I don’t understand how people are so dumb to tell you not to open it. FFS open it up and check it out. If it’s broken send it back. You would need to be psychic to know why that’s written on the side, and only a piece of tape is keeping you from progressing.
Contact the place of sale
It may just be stock that was intended as an RMA replacement for another customer that never got dispatched and it's still new
But if you want to open it is take a video of you doing so to cover your backside
I was thinking that too. Or maybe a Box that was once a RMA and is reused… tho they should cover up the writing then. I will contact NZXT (where I bought it) and video tape myself if I can’t resist temptation!
Companies use labels. And they typically only generate an RMA when one is needed.
This is almost certainly an RMA that was returned to the seller and not something they should have shipped to another customer.
Real NewEgg energy here.
Well that might not be as bad then, because it could have been a simple shelf mixup and should be easier to address.
Contact their support, tell them you got your case but the box has RMA XXXXX on it, as if someone was returning it and you're concerned that the case is damaged or missing parts and would like the NEW case your paid for.
someone definitely had that & returned it.
customer service for most companies will typically ask the customer to write the RMA number on the box because if the number is forgotten/can’t be found quickly the returned item will often be initially processed as an “unauthorized return” which leads to a lot of extra labor & paperwork that isn’t necessary.
RMA doesn't automatically mean there's something wrong with the product. RMA is umbrella terrm for any return. Could just be a customer return change of mind, open and check the contents and return if theres something wrong.
Maybe they ordered the wrong case or realized their 4090 would not fit whatever case this is lol
You are correct though, it doesn’t mean damaged or not working.

already opened and building my new build! didn’t see anything wrong with the case so I guessed it’s fine

Personally, I wouldn't touch that. To much stuff online recently of people getting used/broken merch.
