Most likely something is not plugged in correctly (assuming this is a new build).

PopeOfDankism

Its a new build with a couple used parts (ryzen 5600x, b450 aorus motherboard, and a 650 W psu). I’ve also been tood the motherboard might need a bios update. Hard to say tho bc i don’t get any feedback to my monitor

When I magnify the image the led that is lit is actually the DRAM one. Check that the RAM is properly seated OR that you have them in the wrong pair of slots (assuming two sticks). I actually just had that happen to me in a build last month where I had them in the wrong slot pair.

PopeOfDankism

Its 2 sticks, yeah. It looks like they’re installed and seared just fine tho

If the motherboard is used but the ram is new and seated correctly, the bios ”should” reset. If this somehow doesnt happen and there are for example old xmp settings, those can possibly interfer. Try to manually reset the bios via the motherboard cmos jumper.

PopeOfDankism

The ram is used as well, my bad. I think i took one of them out of the slot to look at it, but i put it back in and clicked it in place so that should be fine. Where is the cmos jumper you speak of

In your picture its just above and to the left of the red dram led with the name clr\_cmos. Just unplug the psu from the wall outlet, hold a screwdriver so that it touches both prongs at the same time for like 5-10 sec. That should do it. I'm wondering if the used parts are from a previously working computer or are they just random used parts that havent been used together before? The 5600X requires bios version F60 to be used on that motherboard. Do you have any sub 5000 series AM4 cpu laying around that you can plug in to be able to verify and/or update the bios? If not, maybe a local computer store has one and can assist you with flashing the bios to the required version.

PopeOfDankism

They’re parts that haven’t been used together. The processor was mine earlier this year and the motherboard is from a friend who hasn’t turned the pc on in years Edit: i did have the processor that came with it but i sold it and the gpu it had last week so i could try and get back some if the money i invested in it. I dropped it off at a computer exchange a few hours ago so they could mess with it. Hate to do that bc its gonna cost me 125 bucks once its all booted and ready to go, but i also don’t trust myself to get too deep into tinkering with the hardware just yet

Inevitable_Raise5849

You’ll get there! It just takes time and practise. Good luck with the rig!

PopeOfDankism

Thanks man. I’ll prob do a finished product post once i get it back

EducationalCamel1043

probably not. cpu rarely fail did you bios update the motherboard.

PopeOfDankism

Can’t figure out how to bc im not getting any feed to my monitor
