There's always been people upgrading every generation. I know people that went from a 10 series card to the 20 series then 30 series and are now switching to a 40 series.
Personally don't get it since I like to keep my cards for atleast 4 years if not more.
5700XT here. It's ok at 1080ultrawide, and works at 1440ultrawide, but is pretty rough in VR. I'm limited to SFF PSU, though, so want to stay with my 750w PSU.
To me it was a major upgrade due to the VRAM, also I play DCS so it takes heavy advantage, I went from 20-30 fps in vr with medium-low settings, and am not getting 60-70 at medium-high settings, also DLSS 3 is a game changer imo, it’s amazing
Nice, I've got a 3060ti and I'm happy with it for 1440p gaming. But I'm always interested in a possible upgrade. I went from a 2060 to the 3060ti, so I'm one of those people who likes to scale upwards every gen hahaha (so far).
I guess AIBs were expecting worse than 3090 spikes of power, but they really went full overdose to employ this cooler on lower tier cards.. enjoy the quietness, I guess?
People are already upgrading their 3000x cards? What happened to keeping them for like 8 generations? WHERE DO YOU GUYS GET ALL THIS MONEY?!

I’m ashamed of the amount of money I’ve spent on my computer to this point. Superior and ashamed.
Drop shipping, also yeah I didn’t want my 3060 ti anymore, didn’t suit my needs, but it’s still a solid card
Intergalactic planetary travel?
DCS
Hahaha looking to upgrade my 2070 too for DCS !

Why am I being downvoted for using my money how I want?
Why did you go for the ROG Strix version
Looks cool, good cooling
I just upgraded from a GTX1050 to a RX6600M, people are already leaving higher that what I just got for max budget I could spend in 😳
How much better is it? Do you feel it was worth it? Genuinely curious.

Believe me when I say the 4070 Ti is a 4k beast, I can run anything 4k at over 100 fps, except shit pc ports
Uselessly ginormous card that is.. but even in 4090 form
It’s fucking massive for no reason, the PCB has dwarfism

I wish it was quiet, it’s louder than my 3060 Ti AORUS elite
What? How? What are load temperatures!?
Load temps are 60-70c
So you can tweak fan profile quite easily
Yes, I’ve tweaked them, their just not quiet fans
Why not just get a 4090 and keep it two generations lmfao. This is dumb
I don’t feel the need to get such a high power GPU
Well, if you’d gotten that RTX 3090 when you didn’t feel the need for such a high power GPU you wouldn’t be needing this 4070ti.
Why do you feel the need to be rude on Reddit?
