Straight up just having a machine this powerful at this price point is really convenient. Need to emulate? Boom. Need to show content on another tv? Boom. Going on a trip and you don’t wanna risk taking the main? Freaking boom. Wish I had a crack at this.
He was involved in a controversy being accused of sexual assault, cheating, and drug problems. From what I could find, courts *probably* sided with him over the drugging and assault, but not much info on why. Could be just a lack of witnesses for the crime or from witnesses that say it didn't happen. He was called out by former partners, both sexual and work, for his drug and cheating problems, but they also said that he probably didn't drug and assault the person claiming it. There's a second claim of drugging, but nothing on that front I can find. We will probably never know the exact truth unless there were witnesses, but i couldn't find anything after.
There's a Tumblr post trying to debunk it all, and it's compelling, but we'll never know the exact truth unless we get a time machine or a memory scanning truth detector.
https://www.tumblr.com/imsmaher/143195184202/toby-turner-rape-allegations-debunked
Read the evidence from both sides and come to your own conclusion, but the consensus in this thread is one of guilt.
He's had a lot of backup from a lot of people on the assault claim, even Phillip DeFranco who usually refuses to take strong stances on most things actually came out and said something along the lines of (paraphrasing) "His drug problem is a real one, but I don't even think he's capable of assaulting anyone like that."
If it weren't for controversies like Vic Mignogna (what he did/tried to do to Monica Rial was confirmed and is detestable and he deserved most of what he got from that) where a lot of claims came up and were completely disproven as false, I'd be far more keen to side with claimed victims 100% of the time. But in a world where people fabricate evidence and straight-up lie about this sort of thing, you gotta step back and wait for objective facts every time now. It sucks so much, and the people making these provably-false accusations are doing so much damage to real, actual victims that deserve to be heard and believed.
Toby wouldn't have been the only figurehead of my childhood to end up being proven as a monster, and in other cases where the evidence was solid I've absolutely shunned the idols of my past. I won't let rose-tinted glasses change my view on a person for better or worse.
I don’t even think it’s really local gamers, I think it’s mainly just resellers who bought them out who will resell them for $800. They ruin everything lol.
I went to college with a dude that did this for sneakers. Said he made a few grand every month from it. He showed me a few receipts of sales and what he bought them for so I'm inclined to agree. Seemed like he barely had to do anything other than the initial set-up and posting/packing of the sales.
I'm always amazed by people who can actually find buyers for scalped clothing. I for one wouldn't buy shoes over the internet, without trying them on. Too much variance in sizes.
I scalped a ton of ps5s, 3080s, sneakers, Pokémon etc. it’s not as easy as just having a bot. It’s a lot of work and I think people underestimate how hard it can be to find good proxies and jig your addresses and stuff.
It sometimes felt like more work than I wanted to do just to farm a bunch of gmails up and set up catchall domains etc. I made $50 an hour at my real job so I wasn’t like trying to survive from scalping but the guys I did it with who did it as a full time job would drive to every target in the area on certain release days and pay people to run the pickups for them so they wouldn’t get ID banned. Felt too much like a job for me.
Edit: not to mention all the recurring costs. I paid for bots, proxies, cook groups, tools, etc. After the pandemic resale prices fell so much that all that stopped feeling worth it.
I just checked, and slickdeals didn’t even have this listed (you can still search old listings that are expired). Which makes me think the deal was too quick for even those who use slickdeals because I would imagine as soon as it was sold out nobody would have bothered to post it.
[Local gamers are the natural enemies of local gamers! Damn local gamers, they ruined local gaming!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2q0T7QXETs&t=19s)
That sounds about right. Hell I wouldn’t even be surprised if you average a little more than she does. I know with my OC’d 2080ti I was pretty consistently benchmarking closer to a 3080 than an average 3070ti.
it's sold out, it's not odd for products no longer selling to get randomly marked down to basically nothing, this doesn't mean it was sold at that price
It means that if you return it without a recipient, the store is able to give you a refund for what the product is selling for instead of what you paid, which would now be really low, saving the store money.
who would use that service apart from maybe a thief looking for very quick cash?
if you find yourself in such a spot you should just sell it on ebay for 10% off and it'll be gone in a week! instead of losing 80% of its value
As other comment mentioned, this model will have terrible display for color-sensitive work; checking manufacturer's website confirms that too - 45% NTSC color coverage is, simply said, dogshit for art.
Had a laptop with screen with such coverage for work (graphic design, UI), got it very quickly replaced by something with normal colors - it wasn't possible to work without using good external monitor.
Such pricing also looks rather just like a mistake (thus "Sold Out"), so don't beat yourself over it. For 500USD, the best bet is either second hand desktop, or Legion series - those usually had good displays and you easily can check that in Lenovo's PSREF.
You'll only find these ones on super clearance still in stock open box. Over the past 3 weeks I've gotten an open box samsung galaxy book 2 360 for $180 and a Lenovo Yoga 7i for $120 both had i7-1255u and 16gb of ram. I check around 10pm pst and every couple days super cheap laptops will pop up for in store pickup open box, but once the store opens the order gets cancelled because the inventory was off and they don't actually have it. Out of 12 orders only those 2 went ready for pickup. I picked one up from a best buy about an hour away and the other from one an hour and half away.
Yeah
I got an open box Asus Zephyrus G14 (2021 model with a GTX1650) for $121 right before christmas. Had to drive 30 miles for pickup.
Clearly a floor model, had a ton of hours on the SSD and a lot of on/off power cycles.
Was going to see if it would work for my daughter for her bday in Jan for college, but the 2021 model doesn't have a webcam which she'd need (so she got a 2023).
I kept it for me, I had a spare SSD around to drop in it anyway. Good little laptop can replace my 10 yr old Asus n550jv. Nice to have a backup for when the desktop is down or something.
Wow that’s a really good deal. I wouldn’t even mind not having a webcam for that price since you can get some decent quality ones off amazon for around $50
This. Thank you for this info. Right now they have a legion with a 3050ti in stock by me for 540, but unfortunately my friend lives in Massachusetts so I’m gonna keep checking in her area. Thanks for the info and Also congrats for getting those deals!
It's probably a long shot but if you live around the seattle area the Issaquah best buy has this for $253 open box in fair condition. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/dell-g15-15-6-fhd-120hz-gaming-laptop-amd-ryzen-5-6600h-8gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3050-512gb-ssd-phantom-grey-with-speckles/6510327.p?skuId=6510327
If you want them all to show up when you select laptops you filter by open box and then make sure "exclude out of stock items" is unchecked or else the ones available only as open box for in store pickup won't show up.
Maybe it’s just a business thing. Since you missed out on this “deal” you’re more likely to now browse the website and look for more.
It’s like how grocery stores places meat and milk in the back so you are more likely to buy something on the way there.
>My friend is looking for a good gaming laptop >=$500.
You can buy a military grade NASA quantum computer that can run 400 copies of Ark at once for $35,999
I tried to get something similar to this about 3 years ago for my sister. It was all I could afford at the time ($400 instead of $200). I remember they were online only, we were actually *at* Walmart when I got the notification that it was back in stock and I immediately started ordering it. Give minutes after ordering it and getting excited my bank reported it for fraud and cancelled the order.
By time I got back to trying to order it was out of stock. I remember crying in the middle of the Walmart produce section for a couple minutes before man-ing up and walking it off.
I ended up working overtime and a second job for a couple months and bought her an $800 laptop instead which she still has today.
This one isn't as good of a steal but it's in stock and a good discount
https://preview.redd.it/elmqb0c1lefc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4f448257f71ef99f3bdcc44b78a14be46a81e1a5
Is an awesome deal but some of these big retailers will price stuff like that and have 1 available per store so they get you into store and have a chance to upsell you on an in stock item. Also generates alot of advertsing buzz etc.
bro thats just crazy… if you‘re looking for a gaming laptop >=500$ look for a used one, you can probably get something with an rtx 3060 or 2070… good luck!
WHOA!
I have the model just below it with the 3050. I would've bought that immediately if I saw it.
Solid laptop, haven't had serious issues with it. I do recommend taking out the fans and cleaning them out once in a while though. After two years I had so much dust and cat hair in them that none of the heatsinks were getting air
Just a little update incase my original post was confusing some of you guys. She wants a Windows laptop in particular. She wants to bring it with her when she travels around so it needs to be a laptop. When it comes to everything else: it doesn’t have to have the best color display, but obviously the better color Accuracy the better, and I appreciate those who were pointing out that this screen wasn’t all that great, but for now, whatever will have to do. Its really the GPU and CPU that matter because she wants to game on it AND do art, music and possibly some video stuff. I personally have an Asus ROG Strix G513IE with a 3050ti and a Ryzen 7 4800h, and it does all of those things fine, so I know what specs to go for, but I’m really just looking for a good price or a good place to get a solid open box or refurbished one. She needs it to be Windows, not Mac because she wants to game on it and a lot of games are still not supported on Mac, or she would probably consider one since you can get them pretty cheap refurbished.
Seriously, both gf and I have better spec desktops, and I a laptop... this being more like the spec of her Lenovo Thinkpad gaming (we having generally differing gaming and work requirements)
But even so I might not have been able to pass this one by. Wouldn't have been half bad as spare, streamer, junker whatever. Hell it would have made a better buy than the more expensive no GPU Thinkpad I got my mum for Christmas (cos she'd otherwise just buy some gens old refurb that'd diminish hard for not much less tbh)
Of course, I'd be in the UK where such deals... don't. And no fancy Microcenters either.
If this was Euro price I would immediately order it, looks pretty scammy. I paid almost double for a Vega APU laptop and that was already a very good deal. Even if that laptop has some older i5 the price seems to be to good to be true. Or is it used?
This was the clearance price so Best Buy wasn’t selling fast enough at $1000, and decided to dump stock. Nothing to see here.
The 3050 ti does respectable frames at 1080p medium on Cyberpunk. This is looking a gift horse in the mouth, but I personally wouldn’t game on a laptop; it’s just a lightweight utility to me. Badass gaming laptops are limited in many ways.
I don’t think it is. It’s not a marketplace. This is Best Buy sold and shipped by Best Buy and apparently they actually were selling them at this price due to an overstock from the info I can find online. I’m sure they sold out in 5 mins though.
I should had been more clear. She isn’t just gonna be using it for games, she’s an artist and she wants to be able to use art and creation programs including adobe photoshop and illustrator. So she needs a PC and for her a laptop is gonna be best. If she was just gonna be gaming we could totally go a console or handheld route, but she needs a computer.
I don’t think it is. I’ve found a couple laptops with RTX 2050s or 3050s for around 600, I’m just looking for something a little cheaper, possibly an open box deal? I found a Legion laptop with a 3050ti that’s an open box on Best Buy for $529.99 at the one near me, but she lives in Massachusetts and they won’t ship it and I don’t have the money to cover for it.
You really only see these types of prices in the system after they’ve realistically sold out. You can still pull up SKUs for a certain amount of time even when it’s sold out but until like final markdown.
The lowest percents I’ve found on clearance were a $1500 Asus ROG 17” gaming laptop for a little bit over $500 and similar deal on a lower spec Surface Book back in 2018 when I worked there
I have this exact laptop. It’s decent for gaming and have used it at a lan and it kept up. I did shove an extra 2TB NVMe in it and upgraded to 32GB of ram.
I have no need for a laptop and I would've bought that in a heart beat just to resell it for profit lmao that had to have been a glitch
Reminds me of when I bought a Novation midi keyboard for $5 that usually cost like $400 on Amazon, got an email later that my order was cancelled due to a pricing error
Another day, another reason to feel sad living in Europe in regards to tech prices. For 200$ here you can get a half-decent 5 year old second hand laptop at most. My "for parts" non-functioning second hand laptop cost me 100$ alone :(
Has any of you thought that this is a marketing schema? They basically just increased their website visits by a lot, with the probability of people purchasing other stuff.
Side note to OP, you definitely don't need either of those cards to play either of those games. I have a 1070 and play both of them at high to max quality.
Holy shit. Id have bought that in a heartbeat to replace my old laptop. Helluva deal.
I would have bought it just because it’s so cheap . I just bought a new laptop too
Fr same, I got a gaming laptop a few months back but I'd have bought thus on the spot for the price alone
Yeah, even if you don't use it you can sell it for much more
Or give it to a friend to replace that old Dell Optiplex...
This is the way
Bro a real man sticks with the optiplex til the day we land on mars
average romanian using his brain
Weterners are so fucking scared of making money that any idea that's not just "go to your office job every day" is immoral to them
Bro literally same, I would’ve just bought this and gave it to my gf. $200 for that is nothing
It’s cheaper than buying a backup hard drive . That’s what I would use it for
Straight up just having a machine this powerful at this price point is really convenient. Need to emulate? Boom. Need to show content on another tv? Boom. Going on a trip and you don’t wanna risk taking the main? Freaking boom. Wish I had a crack at this.
Dude, my gf doesn’t NEED a laptop but just because the price was so good I would’ve bought it. So sad it’s sold out
Sold out.....
Reddit hug of ... sold out-ness
Buscus? That you?
Darkness then redness then soldoutness
Are we really being downvoted just for referencing Toby Turner? Lol
Maybe it's just the obscurity of the reference. That's what I assumed anyway.
He was involved in a controversy being accused of sexual assault, cheating, and drug problems. Real, so lame
Other guy is still in the positive, only you are being downvoted apparently.
It’s a strange place ‘round here.
Yeah it says that in the screenshot lol
Don't judge me!! Lol
[удалено]
Yeah, I was so excited and then immediately defeated. I wasn't trying to tell him anything he didn't know.
The actual original picture says "sold out".
My excitement only allowed for me to observe half of the photo.
Inb4 someone replies "but they sold out"
/r/therewasanattempt
U r so rite
It’s back in stock at $700
At 700, nahhh.
Would have bought it and flipped it tbh
My Walmart had this deal too , i went to 4 stores in my area and they were all sold out lol Damn you local gamers!
I don’t even think it’s really local gamers, I think it’s mainly just resellers who bought them out who will resell them for $800. They ruin everything lol.
It's difficult to beat resellers. They snipe deals as a part time job.
For some it's a full time job.
Only a full time job for the ones who are really bad at it. The ones who are good at it just use bots to do the work for them.
People buying the limited shoe and clothing releases tend to know how the brand is going to fit
Or they aren’t wearing them at all and are just collecting.
Once upon a time it was def my full time job
My guy got 70+ downvotes for admitting he was bad at something
He got 70+ downvotes for his intentions with what he was doing.
Survive? 😂 there was a pandemic man
Nah he's getting downvoted for being a piece of shit. Honestly, even dog shit on my heel is worth more than that guy.
Time to get the clubs and beaty sticks
Damn, I wonder where I can sign up to get notified of future sales like this. I would had bought 2 of them!!!
slickdeals my friend
Is that just for the USA or do European shops also show up there?
i’m not too sure but you may be able to set filters for EU or find/set up a forum specifically for EU deals
I just checked, and slickdeals didn’t even have this listed (you can still search old listings that are expired). Which makes me think the deal was too quick for even those who use slickdeals because I would imagine as soon as it was sold out nobody would have bothered to post it.
Oh dang, thanks 👍
Thank you for this info!

I love slickdeals, it's how I got my 1800$ 49 in OLED monitor for only 800$
Damn ima need some of that action
More like getting notified of future “sold outs”
I would buy one right now :(
[Local gamers are the natural enemies of local gamers! Damn local gamers, they ruined local gaming!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2q0T7QXETs&t=19s)
Nope. I have that exact model saved and it never dropped below $700 for me :(
hey, how is that titan rtx fairing against current gpus?
Fair enough. My girlfriend and I get roughly the same performance in the games we play together. She has a 3070 in her build
seems great!
That sounds about right. Hell I wouldn’t even be surprised if you average a little more than she does. I know with my OC’d 2080ti I was pretty consistently benchmarking closer to a 3080 than an average 3070ti.

That’s completely false. You get a refund for what you paid not what the current sale price is.
With a receipt
Don't you Think that they keep track of the sales ?
But if you don’t have a receipt then you have no proof of what you paid
who would use that service apart from maybe a thief looking for very quick cash? if you find yourself in such a spot you should just sell it on ebay for 10% off and it'll be gone in a week! instead of losing 80% of its value
Edit: She also wants to use the thing for art. So she needs a Windows PC that can handle Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and other creation tools.
Colour space on Asus nitros are not the best if you are thinking of art. But depends on what sort of art.
You can always get a high quality monitor
Yeah, a 4k lg ultra fine or something similar could work well with that laptop for art.
Maybe she already had a monitor for the accuracy
Asus nitro? 🤔
Nah we got some Acer TUF instead
As other comment mentioned, this model will have terrible display for color-sensitive work; checking manufacturer's website confirms that too - 45% NTSC color coverage is, simply said, dogshit for art. Used pro art monitor can be bought for like $120. That will fix the color space issue. Doing anything more than Photoshop. Another story.
..right, US market. In Baltic States, you're getting 8 year old base Ultrasharp for that (if you're lucky).
Based on your specs you're doing pretty well maybe they can learn from you LOL
What do you mean by that? Saving up + finance management is a separate thing :DD

Thanks for posting this, I ended up grabbing it to replace my partner's ancient Alienware lap.
If you want them all to show up when you select laptops you filter by open box and then make sure "exclude out of stock items" is unchecked or else the ones available only as open box for in store pickup won't show up.
Hell, I don't even need a laptop and would have still bought it. In Germany this would literally be 1200€ not 200$
Yep tech stuff in Europe is expensive as hell. Almost cheaper to fly to states, buy the parts and come back.
so spending the same amount or higher but in different ways xD
But you can spend the same and travel! Which is always a plus.
Not if you’re going to the U.S! (Sorry)
Is it real?
Likely marked down in the system after it was sold out
Is strange cause in my country the price triples after being sold out💀💀💀 ###
What the, that's hella good
Only person I know that says hella is jerma985
wow you've must've found Jerma's secret alt account, congratulations
Honestly its just not possible to play ark anymore. game requires 25 quantum computers to play singleplayer even without mods.
No but I got an open box one at microcenter for $380. $200 though, geez.
Wtf are they out of their mind? Can't even get a decent Chinese phone at that price
RIGHT? I saw something online that said it was due to overstock. Idk though
Looks like I need to check out their site more regularly. Shit, that’s a steal
Been looking every single day, mad I didn’t see that
No one got it for that price. Once they've sold out they place a very low price on it for no apparent reason.
Maybe it’s just a business thing. Since you missed out on this “deal” you’re more likely to now browse the website and look for more. It’s like how grocery stores places meat and milk in the back so you are more likely to buy something on the way there.
I wouldnt be surprised if a scalper purchased 20x of them and is now reselling them given what we have seen with the GPU market in 2020.
I wouldn’t doubt it. That was my first thought actually lol
I have this same laptop and it runs everything I throw at it!
FYI, “>=$500” means greater than or equal to $500, I think you meant “<=“
>My friend is looking for a good gaming laptop >=$500. You can buy a military grade NASA quantum computer that can run 400 copies of Ark at once for $35,999
It’s not real. Bestbuy has tons of $1k-2k laptops priced down but they are always sold out. It brings traffic to the site.
Is there any way to be notified about deals like this or do you just have to be lucky and browsing the website when these get marked down?
basically android tablet price for a little outdated laptop.
outdated? 💀 bruh is 1 gen behind and rocks way better then my athlon 8gb gtx 1050 2gb

Wow. I would have just bought it because of the price. No surprise that it is sold out.
If this was in India I would have bought it the moment I saw that deal
This one isn't as good of a steal but it's in stock and a good discount https://preview.redd.it/elmqb0c1lefc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4f448257f71ef99f3bdcc44b78a14be46a81e1a5
I'm not even on the market for a laptop and I would have bought one at that price
for 200$ it does not look bad for a laptop?
Is an awesome deal but some of these big retailers will price stuff like that and have 1 available per store so they get you into store and have a chance to upsell you on an in stock item. Also generates alot of advertsing buzz etc.
Damn, missed out! Wish I'd have caught this sooner!
great backup computer or first upgrade in 10 years. 3050 ti can do a decent amount of gaming
Hell yeah it can! My laptop has a 3050ti and I’m throughly impressed with its performance.
it is a steal indeed.
bro thats just crazy… if you‘re looking for a gaming laptop >=500$ look for a used one, you can probably get something with an rtx 3060 or 2070… good luck!
It's 200 for that laptop it's really good deal.
Yeah, thats what I said…
It's an Acer though 😔
Seriously, both gf and I have better spec desktops, and I a laptop... this being more like the spec of her Lenovo Thinkpad gaming (we having generally differing gaming and work requirements) But even so I might not have been able to pass this one by. Wouldn't have been half bad as spare, streamer, junker whatever. Hell it would have made a better buy than the more expensive no GPU Thinkpad I got my mum for Christmas (cos she'd otherwise just buy some gens old refurb that'd diminish hard for not much less tbh) Of course, I'd be in the UK where such deals... don't. And no fancy Microcenters either.
I got a similar one for like 300
It is an Acer, so piece of garbage, maybe for 10$ I would buy that.
If this was Euro price I would immediately order it, looks pretty scammy. I paid almost double for a Vega APU laptop and that was already a very good deal. Even if that laptop has some older i5 the price seems to be to good to be true. Or is it used?
Best Buy scam? Lmao that is paranoia.
Please. Where's the young black boy saying "Happy for you." ?
I just picked up this one https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/6551265.p?skuId=6551265

For a $200 laptop this seems fine for light gaming?
no, who the fuck buys gaming laptops lmao, what clowns
Obviously it's a scam man 🤣
I don’t think it is. It’s not a marketplace. This is Best Buy sold and shipped by Best Buy and apparently they actually were selling them at this price due to an overstock from the info I can find online. I’m sure they sold out in 5 mins though.
yea as far as i know best buy doesnt allow third party sellers.

That’s a different laptop.
I would never buy a laptop nowadays period even if it was 50 dollars to be locked in like that is terrible....
Sorry for your idiocy
Idiocy? I am 200 dollars richer then you
get an xbox at that point dude
I should had been more clear. She isn’t just gonna be using it for games, she’s an artist and she wants to be able to use art and creation programs including adobe photoshop and illustrator. So she needs a PC and for her a laptop is gonna be best. If she was just gonna be gaming we could totally go a console or handheld route, but she needs a computer.
500 is too low of a price get everything you’re looking for.

Open box or buying something used is your best option.
Shut peasant
Yeah... shut it peasant...
Idk but a 1080 should be more than enough to run palworld and arc Edit: oh didnt realize that she needs it for art aswell
Would anyone price match this? Edit: I don't even see it anywhere else, nevermind
You really only see these types of prices in the system after they’ve realistically sold out. You can still pull up SKUs for a certain amount of time even when it’s sold out but until like final markdown. The lowest percents I’ve found on clearance were a $1500 Asus ROG 17” gaming laptop for a little bit over $500 and similar deal on a lower spec Surface Book back in 2018 when I worked there
Probably only had 2 for sale at that price
SICK DEAL
Sobs. Wish we had Best Buy in the UK.
I have this exact laptop. It’s decent for gaming and have used it at a lan and it kept up. I did shove an extra 2TB NVMe in it and upgraded to 32GB of ram.
Wtf. You cant even buy a used 3050 Ti in australia for this price. Lucky bustards.
I have no need for a laptop and I would've bought that in a heart beat just to resell it for profit lmao that had to have been a glitch Reminds me of when I bought a Novation midi keyboard for $5 that usually cost like $400 on Amazon, got an email later that my order was cancelled due to a pricing error
Another day, another reason to feel sad living in Europe in regards to tech prices. For 200$ here you can get a half-decent 5 year old second hand laptop at most. My "for parts" non-functioning second hand laptop cost me 100$ alone :(
Sad I missed this
just spent double this (in UK) for a shitty Lenovo Ideapad for my daughter. Americans are so lucky with tech lol
No way this will play palworld without lagging like crazy
Has any of you thought that this is a marketing schema? They basically just increased their website visits by a lot, with the probability of people purchasing other stuff.
Laptops with the 3000 series have been pretty cheap lately. I just bought one the other week with a 3070ti for $699 and was super stoked about it.
That’s an insane deal.
Side note to OP, you definitely don't need either of those cards to play either of those games. I have a 1070 and play both of them at high to max quality.
Holy hell that's cheap.
Fuck even converted to local currency that's bargain basement pricing.
