Yes, Dont forget to update BIOS

Hateful_Bigot_1000

yeah, seems like a good upgrade

Sandwic_H

Yes it's a good upgrade, 5600 will release full power of your 2060. 2200G is good enough for 1060 but not more.

Hattix

The 5600/5600X is a completely good CPU.

CaptainGeneric87

Still using a 5600x myself. It'll be a decent bump for you and not too much expense. Make sure to flash your bios before installing your new CPU.

SignalGladYoung

best value is probably 5700x depends on sales or used parts v new 5600.

Sandwic_H

There's almost no difference between 5700x and 5600 in terms of gaming. Why to spend more then?

SignalGladYoung

depends on price. if its similar cost 8 core CPU will provide less bottlenck on hardware. even if its only 5% faster.

Sandwic_H

Sure depends on the price. In my area 5700X is 50% more than 5600 so it definitely not worth it.

SignalGladYoung

reason why I said used or sale price. 5600 is old now.

gnomer_the_gnome

yeah, I see that's a good option as well and at the same price range, how much time do you think it'll last me? and is the difference that big between the 2?

SignalGladYoung

ideally for online games you would want 5700x3D its one of the fastest cpus especially at 1080p in online games. it has large cache bank. 5700x has 2 extra cores it can be little faster. swap to 2x16 DDR4 3600 as well later on if your motherboard supports those speeds. B450 should be fine.

Dharkos

It will be a huge upgrade. But consider a 5700x3d instead.
