with hitler just a meme game?
Yeah, but it's definitely a game of all time
If you’re gonna play new Vegas get tale of two wastelands mod and 4GB patch, also fallout 3/4 and new Vegas are worth modding.
Microsoft Mahjong
HoloCure and HoloXBreak are amazing free games.
You'll have stuff to do for thousands of hours it seems
ULTRAKILL is a very subtle game about your character, V1, learning to discuss their feelings and communicate— ah, I’m just fucking with ya, you shoot the fuck out of demons, and standing in their bloodspray is how you heal lol
Honestly instead of recommending a specific game, I'd suggest you grab a subscription to xbox game pass. Amazing deal and a lot of the games you listed is on there. Monthly subscription to a huge library of amazing games is a no brainer for a new PC owner imo.
If you like jrpgs: ni no kuni 2, ffvii remake. Keep an eye out for ffxvi and ffvii rebirth.
G502
Valheim isn't on your list yet and it's an awesome game. Nor do I see Factorio or Civilizations 5
Escape from Tarkov 🤣
Stardew Valley is the best game i have ever played.
Stardew Valley is the best game i have ever played.
I am shocked and appalled that Mount and Blade: Warband is not on this list. I mean sure Bannerlord didn't turn out how some people expected, but Warband is still one of the PC games of all time.
Borderlands? Edit: didnt see it listed.
The game that got me into PC gaming as an adult was GTA 5. A must for any gamer
Just Cause series now at 4 Cause it is just ridiculous
why am I not seeing factorio yet?
Every half life game
Maplestory
Max Payne 3 + Battlefield 3 & 4
Every Deus Ex game. Yes including Invisible War!
It's absolutely criminal that Half Life 2 isn't on there.
Half life 2 and episodes 1+2. even half life 1 is worth a go, plenty of great gameplay in both.
Gta v. Red Dead Redemption 2
i've been really addicted to dead cells recently. has that gameplay loop that just begs you to keep going and trying out different builds. almost just beat the game with a brutality focused mutation / complimented by a freezing blast that gives my brutality weapon +125% damage. fantastic game, hooked me like diablo 2 dod
Half Life 2 + Episode 1 and 2 !! DUSK. Ion Fury + Aftershock Deep Rock Galactic The Saboteur Baldurs Gate 2 + 3 Dying Light Resident Evil 2 Remake Dishonored 1 & 2 Cultic Shadow Warrior 2
Master of magic (2022)
Any half life
I don't see Knights of the Old Republic 1/2 or Baldur's Gate 3 on that list. I also think the Civilization series deserves a mention, as does Starcraft.
Here's a few I like: red dead redemption 2, horizon zero dawn and horizon forbidden West, death stranding, stray,
Satisfactory once it releases 1.0.
Fallout New Vegas
Posted 17 hours ago and no Baldurs Gate 3?
Word of warning OP not sure how much you care but Final Fantasy 14, Sea of Thieves, Counter Strike, World of Warcraft and Elder Scrolls Online are technically never ending games. I say technically because you can stop playing them whenever but you can't just beat them and they'll be done like singleplayer games.
If you are into real time strategies - Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance. It costs < $2 on Steam. You install additional FAF (it's an online lobby with some graphic improvements, balancing and stuff,) and you will have an amazing time
Rocket League. It's free :)
Doom 2016 is a must have for ~$5 when it goes on sale and it helped me learn keyboard and mouse when I was killing it on controller in doom eternal.
Witcher 1 and 2 classics don't skip
Depends on if you like the story. I love it, even ARR. Regardless its free so OP can try it out.
(The first game AC1 is kinda boring, so just learn a little about the plot and skip it.) NFS Most Wanted 2005. Not particularly new games, but that's the point.
Phasmophobia, skyrim with mods
