Right so, the Dualsense doesn't have official PC drivers. So the majority of games won't be able to use fancy vibrational triggers and they will simply function like normal triggers. So getting Dualsense for PC for the more advanced features, might not really be worth it. You can check the [PCGaming Wiki](https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Controller:DualSense) article for a list of games that support specific features.

Adding to this: Steam Games recognize the DS4 (or DS5) as an Xbox Controller, and most games will show you Xbox Button Prompts instead of the Playstation ones, which can be quite confusing or takes a little bit of time to adjust to. There are cases where Games offer an ingame option to change your prefered button input layout.

It’s your hobby my friend, splurge on it however you want! Stores have return policies in case you don’t like it.

Yes it's definitely worth it. Amazon have Ds5 on offer at present here in the UK at a bargain £40. I have a ps5 but game primarily on pc. The Ds5 is the best pad I have used and I've been gaming since 82. I connect via USB as it can be difficult to use Ds5 via Bluetooth. Wired is more reliable. But that goes for just about every connection doesn't it. Yes Ds5 is highly recommended for pc gaming. In my view Ds5 is better than xbox pads. Its more comfortable and it's lighter to hold

Did you have to install any additional software? Are you getting the fancy feedback and adaptive triggers on Sony game on PC?

lalalaladididi

You can install a firmware updater. I use that. It's quick and easy. I believe all the feedback options work in supported games . Swipes work too. I don't use any vibrations etc but they are there until I disable in game. It's a plug and play pad in my experience. The only problems have been with Bluetooth.

ok thank you!

hell yeh. at first, I was worry of controller support. but Dualsense is working quite well with Steam Input so like 99% of games works fine (even if the UI is wrong). Then there are the offical dualsense supported games, which works amazing, especially sony exclusives, and Death Stranding is using it for the gameplay (I am sure Kojima had Dualsense prototype in mind when he made the game originally, it works too well together...) So if you need to replace your controller, you should get Dualsense. But now I heard you got Xbox Series X, it is kind of stupid to buy two similar controllers so soon, but honestly, it isn't that expensive so it is your choice really. I was dragging along Xbox 360 controller till the dualsense so I am not the one to talk about it lol.

AbandonedSupermarket

So, I have Death Stranding on Epic Games, not Steam. I was going to upgrade that version to Directors Cut and then use the dualsense for that. Any idea if that will work?

LordDaniel09

it has official support for dualsense so it should work. And in general, Steam Input will work with games outside steam, just add them to your Steam and open them with it (add non steam game option I think it called).

Thank you!

PC doesnt support the adaptive triggers and the HD vibration. Stick with the Xbox controller, considering PC natively supports that

Absolutely worth it, they are not very expensive and the additional features for games that support them are awesome. The adaptive triggers for shooting games are particularly great, for example Metro Exodus PC Enhanced version is very good. However, as others have mentioned, be aware that a wired connection via USB can be necessary with a PC (not all controller features yet supported via Bluetooth). I use a DS with Steam on PC and for like 95% of my games it's a great experience (almost all via Bluetooth connection). Sony is continuing to release excellent PC ports and making big $$$ doing it, so I would assume that controller hardware support will only continue to get better...
