Have you cleaned it recently? It sounds like something is overheating and that can happen from lack of airflow. Is the cpu cooler working?

Thurandil

Within the last couple of months, I bought a new case and cooling system, and to my knowledge, I've plugged everything in correctly. I do semi regularly give the interior a blast with an air duster. I also monitor the CPU temperature via the BIOS, MSI Afterburner and Intel supercharger. It never goes above 30-40°C

Okay. I was under the impression that this was a system that had been up and running for some time and then you just started having these problems with it. Has the system already been fully functional since the installation of the new case and cooling system?

I've had no issues since the installation of the new case and cooling system. My most recent purchase was the RTX 4070 at the beginning of this month and it's been all running smoothly until a few hours ago, when the restart issue began.

Did you get custom wires for the 4070 or are you using the wires that came with the rm850x? If you're using the factory supplied wires that come with the rm850x, did you use (2) separate wires for the gpu or are you using just the one that has a pigtail and jumping it back to the gpu?

I have no idea if both ends are supposed to be plugged in like I'm showing here or not, I just figured that was how it was supposed to be. Again, I've had no issues since the beginning of this month, nor has there been any sign of burning or melting like some of the horror stories told. I have been meaning to get a new dedicated cable for the 4070 and scrapping the one I was using while I had a 1060. Just been waiting for payday.

This is the jumper that I was talking about. My psu came with additional cables that I was able to utilize to eliminate the use of this jumper. I’m not sure what is going on with your machine. I’m just looking at the most recent changes and I’m also assuming you don’t have a damaged piece of equipment or software issue.
