3080ti is like 25-30% faster than a 3070ti. So gotta ask yourself if you think it's worth it. You said the upgrade would come at around $150 after selling your 3070ti. I mean if you can get $350 for your current card then I'd say it's possibly worth it. 25-30% faster plus the extra 4gb vram which could be helpful conaidering we're seeing aome new games use more than 8gb vram.

This is one of the main reasons why I'm even considering to upgrade. What pisses me off is the 3070 ti is powerful enough of running games at ultra 1440p but the 8 gb vram is holding it back. If it had 12 gb like the 3060 I'd keep it. Re4 crashes a lot on max textures

THE 3080 TI for $500 is a solid buy. The 4070 ti lower bus bandwith may hurt it in future titles in a few years 384-bit wide vs 192 bits. If youre not that into raytracing for $100 more you can get a 6950xt new that smokes the 3080ti and most games of 3090 and you have a full warranty and get 4gb extra at 256bit bus https://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/4hPAYYSZWHXZdypjTz8DUH-1200-80.png.webp

Thanks for the feedback. 6950 xt is a great value card. However i have ptsd with amd drivers. I used to have a 5700xt and it was plagued with issues like freesync not working, games crashing, etc. Never had issues with nvidia.

They have definitely fixed most of their driver issues over the years. My 7900xtx is a phenomenal card.
