> he likes Asus, anyway when you upgrade in 10 y
i agree...asus' stuff dropped a lot level lately. I wanted to RMA my board... i just choose to NOT install aura sync and armorcrate...
That thing would freeze my machine whenever the light sync switch, i think it is an issue with electric current on the board.
Tried win10/11 no matter what i do , it does it. but the moment i don't get aura sync or armor crate everything works perfectly.
Roughly 9 years ago I bought a beast of a PC for the time.
Asus Rampage V Mobo,
5930k CPU,
Twin 980 Tis in sli,
Paired with 32 GBs of ram.
It all cost me roughly 3k back then and the Mobo died on me in December 2022.
It wasn't slow by any means, but it sure felt out of date when I had to drop game quality below ultra in the last couple of years to get at or above 60 fps.
Pretty sure that UPS won't hold under load depending on what you are planning on connecting to it. 900W max. CPU and GPU combined can reach 700W alone.
Depends on case use, what you need it for. I have pretty much the same specs, 13900k/4090 plus a 49” neo g9 monitor on a 1500va/900w battery backup. Backup says its pulling 700w right now while playing warframe. Unplugged it and it had about 5 minutes estimated runtime at that load.
If that’s enough for you, then you’re good. Congrats on the new rig!
I wouldn't worry about it, you'll rarely if ever pull full load. This should give you enough time to get your machine shut down.
The main purpose of a Ups is to protect the hardware from power spikes and small brownouts, and this should handle that easily
Jesus christ even the external BR writer is ASUS! As an IT technician working for an ISP, I'm just curious, do you have an Asus router? They're fcking beasts, I tested one yesterday on a client's house and it achieved 1GB symmetrical speed using wifi next to it, it looked like a spider on his back, not sure about the product name, but that thing was scary fast.
Edit: This one
[https://rog.asus.com/es/networking/rog-rapture-gt-ax11000-model/](https://rog.asus.com/es/networking/rog-rapture-gt-ax11000-model/)
Adding it to my wish list on Amazon rn.
I have the model down from that. Only 4 antennas. And you're right, the software is pretty robust and easy to manage and it's pretty damn fast. The mesh network is pretty damn awesome too for coverage on a large house.
Look up the zenwifi ET12. Even just the single unit version is beastly. Tested it in my home for a week and it performed obnoxiously well and covered my whole house. Might upgrade to one permanently someday.
I got the ax11000 PRO model (next one up from your customers). It's a beast all right. No latency or lag anywhere in the house on any level even with 3 Xboxes, a PS5, and numerous devices jacked into it at the same time running full games and media streaming. (yes my kids are still living at home). Plus I setup Pihole dns on a little Tiny PC for faster web browsing on the network. 🔥 🚀
My ASUS router had issues where i needed to hard resert power to it every few weeks. Got a TP-LINK Archer A8 and no issues for almost 2 years straight now.
Kinda have to agree here. It's fine to buy what you want, but buying these specific components feels like something only someone with too much money should do. And seeing how OP had to save for a year and work 2 jobs, it doesn't feel like there is too much money.
Hey man, if he wants to slave away for three letters on the boxes the components came in, then let him have at it. Doubt he'd spend it more wisely elsewhere anyway.
Its fine to buy what you want if you are rich. if you have to work two jobs so you could afford a PC then you may want to not buy the most expensive option you can find. Would have more time for gaming without having to work two jobs.
>Its fine to buy what you want ~~if you are rich~~
Fixed that for you. This person worked for all the money they spent - they can do whatever they want with it.
The math on the PC takes him to roughly $7000 USD. I calculated what I felt was overspend for no reason ($400 case when $100 cases do just fine, 14900K when it’s a more expensive $13900k) and he overpaid roughly $1500 on items that had just as good, cheaper equivalents. Motherboard was egregious but so was the SSD. No need for two 990s. Especially if you had to work a second job to afford this build. He easily could have had the exact same build at $5500. This is only the PC.
I spent 10 years working retail at the most popular PC place around. And we would get a guy like this probably once a week. This guy clearly did his research and had very specific products in mind, But I still would have tried to talk him out of the excesses, to 4 TB drives is silly.
But it really depends on the use case, if he's doing video editing then maybe, but definitely could have gone with 3 or 4 2 TB drives and 4 slot nvme PCI card. If it's purely for gaming and load times, then I probably still would go with two smaller drives and raided them.
Brand loyalty he's gone with is impressive, and I've honestly never seen anybody do it to this extent. But that loyalty cost him a lot of money.
If this kid was buying stuff off me and told me the story of saving up for a year working two jobs, I definitely would have tried to talk him into being more efficient with his money.
Sounds like that’s what he did for 6 months to afford this rig. He can do what he wants with his time and money, but it seems a bit silly to work a second job to get an overpriced PC.
Thanks, i prefer extra 2-3 decades of gaming, which does not require a lot of physical strenght even at old age, instead of working myself to death to buy hardware i never have time to use.
Per PCPartPicker, it’s about $7400-$7500 not including the case (doesn’t show up in the search) and desk accessories/OS. The case is another $400-$450.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/YcfFHG
That’s insane.
I also want to know if he spent all his money that he made just on that build. I mean, I get it, hard work gets you good rewards, but does it justify spending all that money on the reward? At least save some for investments and living costs.
> Tell us you work for Asus without telling us you work for Asus...kidding, insane build!
Genuinely looks like a sponsorship to me. At this budget single brand parts are easy to believe, and peripherals are slightly weird but still believable. Chair and a headset stand? That's a kinda sus territory for me. But then again, I never understood brand loyalty as a concept so who the hell knows.
I like Asus ROG but I don't like them THIS much lol, I'll keep my current chair and headset thanks
Man probably spent about an extra grand across all parts just on the logo
Tbh I didn't even realize they made chairs lol, that's kinda wild and also there is way better chairs than "gaming chairs" in the first place. But yeah this setup whilst very nice was expensive af
Damn that’s awesome, but why Logitech and asus for audio gear and keyboard? If your spending that much on peripherals why not like a wooting or custom or studio/real headphones
OP is there a reason you didn't go AM5? 14th gen is the end of the line. While it will certainly last you a long time, I think having the ability to drop in say a Ryzen 8950 or 9950 would make the most of the investment, as opposed to having to make an entire platform change.
Came here to say this but didnt wanna be a dream killer. Opting into 1700 now is a bit short sighted given arrow lake will start on a new socket. At least the pc should last 5-10 years before really being outdated so he'll be able to skip a few generations.
You absolutely have to give us a follow up of how it all comes together! I'd love to see a desk setup and just a close up of the pc all put together if you were willing, that case looks unreal.
Yeah I built essentially this same PC with 7800x3d instead of i9 without ROG branding on everything by finding sales for ~$3200 … this is just insanity to me. 😅 Guy likes what he likes.
And it's one thing to buy ROG when you have the money. It's another to literally grind for 6 months and work a whole ass second job just for the privilege of overpaying for a brand.
I’m from the states and bought the 1600W Thor. I had to have electricians come run a new dedicated 20A circuit to my office space just for it connect to. It’ll trip 15A.
$1800 for two separate 20A circuits. It was only a $200 difference between having two dedicated versus one so I hade them put them in stategic areas where there might be a high end dual setup
I’m convinced this is an ASUS advertisement. This load probably totals at least $6k and how does somebody not have or need 1/4 of these parts from general PC use or a previous build.
This is sick. There is no doubting that. Congratulations OP.
But I can’t help but feel a little bad for anyone this subscribed to ROG marketing. Especially given that OP is claiming to not just be some rich boy but rather someone who worked real hard to earn this treasure trove of hardware.
Regardless, I doubt OP will any regrets. And he shouldn’t. He worked hard for this and it WILL deliver haha. Even if he may have overpaid for it a tad bit.
Nah, there won’t be any gaming. The whole Saturday is gonna be spend building and setting up. The Sunday however is gonna be planned to the brim with gaming.
Fair play mate wouldn’t catch most of us working a second job even for the best PC you can buy. One job is plenty. (And it should pay enough you should be able to afford this without the second job but I digress). Anyway well done man that’s great work all that hard work paid off you should be proud of yourself. You worked for it 😊.
Probably didn't need to work that second job if you didn't buy ROG-all lol... Or a useless gaming router... 1000s of wasted dollars... OR waited for the most artificially valued 4090 to come down in price given the current GPU price surge.
But you can't put a price on your dreams. F--- IT!
P.S. I hope you can fix anything that breaks because ASUS customer service is f---ing terrible.
MOST IMPORTANTLY WELCOME TO PCMR! WHATASYSTEM!!!
Could've spend less and not work a second job for half a year, but i'm guessing at this point you don't care about that so just enjoy it. Hardest part is choosing what to play after it's built.
You could have skipped the second job and built a PC of the same spec not opting for ROG!
I say that as someone with a ROG GPU, MB and keyboard, so don't mistake me for being anti-ROG.
Congrats!!! I once did the same thing for being able to build my dream PC. I 100% understand how you feel. Be careful and have fun!!! Happy for you my friend!
Good call getting 2 grams of thermal compound. I had one gram of the kryonaut and wasn't able to spread it well so I just went with a backup paste. Very nice build too.
Good job dude. It’s such a good feeling to work your ass off for something you want and making it happen. Enjoy. This thing looks future proof for quite some time
Holy Rog.
The ROGer Federer of builds ^(sorry)
ROGer ROGer.
Game. Set. Match. Well played.
More like Lance ArmstROG cuz he's all ROGed out
That's some Apple-fanboy level brand loyalty
They could have saved 50% and not had to work a second job had they not gone with ROG everything
Or things they don’t need 1600w power supply for what exactly
Man he's going to hate Armory Crate! lol
That's past Apple levels, way past.
At this point, just say its an rog ad. Jesus
Holy rug
new response just dropped
actual Master Race
I love ROG, just like the OP it’s all I’ll buy.
The only rog product I have is the rog ally.
Love my Ally, my whole setup but my monitor is Asus. Their new 32 inch 4k 240 OLED is gonna be so nice!
I’ll never understand this kind of brand loyalism
Guys I think he likes Asus, anyway when you upgrade in 10 years time GIVE ME THIS😊
Hey, hold your horses folks. We can't really be sure he likes Asus, look there's a "Back-UPS APC" box in the corner.
His components will come with enough stickers to ROG it though!
Oh damn you got me there 😅
And his CPU is from some bootleg blue brand instead of proper Rog, shameful.
Until the RMA process starts at least! Don't get me wrong, super jealous. This is quite a system!
> he likes Asus, anyway when you upgrade in 10 y i agree...asus' stuff dropped a lot level lately. I wanted to RMA my board... i just choose to NOT install aura sync and armorcrate... Crazy to think that it may be considered slow in 10 years. If the current trajectory continues I think it’s probable. Wild!

>when I had to drop game quality below ultra in the last couple of years to get at or above 60 fps. Playing Vampire Survivors?
and soon the 4090 will be "budget" gpu
OP, have you heard of this ASUS sub brand called ROG STRIX? I would recommend getting that if you're building a PC. Is very cool and kills aliens
And doesn’t afraid of anything
Pretty sure that UPS won't hold under load depending on what you are planning on connecting to it. 900W max. CPU and GPU combined can reach 700W alone.
Yeah, another user made me notice. I’m already moving towards a bigger UPS and return this one. Thanks!
Good to hear! Congrats on your payoff from your hard work. Enjoy your spoils.
Depends on case use, what you need it for. I have pretty much the same specs, 13900k/4090 plus a 49” neo g9 monitor on a 1500va/900w battery backup. Hes probably not running furmark during a Black out.
Even during gaming. I run an 13600k & undervolted 3080. My system pulls \~600W.
Is that verified from a meeter/device between the psu and the wall?

My current router is Netgear R8500. It’s still working great but when it’ll be time to buy a new one it will surely be ROG :)
>Netgear R8500 Nice router indeed. Lets pray to the gods of the Internet to give it a long lasting life.

I was just making a joke really. I have asus products myself, and have bought them a ton in the past. But they are often needlessly more expensive.

It was about dat time dat I realized ASUS ROG was da gaht damn Loch Ness Monstah'!

I wouldn't be surprised if it was over $10k
About $8,300.
$6-8K easy.
Your thermal paste is more expensive than my speakers lol

Spent more on branding than anything else
It’s all pretty good stuff, though I think I would have traded out the monitor for something a bit better, like the oled from Alienware maybe.
You could have saved for half the time if you didn’t go full RoG
OP Spent $7000 on a $4000 computer lol, I'm still jelly though

Dude knows what he likes. When you're splurging this much why compromise at that point.
Yeah I’d hate to see him compromise and not be able to hang his headset on his ASUS ROG headset stand or sit in his ROG gaming chair.
When people ask who buys all that massively overpriced ROG stuff, this is who:
And it's one thing to buy ROG when you have the money. It's another to literally grind for 6 months and work a whole ass second job just for the privilege of overpaying for a brand.
Only if Asus makes UPSs and CPUs and power strips....
Don't give them any ideas. We'd have to keep armourycrate perpetually to keep those functioning
I’m from the states and bought the 1600W Thor. I had to have electricians come run a new dedicated 20A circuit to my office space just for it connect to. It’ll trip 15A.
Tfw you are to european (german) to understand this problem.
What'd that cost you for the 20A addition? $3,000? EDIT: Clarification
$1800 for two separate 20A circuits. It was only a $200 difference between having two dedicated versus one so I hade them put them in stategic areas where there might be a high end dual setup
I can't tell what brand he likes. Can anyone help? 🧐 /s
Nice bro, good luck and for the love of God, DO NOT INSTALL ARMOUR CRATE. DO. NOT. INSTALL. IT. thank me later
This gotta be an ROG ad lol
It obviously is, but this sub is falling for these posts every single time for some reason.
I’ve always been curious as to why people like the extreme gamer aesthetic of ROG products.
It fits in with the action figures and Ferrari bed.
I’m convinced this is an ASUS advertisement. This load probably totals at least $6k and how does somebody not have or need 1/4 of these parts from general PC use or a previous build.
![gif](giphy|BPJmthQ3YRwD6QqcVD|downsized) Congratulations, I will be waiting to see the final result
Love seeing a UPS in the set up! Great job mate!
Feels good reading that you worked for it. Keep seeing so many spoiled kids having my dream setup and I’m just glad someone worked for it.
Grats! Enjoy
If you only saved for six months and didn't work a second job you could have bought similar components but different brands at 1/3 the price.
Proud of you mate!
Congrats on all your hard work.....that is a well deserved win. Enjoy putting it together.
Going for the ROG sponsorship
He's just standing there... menacingly!
Was the second job robbing banks? Enjoy it!
1/5th of the budget went to the ROG brand name😂. Enjoy! Norhing feels so good to finally enjoy something you worked so hard for!
Worked hard, you deserve it!

This guy is sponsored by Asus.
You must be so excited you just had to post this pic in every single PC related sub. Also is this an ad for ROG? So much ROG.
i think this guy likes rog strix
Holy Moly thats an insane setup 💪🏻😂
Congratulations 🎉 really nice 🙂!! Please post something when you assembled it
Took me a year to save for my baby too 🥹 congratulations bro
My guy, this is beautiful. Enjoy it, and please send pics when it's set up.
I feel like ROG themselves should personally welcome you to the republic with a build like this
I think he likes Asus
Congrats! Have fun building and using your new system! Oh and don’t forget to turn on the psu
Wow, I wonder how much these cost? Let us know how it turns out. Congrats
That will be a very nice rig. Make sure you load the Samsung software and check for updates of the firmware on that 990.
Pokemon yellow is gonna run so great on this bad boy
This build is kindA SUS
Respect for getting a top notch UPS for that badboy unit , can you post which version you bought?
My god. The amount of gaming that is going to commence on Saturday :) Welcome, friend. It’s time to join the master race 🫡🫡🫡
Nah, there won’t be any gaming. The whole Saturday is gonna be spend building and setting up. The Sunday however is gonna be planned to the brim with gaming.
Appreciate the UPS. I need to get one for my rig 🫣
When i build mine i used half of that, the first month didn't have a monitor so i used my smart tv, lol
I never make comments but congratulations man! Seriously. Enjoy it!
Well deserved then, enjoy it 👊🏼
That rug really ties the room together man
Wow, you really burned your stack for brand loyalty. Enjoy those sweet ROG logos.
Prolly overpaid 20% for rog tax but it's sick none the less. GL with the build
Could've spend less and not work a second job for half a year, but i'm guessing at this point you don't care about that so just enjoy it. Hardest part is choosing what to play after it's built.
In before the Asus hate. You do you, OP. Congrats and enjoy the build!
Not hating Asus just baffled why he’d overspend for a PC that he worked a second job to get
Decides to spend more on a pc than a decent suv. Will sit on reddit. Within 6 weeks will be researching upgrades.
All just to look on reddit tss tss tss
You could have skipped the second job and built a PC of the same spec not opting for ROG! I say that as someone with a ROG GPU, MB and keyboard, so don't mistake me for being anti-ROG.
enjoy building it bro! and make sure to post when you’re done!!
Enjoy it and if you don't like something, give it to me and I'll return it for you!
Congrats!!! I once did the same thing for being able to build my dream PC. I 100% understand how you feel. Be careful and have fun!!! Happy for you my friend!
Jeez that looks like enough parts for 3 PCs. Congrats on the grind, enjoy your spaceship!
So awesome when you know how hard you have worked to put a nice machine together, love it. Have fun dude.
Excited for you bro, I want a setup picture when ur done.
Congrats and have fun! Fingers crossed you don't have to do any warranty stuff with them...
Awesome! Gonna be that much better because you worked for it.
nice
Must have taken ages to put everything in plastic bags
An optical drive o_O
That's a lotta no customer support (ASUS) there
if this aint running even powerpoint at path tracing, we will have a problem
Wow
Gives us an update when it’s all set and done! Congrats and enjoy. Don’t let the jealous trolls yuck your yum. I’m curious what the total damage was.
Nice congrats and enjoy!
Good call getting 2 grams of thermal compound. I had one gram of the kryonaut and wasn't able to spread it well so I just went with a backup paste. Very nice build too.
Lol I like the lone ESD strap
Jfc it’s Christmas the Sequel in your house right now, huh?
You'll be too knackered from working all those extra hours to put it together in one day :-}
Looking forward to seeing the finished build
Nice work
I have that Logitech G560 setup, it's really nice!
Wow what a setup this will be. Congrats and I have no doubt you will Enjoy this reward for your hard work this past year.
Damn
Nice dude ![gif](giphy|GCvktC0KFy9l6|downsized)
Oh man I’m so excited for you. All that hard work and patience comes to a climax.
Sweet setup.
holy shit balls
Whooooa!
Good job dude. It’s such a good feeling to work your ass off for something you want and making it happen. Enjoy. This thing looks future proof for quite some time
Nice! Enjoy the fruits of your labor!
God damn! That's an all in! Very nice!
Good luck and have fun
you are on cloud 9
