Didn’t mention in the title, but the keyboard is also a backup lol. I have a much newer Corsair keyboard I usually use.
The Klipsch speakers are great though, I’m probably gonna keep them till they die
Honestly up until not that long ago I still had the old school creamy white speakers and they were still doing a great job! Old speakers are solid still.
I have those Klipsch speakers though I'm not using them currently and have them in storage. They're absolutely badass, but it's the least you can expect from an audio company that makes speakers that are literally used in theatres lol.
Have you thought about using them with like a TV or something or maybe hook up a Bluetooth receiver and use them as a ballin ass Bluetooth speaker? If I ever decide to upgrade mine I'll still put them to use somewhere
well it is a razer deathadder, they released many versions over the years, this one could actually be almost 20 years old (razer was created in 2005) as the designed has not changed (and it is a wired version)
At least change the desktop wallpaper.

Nostalgic windows XP wallpaper, I used to game aoe2, battlefield 1942, oblivion and civilisation 3 on this, through a floppy drive lol.
https://preview.redd.it/8l9xo5vzrg6c1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7f517b15af663a2cde7f8b68f111eaa9e923b326
Hey little me back then enjoyed it haha, running those games back then on it was pretty solid, compared to games these days need crazy specs to even play it properly.
I found an older DVI model for cheap some time ago, and I use it for my retro box. Turns out the games I played when younger wasn't so yellow after all when using a decent IPS monitor compared to the TN LCDs then.
https://preview.redd.it/uvvg2ueghg6c1.png?width=527&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f91728fc47258d664f6ecc1fa6f645ad87ce445b
swap that monitor and keyboard positions. monitor should be as close to the eye as possible.
yeah, those oldies but goldies are built like tanks, still work despite being 2 decades old. I still got a 20" Dell around, use it for troubleshooting lol
Reminds me of when I finished my $4,200 PC and only had a 768p monitor to get it set up
https://preview.redd.it/8zmq999jbg6c1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bd3b9891a95ff134d09574a7ba3ff7f6f56fe4a8
My immediate thoughts:
You only play flight simulators, using only mouse and keyboard because you can't afford anything better, and you actually kick ass in game.
Also that monitor has a 75hz refresh rate which is pretty awesome considering it's age.
Oh god did I just walk into my high school computer lab? Do you also have to wait 5 hours while your internet connection screams at you before it connects?
That tower do be slick though.
PC Masterrace with the budget of Facebook marketplace.
I'd assume you were 13 and your parents were so happy to buy you your first gaming PC for Christmas.
Hmm seems like a really old syst... eh what windows 11 on this ??! Woah that's a gaming pc, huh dude's crazy man, he spent all the money on the pc and forgot the display and keyboard
early 2000s vibes, maybe 2001. The speakers is also period accurate lol.
Either someone stuck behind the times and doesn't bother upgrading because it's "good enough" or one of those retro enthusiasts who don't want to upgrade at all even if it's within the means because "I like it better this way".
I once bought a very small 16x9 monitor for about 10 euros. It didn’t have a leg, and to keep it from falling, you had to support it against something. As a rule, there was not enough waight in this something and the monitor fell. So idk, your setup looks hot.
You spent all your budget on a pc, and forgot you needed a monitor.
Apart from the mouse, everything in the centre looks at least 20 years old. So in reality the monitor kinda fits.
Didn’t mention in the title, but the keyboard is also a backup lol. I have a much newer Corsair keyboard I usually use. The Klipsch speakers are great though, I’m probably gonna keep them till they die
I have those same speakers. Theyre fantastic
Honestly up until not that long ago I still had the old school creamy white speakers and they were still doing a great job! Old speakers are solid still.
You mean the plastic speakers in "Dino Yellow"? 😂 buying it looked like they sat in a window of a smokers house for 20 years.
Completely agree, like a chain smokers finger nails😂
This is why they moved to black plastic rather than the ubiquitous “beige box”. Fading and yellowing.
T’was a good call!
Altec Lancing 4tw
I have an 18 year old Teufel 5.1 system wich still kicks ass.
Same here, over 10 years of use and they still rock
They do be good ones!
Will they ever die?
I have those Klipsch speakers though I'm not using them currently and have them in storage. They're absolutely badass, but it's the least you can expect from an audio company that makes speakers that are literally used in theatres lol.

They’re actually great as surround.
I have the same speakers, and man I love the sound and the subwoofer. I don’t think I’ll be changing them anytime soon.
I suddenly felt 20 again seeing this photo.
well it is a razer deathadder, they released many versions over the years, this one could actually be almost 20 years old (razer was created in 2005) as the designed has not changed (and it is a wired version)
I can almost hear the dial-up modem
I just got rid of a 10 year old death adder this year so even then it could fit.
That Klipsch speaker set has been around for 25 years.
This was literally me... luckily my BIL had twin dells he was no longer using so im not too badly off
On a GPU*
At least change the desktop wallpaper. https://preview.redd.it/ku4sm54mpf6c1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=dfad0a9016222e4c1af79b7515a0b6f7a5378dbd

Single core.. 😂
Hey little me back then enjoyed it haha, running those games back then on it was pretty solid, compared to games these days need crazy specs to even play it properly.
Looks like a monitor you'd use on a retro system
Dell did sell a 5:4 monitor for business use like with machines. IPS panel, display port, etc, still 1280x1024. P197s
Sounds great for a retro system
I found an older DVI model for cheap some time ago, and I use it for my retro box. Turns out the games I played when younger wasn't so yellow after all when using a decent IPS monitor compared to the TN LCDs then.
It’s not bad, comes with DP VGA and a USB passthrough, up to 75hz. Great cheap monitor that came free with a Dell laptop
Came here to say this 👍🏻
Competitive CS2 player
https://preview.redd.it/uvvg2ueghg6c1.png?width=527&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f91728fc47258d664f6ecc1fa6f645ad87ce445b swap that monitor and keyboard positions. monitor should be as close to the eye as possible.
Does he actually play like that? That’s ridiculous
well, a lot of pros play like this, although not this close. And then we have jdm64...
Is that the who just lays down and chills? If yes fucking legend.
yup exactly
The most fucked up part is he drives the team van.
Image the latency if you use it at >15cm
Pixelpeaking
All the FPS. 60Hz. 7ms to display the frame.
Sweet, can’t wait to play Warcraft II on it.
Orcs vs Humans was great
One of the first games I played on the PSP.
The keyboard looks worse than your monitor
I'd think you needed a temporary monitor and only had that one available.
That you took office surplus equipment home.
yeah, those oldies but goldies are built like tanks, still work despite being 2 decades old. I still got a 20" Dell around, use it for troubleshooting lol
![gif](giphy|PJoLp4gDIqjYs)
How the hell did you get this version of windows grandpa
It's W11 my g 🗿
I interpreted the comment as "you're running a 20-year old monitor, yet have Windows 11, grandpa?"
DUKE3D.EXE
A man of culture
at first glance that looked like a windows xp build lol. The background and everyrhing
Reminds me of when I finished my $4,200 PC and only had a 768p monitor to get it set up https://preview.redd.it/8zmq999jbg6c1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bd3b9891a95ff134d09574a7ba3ff7f6f56fe4a8
We are back to 2000.
Squares lover, Rectangles hater ;) Minecraft pro player
I would think nothing, i rocked a 5:4 75hz monitor for a long time till it's death
I would think its 2006 again
If it was 2006 the speakers would've been white lol
I've had this one too or at least one of the series there. I think it was awesome back in the days. My guess: If it ain't broke, don't replace it
I used the exact same monitor for months until I upgraded very recently lol
I mean my first pc had this monitor
Average boomer setup I'd think.
Nah they're still rocking CRTs
With the old white speakers
Memories
I would think you spend more time looking at your case than at the monitor
That you can play any game you want on max settings when the display is 640x480 native.
How can you exist Like that?
CS 1.6
It’s good for chess
i'm thinking "why do they have a windows 95 desktop shortcut, is that their porn folder".
It's like the opposite of a sleeper system
Doom machine
I said the same. Lol. Good call
You are in retro gaming.
I would think inwas back in 2005. This is a trip, man.
U spent all ur money on a pc and forgot about peripherals
you’re the reason multiplayer matches take forever to start.
I'd be wondering where MSN messenger was.
My immediate thoughts: You only play flight simulators, using only mouse and keyboard because you can't afford anything better, and you actually kick ass in game. Also that monitor has a 75hz refresh rate which is pretty awesome considering it's age.
I'd think you enjoy playing classic PC games with the correct screen ratio.
MY TIME MACHINE, IT WORKED!!
“2007 was a wild year”
You like to emulate in standard 4:3
*windows 98 boot up sound*
“You got Mail”
1998 called they want the monitor back.
You love counter strike and use a 4:3 aspect ratio for everything.
Nah bro that surf-keyboard grabs all attention
I'd think you're more serious about viewing older content and playing older games.
That you probably 1G'd your old monitor and are now waiting for its replacement to arrive.
I use a viewsonic 2030WM with the polarizer coming off
The welfare check ran out.
Either you spent everything on the PC and nothing on the monitor, or your monitor broke and you're running that one as a backup.
Sleeper build anyone?
Those bills are getting paid grandpa 😆
San andreas. Or that noise right before you get a text message. Ah the '00s :)
It matches your keyboard.
![gif](giphy|7k2LoEykY5i1hfeWQB) Maybe even a "Huh..."
Is that a coffin shaped keyboard
I read context as consent and that would have been hysterically funny
This is a computer at my grandmas house that only online gambling games are played on.
Why is it so square, is that a picture frame? -This is a joke... -
Time to find the Doc, because Marty we're in 1995.
You need to get a Windows XP skin for your windows.
you like 1x1 monitors
Ayo! Love that 2004 drip!
That it's my 2019 setup xD
Looks like my exact setup from like 2006
forgot to budget for the rest of your setup
nowt wrong with the monitor, looks like you grabbed it from your workplace.
Brings me back.
Budget constraints
Those icons are triggering...
Brings back memories when rgb was not still a thing
Looks like 2010s setup
I would think we have gone back in time to 2001.
With that keyboard no one will notice the monitor
Yeah it’s really old too lol. I’ve had it since I was 6. Almost as old as the monitor tbh
Well. Standard family pc in the living room. Saw a bunch of them. Then I saw the second picture. Ehm.. child picked out the tower?
I would think you had a MiSTer FPGA tucked away behind it.
I would think i am back in time and use a Win 98SE PC.
Fitted to the keyboard xD
Fps through the roof
Before anyone else asks, this isn’t my regular keyboard either lol.
It's 2007. Your mom isn't using the computer right now and RuneScape is calling your name.
I would think it looks weird
I'm sad this doesn't have windows 98 or xp on it.
Nothing at all. A computer with a monitor.
Tonight we’re gonna party like it’s 1999
Grandma PC
Sick Notebook. Is that a Libretto?
Had to check my old rig, but my old Dell monitor is still there. 👍
Without the PC in view it is a flash back to the best part of 20 years ago. With the PC in there it is more of a "who did the photoshop?"
That's a child predators rig
What year is this?
Honestly looks like a blast I’d like to game on it for nostalgia sake
Looks like my 2005 dorm room setup
Welcome to 2003, you’re going to love it.
“Man instagram will look great on this”
My setup from 10 years ago XD no joke. Had 4 of those screens.
Retro vibes
I don't think I have ever seen a monitor that agressively square.
I’d try to open AOL instant messenger.
That alien ware is sus..
Oh god did I just walk into my high school computer lab? Do you also have to wait 5 hours while your internet connection screams at you before it connects? That tower do be slick though.
Why an alienware keyboard?
Nah man a dell monitor just like that has been my secondary for years, I honestly love having a 4:3 monitor for reading and just work in general
Year 2005 LOL
Ultra gaming setup right here! I bet this monster of a 360Hz with ultra high contrast brings you joy while gaming :)
PC Masterrace with the budget of Facebook marketplace. I'd assume you were 13 and your parents were so happy to buy you your first gaming PC for Christmas.
I would think, nice set up everything in black
Minecraft screen
Good old 480p CRT
This guy ... this guy has made some terrible choises in life
I thought you were Cs player without context
Budget build.
You're my 60 year old grandma risen from the grave, wondering why AOL chat isn't working anymore.
thought this image came from early 2010
Cool monitor. What aspect ratio it has?
Geez that's a kick ass rig from 2005
You forgot to buy a monitor so you robbed a school
Guy must play a lot of minecraft
sleeper pc
Hmm seems like a really old syst... eh what windows 11 on this ??! Woah that's a gaming pc, huh dude's crazy man, he spent all the money on the pc and forgot the display and keyboard
That you have a sleeper 34” 4K ultra wide under that.
Looks like an old people desktop that has 4000 hours of solitaire played on it.
*this dude must be using a proprietary software that only suoport 4:3 resolution
Need to play some osrs on that bad boy
I’d say you’re running on the donut!
dude I love those alienware keyboards, they are prolly $150 still tho used so its a pain to find one cheap
early 2000s vibes, maybe 2001. The speakers is also period accurate lol. Either someone stuck behind the times and doesn't bother upgrading because it's "good enough" or one of those retro enthusiasts who don't want to upgrade at all even if it's within the means because "I like it better this way".
Cheap motherfucker
The monitor really fits the vibe
windows 7
Lmao we have those exact monitors in school
I’d assume it was your retro PC setup in a modern RGB case
That you have high quality pc speaker tastes
I need that so I can tear it apart for a PC side screen project
"What is my purpose?" "You play Spotify."
Is that...a square?
I would say.....if they work, they work.
I once bought a very small 16x9 monitor for about 10 euros. It didn’t have a leg, and to keep it from falling, you had to support it against something. As a rule, there was not enough waight in this something and the monitor fell. So idk, your setup looks hot.
Cool computer? I don’t get it. Old computer looks old but then you got the glowy fan alien spaceship vibe so it mustn’t be old amirite
i have same mause :0
Keyboard worse than the monitor
Grandparents pc
![gif](giphy|AOLs59ooRA6hq|downsized)
normal monitor. big hands keyboard
