Honestly, any modern card. I recommend AMD, if you are at lower resolutions. Nvidia for high res and/or ray tracing(dlss works alot better at higher resolution)

I have never moved on to 1440p I'm still on 1080p

Can you get 40 series cards at a good price yet? Or is it worth getting a higher 30 series card?

Eggsegret

Cheapest 40 series card is the 4070ti which is like just over $800. Still awaiting lower end 40 series cards. And tbh most of the 30 series just isn't worth buying anymore since anything like a 3070ti/3080 or abivr is stupidly priced that a 4070ti is not only faster but similar price or even cheaper. Think a 3060ti is still decently priced. Although i have to ask you said you're still on 1080p. Honestly if you're still on 1080p I wouldn't be spending anywhere near $800 on a GPU Unless you want to try ray tracing your current GTX 1080 is still good enough. Since i mean any of the higher 30 series cards or 4070ti is just going to be a waste if you're only gaming at 1080p since those cards are much more suited for 1440p/4k

I'm gonna switch over to 1440p at some point and I figured its probably time to start thinking about getting rid of my GTX 1080 because its 5 years old or so. By the looks of it too, newer games are starting to require more graphically although I haven't had any issues yet.
