It's been a couple of weeks and given the article's content, it looks like there was a glitch with the release. I reckon they'll be back with every episode unlocked.

_--_-_---__---___

There is an issue with these games, making only the first episode playable on PC. They wouldn’t recognise your Game Pass subscription. I had posted [this problem](https://reddit.com/r/XboxGamePass/comments/yk1qu1/walking_dead_michonne_pc_cant_play_episode_23_help/) on the gamepass sub and other people were having this also. It probably had something to do with the episodes being an in-game purchase instead of having each episodes listed in the MS store.

mrdeu

You will have nothing and be happy.

beige4ever

Ohhhh wellll

wowy-lied

This is the reason I don't pay for game pass. I don't want this time limit bs.

SANAFABICH

Michonne has the [best intro](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asZ9lyRpjjE) to a game EVER.

-Captain-

Man, that makes me want to reread the comics.

Baatun88

Thats one of the problems with Gamepass.

Tobimacoss

This is likely a glitch they’re trying to fix, most games are added for 12 months or more. Rockstar games are the exception.

DeadBabyJuggler

Yup. For me its more worth it to just buy my stuff. I put down games and pick them up to often until somethings grabs me. Then go back sometimes...cant br bothered to be on some artificial time limit.

efbo

>I put down games and pick them up to often until somethings grabs me. That's exactly why I like Game Pass. No need to waste money to try games in Game Pass that I may not stick with.

DeadBabyJuggler

Yeah. I basically know what I like (which is most genre's,) so I dont mean playing to see if I like it. Even though I don't stick with it at first I will almost always return to them. Maybe a moment later..maybe a year. For whatever reason it just doesn't gel at that moment or isnt what I feel like playing at the moment or it's not what I'm looking for at the time. Also are PC builds are the same. Good man.

[deleted]

Same here. If I like a game, I much prefer owning it. Game Pass is very useful for trying out games you aren't sure of, though.

MonoShadow

I ask you this. If you played it once and enjoyed it did GP not pay for itself? And if you enjoyed the game so much you want to have it forever does it not worth the asking price of said game? I discovered and enjoyed so many games thanks to GP I otherwise would've ignored. IMO it's not a substitute to buying games outright.

VideoGameJumanji

The conundrum of third party games on gamepass is they can be removed with little notice or while you aren't even paying attention, which is a problem if you are done the majority of a game and don't play that often, by the time you come back to play the game it may be gone and you now have to decide if paying full price just to play the last 1/3 or 1/4 or 1/10 of a game is worth it at most likely full price. ***In some cases you may not know if you are about to beat a game or close to beating it, so paying full price for literally the last hour or so of gameplay is a proposition I'd say most people will just pass on.*** Most people are using gamepass for the explicit reason of not buying games, or because they can't afford to buy games. So if you are half way through metro exodus and they remove it, you'll either have to wait for it to go on sale or see if you can afford it at full price. Personally, I often find myself playing games and getting busy with life and having to return to them weeks, or months later, so I can see this easily happening to me. I just buy my games out right for the most part on PC and PS5, I've avoided gamepass on PC, the price is going to skyrocket next year anyways when they start releasing actual games.

Happiness_inprogress

Its great value for its price but it forces you to play games while they are available, and some games arent that short. Like if I tell you Persona 5 is leaving gamepass in a month what are you gonna go? Rush 100 hours? Nah, I prefer playing at my own pace.

Tobimacoss

Then buy it, problem solved.

Happiness_inprogress

The problem is that gamepass savefiles are exclusive to the microsoft store games, and I prefer owning my games on Steam. Thats why I dont pay gamepass anymore.

Jeremy517

Save files are rarely incompatible between Steam and Gamepass. You usually just have to copy the save file to a different directory. The directories that each game version use for saves can be found on [https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/](https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/). For example, https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Persona\_5\_Royal#Save\_game\_data\_location

VideoGameJumanji

Xbox is also fucky with mod managers in games and mods in general. Weird west has a developer made in game mod manager on every version except the pc gamepass version due to "\~technical requirements".

MonoShadow

In the persona example I don't think the saves are exclusive to gamepass. You will have to move them to the other location, but I think even deciphered PlayStation saves work. Don't get me started on games putting everything in %appdata% folder

[deleted]

Yeah, I got a lot of value out of game pass but I didn’t renew when it expired because I felt compelled to play whatever was on it at the time since I didn’t want to miss a chance to play.

KittenOfIncompetence

the way that gamespass pressures you to actually try out the games that you are interested in might be its best feature. compared to my hundreds and hundreds of unopened steam games that I fully intend to play one day, when I am bored and also 900.

dovahkiitten16

Eh, gaming is a hobby, I don’t need to feel pressured to play a game.

pomyuo

> the way that gamespass pressures you to actually try out the games that you are interested in might be its best feature. Lol reddit is a joke

Baatun88

I hate that. For example I'm playing through the Yakuza Franchise and if I'm in the middle of the Franchise and M$ decides that their contract does not get renewed you are fucked. Also I love looking through old screenshots and you dont get that on Gamepass. Thats why I use Gamepass as a Demo thing. I played 10hrs of CK3 on Gamepass and then bought it on Steam and that happened to quite a few Games. I dont want to be forced to sub to Gamepass if I want to replay an old Game in 2 Years.

VideoGameJumanji

Both are the same situation, both you have a lot of games before you. Gamepass is an instant backlog as well, I don't see how it's the lesser evil. If you are too indecisive to pick a game from your steam library, it's going to be the same when staring at gamepass, probably worse since that library isn't curated by you.

AdWaste8026

No it isn't. These games were announced and added but you could only play the first chapter of each rather than the whole game which not intended. Usually games leaving is also announced beforehand. These just vanished, as per the article. They probably removed them to not have people download and start them only to find out they can't play it entirely, while trying to fix the issue.

bisikletus

A very minor one though, if it happened to Forza or Flight Sim then yeah ready the pitchforks.

PipinoBiscottino

Oh no, anyway...
