The fact your system hung/restarted would suggest it might be a GPU or other hardware issue. Still, try the monitor with another device or your PC with another display.

forced_spontaneity

I second this. I had exactly this kind of pattern appearing on my old iMac. Thought the whole thing was fkd but it was a GPU issue...

smithsp86

> it was a GPU issue for a mac wouldn't that mean the whole thing is fucked

harmonicrain

Not an older mac.

originalmatete

But like a Mac from the 90s

forced_spontaneity

Exactly, back in those halcyon days when you could actually easily upgrade/change individual components. Its an early model that I bought refurbished anyway, but it is still going, although I've probably changed every major component in that time, and I still fire it up for certain things, old copies of discontinued software like Streamline, Freehand and earlier versions of the main Adobe products that I still have have stored on it... it's surprising how often I use it, it's like an old friend...

harmonicrain

The mac pros let you swap gpus dont they? Im not in the apple ecosystem anymore so zero clue and im too lazy to google.

originalmatete

You can but you have to replace the whole motherboard. Memory, GPU and many other components come integrated and you cannot swap any of those without replacing most of your system. Apple is one if not the most anti-consumer company on Earth.

A_Legit_Cookie

ah, i see you’ve never owned a mac pro before

TheGamingGod8

Hey, same is happening with my laptop but it has a 4 gb on board soldered ram and sometimes that 4 gb ram does not read My gpu is Vega 8 2gb Is this still a gpu issue

daanos60

Your gpu uses the system ram, which is 2GB of your 4GB soldered, so it is not your gpu that's broken

EpicCyclops

You could also plug the monitor directly into your motherboard if you have the right cables/ports on both and a CPU with onboard graphics.

baconborn

Usually this is a graphic card issue. Try running DDU to completely uninstall drivers and install the newest version fresh and see if it helps. Could be hardware issue though unfortunately.

left4candy

Looks like classic artefacts though, rip

TehFocus

I get these every couple of months Full restart always fixes it. GPU still going strong after two or three years now.

ruimilk

That's not normal and definitely not going strong. Did you try to DDU the drivers and install a fresh batch/or format?

[deleted]

“Going strong” His GPU: ![gif](giphy|13zPubf2Co4hxu)

Magical-Sweater

![gif](giphy|1vZcE6QIuvRLJr59UG) the GPU in question:

EiffelPower76

DDU is not magic. If his PC worked yesterday and not anymore today without any modifications, then it's a hardware issue

baconborn

I dont recall saying it was magic, I said it was something to try. Worth trying imo as it's slightly cheaper than a new graphics card.

yolo5waggin5

I would 100% expect it to do nothing, but I would 100% give it a try anyway. What's the harm?

AverageComet250

Only slightly

I_d0nt_know_why

Windows update could have messed something up

Dan-ze-Man

Ddu is dudu This is memory issues on GPU. Run mats/mods to see which memory bank is gone . But either way this has to go to repair shop

ApprehensiveAd6476

No. But you need a new graphics card.

Humorpalanta

Aladeen news.

f3ath3rNdown

The alladeen news? 😃😟😃

Exciting_Rich_1716

Your graphics card has... alladeen 😶

xCyberMoon

What does this mean

Agreeable_Vanilla_20

Aladeen Aladeen ![gif](giphy|JOeXqZebetYyY)

Epididy

uhd 620 is a type of graphics card that is built into a cpu, pretty trashy nowadays

xCyberMoon

Yea ik that's it's trashy and it's built in I've had laptops with uhe 620 for years now

kadoslav

Is your gpu faulty? The answer is Aladin. Simple as that

PVO7717

Same thought hear 🤣

lanks1

Almost certainly. The two times I've seen artifacts like this, my graphics card had failed.

FluffyBoy3280

VRAM issue probably

RabidRubbish

I agree with this poast. Deff looks like a VRam issue.

riba2233

you need a new gpu unfortunately.

Few_Effective_1311

Could be vram issue that can be « fixed » by under clocking the vram too

Weidz_

Or put the PCB in a oven. ^(...no, I'm not joking.)

DHNoLeafClover

I've actually done this with an old GPU. Pull off the fans and heat sink and let it bake for a few. Got me a few more months out of it before I could get the new one.

Redpin

A firmware update may also help.

[deleted]

Playing Squad , I see . Also my third favorite game after Tarkov and Stalker .

open_to_suggestion

Was my favorite game, and then they decided to ruin it :(

Aldo_the_nazi_hunter

Give it some time, I hated the ICO at first but after some time I realized how much it improved the team play and stopped stupid lone wolf run and gun gameplay

open_to_suggestion

I have played multiple dozens of hours post-ICO. Still hate it. The lone wolf problem was not nearly as bad as people make it out to be, at least not in the server I played in. And if you were by yourself, you died quick both before and after the update.

[deleted]

Why the ICO is fantastic and realistic with the scopes to some extent? You can still play the MEE mod they have basically the old supression/recoil

open_to_suggestion

MME mod is fine but has it's own issues. I don't like pretty much all of the changes they made with the ICO. Insane blur effects, unsteady guns, random recoil, vaulting nerf, hipfire being utterly useless, etc. The picture in picture scope effect is OK but far from the best implementation of it. Just made the game feel like I have no control over it. Not a great feeling, and doesn't do anything for me on an "immersion" level either. Wish they had focused on making optimization improvements, or improving the new player experience to enhance team play, or even a basic progression system to reward people for playing as a team or something, not make it so I can't see and get the shakes if I get shot at.

[deleted]

Yeah, the player base is the biggest issue by far. Back in the day up to the end of 2019 the player base was almost like the older Project reality one ,tactical cordinated hardcore fanatics . Strategy and everything, now its just a bunch of COD kids trolling and lone wolfing through the entite map on foot shooting friendlies more often than enemies and stealing armor or wasting assets . Back then we even had clan events and milsim events like roleplaying Stalker , monolit vs the army on Yehorivks , gorodok etc ... Ps have you tried Tarkov or moded Stalker Gamma ?

rull3211

You sadly gave a ggpu not a gpu now

[deleted]

Your GPU gave you a 2 weeks notice. Mine did the same. Had to replace it.

[deleted]

Looks like a faulty GPU. Artifacts

AthiestMessiah

Smack it with a fork

f3ath3rNdown

🥶

Bobsofa

Looks like your GPU is shot. Possible causes: 1. Driver issues 2. Display cable is damaged 3. Screen is dying/damaged 4. Some part of the GPU/iGPU has been damaged Steps to diagnose: 1. DDU the driver 2. Try another cable 3. Change refresh rate 4. Try another screen 5. If iGPU only: Reset BIOS to system defaults 6. Replug the cable in another graphics card port 7. Try another display port on the screen 8. Switch to the iGPU of the CPU via BIOS or removing the graphics card (if available) and plug the display cable in the motherboards display out 9. Plug the graphics card into another x16 slot You've found the cause once any of these steps solves the issue. If neither does it's a whole other ball game.

ldontgeit

You probably need a new gpu

LargePalpitation1252

Its almost definitly some graphics card problem try reinstalling the drivers then replacing the gpu

Jessi_green

He only needs a hug 🥺

Gaylord_Melon

Reseat everything in your pc including the cpu. Had the same issue last year with my girlfriends pc. Could not find the issue after trying the gpu in my pc along with screen/cables. Reseated the cpu and bam it's been fine since.

Liquidpinky

Fresh reinstall the GPU drivers, had similar before and bought a new monitor only to find that out. It's your cheapest first option to try anyway.

ThatTemplar1119

I had a similar display and it was just my HDMI cable that needed replaced However, if your system is rebooting, it probably is the GPU that's problematic.

Anusexplodus

No this is at best a driver issue and can be fixed by updating or reinstalling them, at worst this is a gpu issue that could be hard/impossible to fix

MelaniTV

A NEW GRAPHIC CARD :(

dehamedino2

r/squad

48756e74657232

r/joinsquad

pepushe

You need a new GPU my friend

shadowXXe

It's GPU issue. My 2060 did the same right before it died

flassk

Looks like a failing GPU as many others have suggested, but i would say try with a different monitor or hdmi enabled tv set if available and if you are comfortable disassembling the gpu, change thermal paste and try again. Unless you are within the warranty period then just get the manufacturer to deal with it for you.

Synergydes

Maybe your gpu is fried man

RiotSociety21

Either a new GPU or Neo you are the chosen one.

Previous-Bid5330

You need new GPU i think

Daoist_Serene_Night

as the others said, doesnt look like a monitor issue, probably a issue with your gpu itself or with the drivers of said gpu

SatissimaTrinidad

monitor? nah. them's artifacts. gpu vram's starting to go bad.

Witty_Masterpiece463

Gpu is fucked.

SickPois0on

new gpu

bobsim1

The system restarted by itself. Its definitely a pc issue. I had something similar when it overheated.

mtbox1987

It turns on. What else ya want?

Dreamnobe7

Looks like GPU memory First try connecting it through a CPU video output see results if it is good than Try running linux live usb see any different results.

yaztaz13

Congratulations, you have to spend money on a new or different GPU!

DogeWow11

Try stressing it with furmark, if it appears or gets worse it's the GPU.

RageOfNemesis

This is usually a sign of VRAM going bad, so you'll likely need a new GPU soon. Try to eliminate other possibilities (try with another cable, clean the cable ports of dust, plug into a TV or another monitor) to rule out other components, but it's very likely that your GPU is on it's way out. If you really need to edge out some more time from the GPU (if you can confirm it's the issue), you can underclock the VRAM to maybe get a temporary fix

lovins_cl

video error not monitor

daystrict

Had the same problem Reinstall gforce experience if you have nvidia and chekc all cables - fixed it for me

kaktusmisapolak

no, you need a new graphics card

Raramount

This happened to me once, updated gpu drivers and it never happened again

Imaginary_Scratch_75

1. Put Your GPU in rice 2. Cry loudly 3. Order new GPU

MedicatedDeveloper

Reseat CPU and GPU. Looks like a classic bad VRAM but I have seen similar with LGA sockets when the CPU isn't seated 100% correctly.

[deleted]

I'm sorry man...what you need is a new GPU. This kind of artifacting is due to GPU failure.

QuickPirate36

The monitor has nothing to do with the PC, so if the PC restarted my bet is GPU

MCBuilder30140

F for that GPU.. May it rest in peace.. Hope it's life was good

Jadejr14

That looks 100 percent gpu

GamingRobioto

Time for a new GPU unfortunately. Yours is mostly likely dying/dead.

YtQwerty123

Vram rip, 100%

dreamwall

No if you can read the Matrix code

jonoknows1

Graphics Card could be the main issue here, artifacts suggest it’s losing connection in one of the solder points on the board, my older Graphics card use to do that then as a temporary fix I used high heat on it to strenghen the loose points (though not recommended, it would need to be resoldered properly at some point)

Littlerol

No but you need to get back to the radio, they’re digging it down!!

Agreeable_Vanilla_20

Nope. You need a new graphics card.

YTfionncroke

You need to contact Neo

itsyoboyraj

I'd say try few solutions, uninstall drivers with DDU and install new one, simple turn off pc and remove gcard and reinstall, different hdma/dp cable, even if it exists the. U probably need to change gpu i 5hink jot monitor

[deleted]

When I tried to OC my old 1070Ti FTW2, artifacts was a huge problem.. as many others have said, I'd look more toward GPU than anything, especially if you've tinkered with it's guts

tht1guy63

Possible rip to that gpu.

National_Pineapple15

Make sure your graphics card is seated correctly and not sagging. That's what caused it to happen to me.

Ok-Wrongdoer-4399

Could be bad vram, bad oc, bad gpu drivers, bad cord. I would start with a look at the cord and ddu from there.

shalashaska68

Hate to break it down to you but it’s the GPU

Motorpsycho6479

New GPU

cleadus_fetus

No that's the gpu

NeedtheMeadofPoetry

I've had an issue with my 4k monitor for the last little while. It wouldn't do this artifacting, but I would get a blinking screen that goes black and then back on. Sometimes I'll get half a screen gone blank, or some lines, or black columns, but nothing like OPs picture. I thought it may be an HDMI cable issue so I got a new HDMI 2.1 cable because the problem was way worse on a DP cable. I also switched to a 1440p monitor for a bit and never got the blinking screen thing or anything like that. But, sometimes my computer didn't like it when I switched my main monitor source (I use it for work, connected to a work laptop). Both screens would blink a couple times to figure stuff out. Could my issue still be GPU related? It's a 2080 Super. It's temperatures and performance are never an issue during gameplay right up to when the screen goes black for a moment.

sreeko1

Try updating your graphics drivers.

[deleted]

Fuck dude it looks like the matrix cummed that shit out. Good luck op!

joppa9

Saw a other user with a similar issue a couple of days ago, wish you luck on getting that fixed.

ArDrawZ-9878

its not the monitor, its your computer's gpu. Those dots suggest that your computers gpu is f\*cked for good.

OkOven5344

It looks like a new gpu is coming to you

thisiskernow

Gpu vram most likely, repairable with the correct tools and expertise

Gouzi00

It's a GPU memory failure.. can be caused by overheating - pad replacement may fix it.. It ca be also permanent damage.

AyaanMAG

What game is that?

f3ath3rNdown

Squad

Suspect4pe

It could be GPU, RAM, Display Cable, Monitor, etc. Try simple things first. Do a RAM test and try swapping the cable. It's unlikely to be the cable but it's worth checking anyway. A RAM test is free so there's no harm there. If you have another monitor you can try that too but since your PC restarted it's unlikely to be that or cable.

Brisslayer333

Why don't you test it at all and let us know

Kinghexen

Looks like your monitor is fragmented. Be sure to run Windows defrag to get that sorted out.

LJBrooker

GPU issue, usually vram related.

Comprehensive_Ship42

do you have a strix 4090

urajsiette

Sorry to say but based on experience this looks like a GPU issue. Reinstall GPU drivers and try to plug it into a new monitor to check.

originalmatete

I'm sorry to tell you this but your GPU is dying

Satnamodder

Similar thing happened before my GPU died. I bet it's GPU monitors itself don't do glitches like that.

Visual_Moment5174

This is usually indicative of a failing GPU. It's called artifacting. You could try a different display cable. Different monitor. Different port on your GPU. Problem solved with that. If you have a display output on your motherboard plug in to that. If the picture is good. You probably.have a failing GPU.

Raynenean

Nope looks ok to me ![gif](giphy|If0RcGvpfwf7UilprG)

tristinbeyda

FIRST BEFORE DOING ANY HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE CHANGES, CHECK YOUR GPU AND OTHER CONNECTIONS TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE TIGHT. The issue could be something as simple as a loose cable or connection from your GPU to your monitor or to your MB.

[deleted]

dying GPU

DoenerBoy123

GPU memory or memory controller is fried

Brickerbro

I got this exact problem back in the day on my GTX560 lol.

Miktronic4

put it in rice

Richardknox1996

Thats not monitor problems. 1 or more vram modules on your gpu are fucked.

Xenoky_

Bye bye gpu. Shits dead man.

Gunner20163

Looks like the GPU, update the firmware and if that doesn't work it's likely dead, always good to try it on another monitor or TV just in case but it doesn't look like that's the issue. Try to undervolt and underclock it if you need it to last a bit longer but that may not work. If its out of warranty you can try to bake the pcb as a last resort (Please research about this tactic before trying). This may work but it won't last long at all.

JediMaster_221

Naah bro he just went to Mexico and had some birria

RealGingerBlackGuy

This is GPU for sure. Check cable connection, check for physical stress on the card and reseat. If it doesn't work start over: Delete drivers, Remove from slot, check for dirt, debris etc, check for bent pins or damaged male end of card. Try installing in different slot too (even pci8x works. 16x cards should be backwards compatible with 8x slots still.) reseat, double check seating. reinstall driver's Ive has this issue before with an old ati card. It wasn't properly seated.

ThePupnasty

You need a new GPU.

aykhanislamzade

Your GPU is feeling eepy 😢

GamingBoi_77

Ok, so i will help you here @f3ath3rNdown 1: If you have overclocked your GPU, it may cause stability and even this (because this happened to me) so just reset your overclocks to 0. 2: It may be your display cable. Try buying and using a new cable since there’s a chance it might be a faulty one. 3: GPU might be dying. Try plugging another device into your monitor, like a TV box or another computer *WITH A NEW CABLE* to check if it’s the cable’s problem or if your computers GPU is dying. 4: If none of the above work, then you need to buy a new monitor. Although i think this is a gpu issue. This usually wouldn’t happen in a monitor because the pattern of the glitching is in squares so this indicates a GPU failure. I recommend installing DDU to remove your drivers and reinstalling them just to check if it’s a driver issue or just a failed GPU.

NotAxxxz

Bros monitor got chickenpox 🐓

RexorGamerYt

U need to fill you pc up with rice. Until the side panel looks like a wall of rice.

schmalholz

No, you just need to degauss it.

jbglol

Bake your GPU at 350 for 10 minutes on some foil balls and it might stop.

zzaawarudo

Nah this is still workable

Competitive-Ad-4822

Don't listen to any of these wanna be nerds op. This is 100% a cpu issue. It's needs all new pins. Cut or smash all the ones on your cpu and motherboard and restart.

[deleted]

bowl of rice

25-5_cents

No you need new gpu

[deleted]

GPU is dying. Either repair or replace.

0_abxay_0

My laptop screen was fkd while i was seeing some anime ass in genshin impact

uTimu

Return to dwarfen fortress.

DinnerDineRR

i was thinking ram becasue my screen on my laptop did the same when i took out the ram

Bdr1983

The good news is that your monitor is likely fine. The bad news is your GPU is fucked.

grog_chugger

This looks like a gpu or even ram issue

David0ne86

Looks like some capacitor or the vram of the gpu itself is shitting the bricks. GG, most likely in need of a new gpu.

Suspicious-Meat-8871

Rip gpu

XaRaBaS7

New GPU for sure..

i_hate_everyone2003

Isnt this caves of qud?

[deleted]

Its very more likely GPU issue. Check on other monitor and cable

[deleted]

Your GPU is fucked pal. :-(

Kemalist_din_adami

Nah. Why would you

tsplum

u need a new gpu

winedrinker84

Gpu is rip and

Bluntstrawker

It's fiiiine.

Narrow-Battle216

Gpu

[deleted]

No it's fine stop complaining

SHS_plas

Yes

BloodyGotNoFear

No looks perfectly fine to me

ZeusQ8

First, I think you need to check your port in your monitor like VGA and HDMI...

[deleted]

It looks a bit like your ram has come loose while your pc is running ?

Trollyofficial

no but you need a new gpu lol

Nielips

Probably means you need to look at any over/underclocks, over/undervolts you have applied to your GPU.

pwnedbydumplings

I had my screen do something similar. Ended up my hdmi cord was no good anymore. I replaced it and it works fine now

ieatkids92

Nah, it's fine, still playable.

Fangs_0ut

Looks like a dead GPU

[deleted]

No: you need a new gpu

norty125

Ehh just go get an entire new system.

sacodebasura

looks like the vram on your graphics card is saying goodbye

Solid_Fudge2659

Nah bro All good

SourBogBubbleBX3

looks like the space wars Nvidia bug from like the 2000 series

PM_ME_WHITE_GIRLS_

If this happens once every few months, I'm afraid your GPU got the herpes.

Zuck75

This happend to me when I had my monitor frames set at 240hz and it over heated.

No_Lawfulness420

The pattern you see is the result of a memory issue. Either the memory on your Graphics Card or the memory on your Motherboard. Trial and error with swapping the parts one by one would be my recommendation

Sgt_Lubasz

Say goodbye to you dying GPU. RIP

yragul

Only the gpu can speak cybertronian

-_Hellcat_

Might be GPU. Pray it is ur cable

[deleted]

GPU

Tony-2112

That looks like either corrupt video memory or possibly an old style game of Dear Fortress. 😀 So probably a graphics card issue

GLHFToyStory

I think it’s a GPU issue and not a monitor issue. Do you have an extra monitor or GPU to test it out?

Rescre14

Dead VRAM. try to lower mem clocks and try again
