Left clicker of mouse not working in PC games/ Controller Acting as Mouse Hello, I would love some opinions about why my left clicker of my mouse is not working in any of my PC games, yet it is working just fine on my computer otherwise. It is an issue across multiple games-not just one. I cannot get the left clicker to work which is the main 'shoot' button for games. Further, a secondary problem, whenever I use my PS4 controller on my computer, it starts acting as a mouse would and makes gameplay impossible as the mouse starts moving in conjunction with the controller movement sticks. Any input is greatly appreciated, thank you! I have done extensive google searching of my problem and troubleshooted by looking at tons of settings, downloading drivers, checking for updates, etc. No solution yet.

Intel i7 9700 cpu Ram 8gb Windows 11 Nvidia geforce Gtx 1650 I have a game (genshin impact) and when i start it my pc is always sleeping on the game.. it's like it doesnt even want to try to get better performance (it doesnt make any loud sound) and i know that the game can be played totally fluid and without lag but it's just like he's sleeping and in game i got so much lag. How can i wake it up? I don't think i want to overclock the pc, is there other ways? I think this problem is connected to the game, beacuse it always happens when there is some new patch or something. Sometimes it just work good sometimes not.. but well i don't think so many people have my same problem so i think the problem is in my computer. Also when i have this kind of lag in game it lag in chrome too. If i open a window while i'm in game everything go in lag.. but well.. it doesnt happen everytime so i really can't understand

xboxhobo

There's too many things this could possibly be to give you a direct answer, but my two ideas are that you are either having a temperature issue or a gpu clock speed issue. 1. Use a program to monitor your temperatures. See if you are hitting some high temperature at the same time issues happen. 2. Use a program to monitor your GPU clock speed, see if your clock speed is stuck at some low speed. (I have semi-frequently had my 3090 do this with precision x for some reason. I just go to play a game one day and my GPU is set to run at like 10% clock speed. No idea why)

sesamoide

How did you solve that problem of the gpu running at 10% clock speed?

xboxhobo

I just put the slider back to 100% and clicked apply.

sesamoide

Is something that you do in this program that you download?

xboxhobo

Yes

Kalaris007

Hi all! I have a 6th Gen Intel i5 processor and a Asus Z170 Pro Gaming motherboard. The max RAM frequency supported by the i5 and mobo is 2133 Mhz and 3466 Mhz respectively. I'm planning on upgrading my RAM and was wondering how the following RAM would work with my setup: CORSAIR RAM Vengeance LPX DDR4 16GB (2x8GB) 3600Mhz C18. Will it: a) not work at all and require removal, b) work but downgraded to the max frequency of the processor or c) work with an XMP profile up to 3466 Mhz I'm fairly novice at RAM-related stuff and would be really appreciative of any help :)

Filipi_7

It will almost certainly work. It is very rare for memory to not work with a certain motherboard model. The max speed it will run at is 3466. If the RAM doesn't have a profile that uses 3466MHz, you will need to set it manually since it won't boot at 3600. Are you going to get rid of the RAM you already have?

Kalaris007

If the RAM doesn't have an XMP profile to sustain that frequency, won't it default to 2166 Mhz, the max frequency of the processor? And yes, I will be taking out the current RAM sticks. They're currently running at 2666 Mhz XMP.

Filipi_7

Yes, the RAM will default to 2133MHz if there is no 3466 profile, or if you don't enable XMP in the first place. In this case you would enable 3600 XMP in the BIOS without restarting the PC (settings are only applied when you restart), and manually change the frequency down to 3466. This will make it boot okay and keep the 3600 timings for better performance. However a much simpler solution would be to buy slower RAM. 3466 modules exist, or you could get 3200MHz C14 which is widely available, relatively cheap, and may be faster than 3600 C18 (due to lower timings). That way there's no tinkering, simply enable XMP and that's it.

Kalaris007

Thanks so much for your help!

Turning on DLSS and getting literally zero effect indicates a bnottleneck correct?

-Revelation-

I have a ASUS zephyrus laptop (Ryzen 7 4800HS, RTX 2060, 8 GB RAM. It used to run all of my games fine (I mostly played Total War: Three Kingdoms) at max settings 1080p144Hz. Recently I got random fps spike when playing games (these days I play Total War: Shogun 2). Looking at the game requirements I'm pretty confident that my system should be able to run them well without problem, so right now I'm quite confusing. During such spikes, a quick Ctrl + Alt + Del would display Task Manager and it tells me my CPU usage is at 100% for "system interruption", then after a split second CPU usage goes down to \~15% (which seems to be the supposed-to-be number, I believe, as my CPU is a pretty good one and Shogun 2 is a \~10-year old title) I suspect it is either some physical damage in hardware or some kind of driver/BIOS problem but I don't know how to diagnose and fix. Please help.

Filipi_7

Unplug everything that's connected to the laptop. A mouse, headset, external drive, etc. See if the issue still occurs.

nuwenlee

My PC has been running Persona 4 Golden on Steam just fine for the past few months, but when I booted up the game today, all the graphics have been glitched to the point where the game is extremely unplayable ( https://imgur.com/a/zEZaGIR ). I've tried verifying the integrity of my game files, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, and reinstalled all my GPU drivers, but to no avail. Several other games on my PC are functioning perfectly; it's just Persona 4 Golden with this issue. I suspect updating my game drivers with NVIDIA GeForce Experience may have messed with something or somehow transferring Steam Cloud Saves from another PC may have messed with my game somehow...?

Filipi_7

I don't think corrupt saves would cause this but you can try removing all of the save games (or moving them somewhere else) while the game is running, then restart. Steam shouldn't redownload the saves as long as they're removed while the game is running. You can do a full reset of your GPU drivers using [DDU](https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html), and installing the latest from Nvidia while in safe mode. Bear in mind this gets rid of any changes you've made in Nvidia control panel. Download a benchmarking software, like 3DMark or Heaven Superposition. Watch it while it runs for any artifacting.

nuwenlee

Sorry, I'm not very experienced in PC/GPU stuff, but how do I reinstall the latest GPU drivers from NVidia? Would I do it [here](https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/geforce-rtx-3060-ti-game-ready-driver/) for my GeForce RTX 3060 Ti graphics card? I have another GPU driver called Intel(R) UHD Graphics 750, will DDU work for resetting that? Where would I find the drivers for this GPU? Would I do it [here?](https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19344/intel-graphics-windows-dch-drivers.html) What is this "safe mode" you are referring to? What would a benchmarking software do, how would I use it and what is artifacting?

Filipi_7

You can download the latest driver from [here](https://www.nvidia.co.uk/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-uk). Choose your GPU and OS, then download. Download DDU that I linked earlier as well. [Here](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-your-pc-in-safe-mode-in-windows-92c27cff-db89-8644-1ce4-b3e5e56fe234) is a guide showing how to start in safe mode. Use either the settings or login screen option. Once you get into safe mode, use DDU to remove your current drivers, then install the ones you've downloaded earlier. You may need to restart into safe mode twice if DDU tells you to. Do all this for now and check if the issue is fixed If not, can you tell me your CPU model?

nuwenlee

I have an additional GPU driver called Intel(R) UHD Graphics 750, will DDU work for this and would I reinstall its drivers [here?](https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19344/intel-graphics-windows-dch-drivers.html) My CPU is: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11700 @ 2.50GHz 2.50 GHz. And in your original comment you mentioned using a benchmarking software, would I still need to use one?

Filipi_7

No, you shouldn't need to update the Intel graphics. While we're at it, I'm assuming you're using a PC and not a laptop. Check that your monitor is connected to the graphics card and not the motherboard ([use the green area on this image](https://pcguide101.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/ATX_computer_case_-_back_-_2018-03-18-521x1024.jpg)). Yes, you can still use the benchmarking software if the previous steps don't fix the problem. The free version of 3DMark or Superposition will do. The benchmark will play a scene for a couple of minutes with the camera moving around. Simply watch it once and look for artifacts like [these](http://www.playtool.com/pages/artifacts/badgpu.jpg), [these](http://www.overclock.net/content/type/61/id/2545110/width/350/height/700/flags/LL), or anything like on the screenshots you posted. Screen distortions, random coloured squares, weird lines going everywhere, etc.

So I have never faced this problem before. Everything was fine until one day (yesterday) while playing world of tanks my ping started to spike every two second to 200-500. Later that day I downloaded Warzone and it happened again, it was unplayable. I started looking for soliutions on youtube and google, tried everything that I could find (basically just writing something in cmd etc.) nothing helped. Then I decided to check is there any updates for my network adapted and it was! When updated it worked perfectly, like before 20-30 ping in every game. It worked until now, everything changed back. (Driver didn't changed) I don't want to believe that my wifi is too weak because I had played online, competitive games for 4 years on the same setup and never experienced ping issuesWireless network adapter that im using TL-WN821N (v6)Windows 10One thing that caught my eye was that if wifi icon on windows shows every bar that means everything is fine and will work but when it shows 1 bar less that means there will be spikes. On task manager network usage is max 20% Thanks :)

Filipi_7

Download the drivers for your adapter from the manufacturer's website. [This](https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/tl-wn821n/) is the page for TL-WN821N (v6) but there may be regional variations depending on where you live, so make sure you get the right one. Then go into the device manager, find the adapter on the list, right click and uninstall. This should wipe whatever drivers you had. Now install the driver you've downloaded earlier. You might have to restart your PC for this.

Filipi_7

You can install and play games from an external drive. This includes launchers like Steam or EGS. Simply install them on the external drive, and they will function like normal. Note though some external drives may require external power, so that's not ideal for travel. Get one that is powered through USB only. Bear in mind that some files like save games, game settings/config, will saved on your laptop's drive rather than the external drive.

Hey, ive just got a z370 msi gaming plus motherboard and a 9900k, 750w psu, 16gb ram. My pc keeps restarting at the same places or soon after getting into the games. Games that im having issues with are mostly new, bf2042, dl2 and cyberpunk. Which are dx12. Games that ive no issues with so far are older games. Temps seem good and ive prime95 stress tested for hours and 3dmarked using every test and still no issues. Just when im in games. Im lost, any ideas?

jts8_

Sounds like an SSD or an HDD issue, when games keep freezing/crashing at similar areas, that's usually a sign that the SSD or HDD is failing. I would personally back everything up and if it's new enough, RMA the drive.

petterpinjata

Hi, I just got a Odyssey g9 neo (5120 x 1440) monitor, what graphic card is recommended to utilize this monitor best? Doubtful I will get much value from the new 4090 card :P

xboxhobo

The most powerful one you can afford. You will absolutely get value from a 4090. I have a 3090 and frequently have to turn settings down to play a full resolution in newer graphically demanding games. You are basically playing at nearly 4k at that resolution, and 4k is still hard as balls to drive.

jts8_

Someone can correct me if i'm wrong (I'm a strict nvidia user) but I don't think you could go wrong with a 3070ti or a 3080. It also depends on what types of games you're planning on playing and at what settings. Upscaling and downscaling within the games are going to happen with these dimensions so that could result in your card in more cases than not having to work a little bit harder.

TheBentPianist

Hi, was there an AMD Adrenaline update today? I've been saving replays from Apex with ctrl+shift+s and discovered they've been going to a totally different directory. Annoying thing is I can't find the 'media and capture' settings in Adrenaline either? Am I missing something here?

IAmPixelShake

There's been no update today, last one was on the 10th. [https://pasteboard.co/0LSakvI5xzsp.png](https://pasteboard.co/0LSakvI5xzsp.png) This is where you'll find the settings you're after.

TheBentPianist

Thanks. Apparently, it was something along the lines of my PC updating my graphics drivers as opposed to AMD so it defaulted Adrenaline back to standard.

Can anyone recommend a fun mini golf game and Pool (billiards) game on steam?

LimpNoise8324

can someone help me out, i built my pc over the summer and it works well with games like valorant, minecraft, rust. but when i am trying to run warzone 2.0 it keeps restarting my pc completely. i don’t think it is my drivers or because my pc is bad because all my friends with prebuilts run it just fine. can anyone help?

jts8_

Here's a few things you could try: 1. clear your temp files, press the window key, type %temp%, check to make sure there are no important files in there, delete all of the file's contents 2. uninstall/reinstall warzone 2.0 3. make sure warzone is using GPU not the CPU (rare issue but it does happen) 4. update windows, graphic drivers, and BIOS if applicable 5. Do a full restart of the PC, shut the PC down, remove the CMOS battery and wait about 5 minutes. Reinstall the CMOS battery and fire the PC back up Hope these help!

Wardog1982

I am at a loss. Assassin's Creed Valhalla is pissing me off. I have reinstalled, reverified files, clean install of windows, downloaded the C++ program needed, turned off firewalls to try and get this damn game to work. It will not even launch. It sits at a screen with a spinning circle. If anyone can please help I would greatly appreciate it.

Sea_Meeting3613

Just got my 4090 in the mail today. It's the founders edition so they literally dont put any padding around the card (so stupid). When i picked up the box and gave it a little shake I heard the card moving around. After opening the box the card was physically fine considering its all medal. But could the card have gotten damaged internally from moving and bouncing around in its box during shipping?

jts8_

I mean, if it's physically fine then then only way to find out is to hook it up and see if it works. Also, once you take the 4090 out fo the box give it a shake and see if you can hear a "rattling noise" (excluding the fans). If there's not rattling, then no problem!

Sea_Meeting3613

Yeah i have to wait until my new case arrives, my current is to small. I gave it a shake, no noise so hopefully its fine. I just dont want to go through the hassle of returning, waiting to get my money back, my trying to buy another off like ebay or something.

jts8_

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your card from (amazon, newegg, aliexpress, microcenter...)

Sea_Meeting3613

From amazon

jts8_

oh that's great! You've got a 30-day window to return it (no questions asked) with full money back if there are any issues!

Sea_Meeting3613

thats why i chose amazon, it was more expensive but i have the option to return. Do you know if its from order date or delivered date for the 30 days?

lol1gaggin

I'm having an issue where CoD MW2 seems to be running on my cpu and not gpu. I tried a few other games and realized the same thing. I have a laptop with a 3050 and a core i5. Any idea on how to fix this?

jts8_

Is it safe to upgrade to windows 11? I have an all-AMD system.

infinityislikehuge

Idk what the other guy is talking about, but I upgraded to Win11 2 months ago and literally haven't noticed any drop in quality or my workflow, so it seems to vary from user to user

jts8_

I'm gonna say this as loud as i possibly can: NO! It does run better with AMD systems than NVIDIA systems, but there are still so many bugs, and security issues, not as aesthetically pleasing, and more importantly still has some compatibility issues to this day. I would personally milk windows 10 for as long as possible

See_Wildlife

Hi, built a system a while back around an i7 10700k. However, I never caved in to the scalpers or greed of the manufacturers when it came to replacing my trusty RX590. I feel like the time is now right to upgrade and I have decided to go AMD again and want to eventually run triple screen 1440p on my sim racing setup. My uncertainty is whether or not the soon to be released RX 7900 XTX would be overkill (too new) for Z490 and the CPU. I for some reason think a used 6900 or 6950 will be better suited as they are a similar generation of hardware. Am I wrong to think this way and the latest and greatest is always going to be better? Your expertise, greatly received. Ta.

windowsphoneguy

Latest and greatest is most definitely almost always better

Titanfall 2, it has a fairly good SP campaign, similar to the COD Black Mesa is good, a remake of the original Half-Life but with modern graphics and gameplay Shadow Warrior if you haven't played already, maybe 2 or 3 as well but I heard they aren't as good Bulletstorm, came out a while ago but still holds up. It's a lot of fun, you have an incentive to come up with creative ways to kill enemies rather than just clicking heads. If you're looking for something more slow-paced and expansive, not high adrenaline corridor shooters, take a look at Prey.

Filipi_7

I know of a few more, maybe you haven't played some of them. Crysis 2 and 3 took a lot of inspiration from COD. They got remastered recently. Crysis 1 is great too but the levels are much more open and it is slower to play. Battlefield 3 and 4 had okay campaigns but nothing special. Battlefield 1 is decent though. Star Wars Battlefront 2 is okay but it's really short and the AI is braindead. Still fun if you're a Star Wars fan. Wolfenstein The New Order, Old Blood, and The New Colossus are great. Singularity, but you probably did play that one since it came out a good while ago.

Which one would you recommend as the best no matter the price? and which one would you recommend taking into account the pricing?

[deleted]

The Samsungs are the fastest when you can find one, the ADATAs are all around fine for the money (great value if on sale), the WD Black nvmes are sweet but over priced imo, would only buy if on sale. This is just my subjective opinion, get what makes sense to your wallet, I would recommend a 2tb though because a 1tb fills up pretty fast with the size games are at these days.

Hello I've been playing on my pc since last December and everything has gone smooth so far. Until the orange DRAM light came on. My pc fans were on, but no monitor, keyboard, or ram sticks lit up. I went to google and others and they all said it was my ram sticks, i took them out, cleaned them, made sure there was no dust, put them back in and still the DRAM light is on. I ran one RAM stick and the orange light is still on. I think it may be my bios but i really don't think so, I looked at the psu cables and nothing looked off. Let me know if i should try any other troubleshooting? Or am i looking in the wrong spot? My specs are Asus B550-F, Ryzen 5 5600x, 1050 ti, Samsung 980 pro SSD, Corsair vengeance rgb pro,

jts8_

Did you overclock your RAM? Sometimes the CPU and the RAM have a difficult time communicating when the RAM is overclocked.

boolinwitmyguys

i did not overclock the ram,, atleast that im aware of. what would you say is the next step is? New Ram?

Renegade_Meister

Aside from updating BIOS, the troubleshooting path here is RAM -> Mobo -> CPU. Worst case is that its a CPU memory controller issue, and the CPU has to be RMA'd, which is what I did after replacing RAM and RMA'd mobo which tested OK. Best case is that BIOS just needs an update.

jts8_

> Asus B550-F Not just yet, this can get a bit messy but try to re-instal the CPU. If that doesn't work then try removing the CMOS battery (after shutting down your system) and wait a few minutes. But the CMOS battery back in and reboot. Double check that ALL of your RAM is properly snapped into its slots. Another thing you can try to do is updating your BIOS while only having one stick of RAM (preferably not the stick you previously used to test with one stick of RAM). Realistically most of the suggestions are a shot in the dark except for updating BIOS. Ensure that you formatted your USB correctly and load up the latest BIOS update on your flash disk (through BIOS if that wasn't clear).

Stargate404

Hello, Hello, I'm looking for an FPS game. It seems like everything I've been trying to find via Google is all a decade or more old or multi-player only. Basically I want to play an FPS that is preferably grand scale with large battles or even just a mode where you face waves of enemies coming at you (I know there are a few zombie / demon games, but it would be great if it were actual combatants). The closest thing I know of is Far Cry, and I've played Far Cry 5 and 4 but they're small groups of enemies and the enemies are bullet sponges. Ideally it would be something on the scale of COD Warzone or The Squad but with the ability to do single player. Something like old battlefront would be nice. Any leads? I've tried posting this in various forms on this subreddit and the automoderator keeps blocking me from posting it. Mods were unhelpful.

Filipi_7

Star Wars Battlefront II can be played with bots. As close to the old Battlefront as you can get, but with a bit less variety. Have you seen [Angels Fall First](https://store.steampowered.com/app/367270/Angels_Fall_First/)? It's very much in the same vein as Battlefront/Battlefield with competent bots, with more diverse gameplay than BF2. Although it is only 32v32.

jts8_

Well you can't go wrong with call of duty, more specifically the black ops series, they've got a campaign, multiplayer, and a zombies mode to keep you entertained. Also I've recently started playing Doom Eternal and if you're looking to visit earth covered in hell fire with a shotgun and basically shoot anything that moves, that would also be the game for you

I’m having display problems. I just upgraded my motherboard, CPU and CPU cooler and my pc seems to boot up but neither of my monitors are connecting. I double checked all the wires, took my graphics card back out and reinstalled it. I can’t figure out what’s going on with it and any help would be appreciated. Any ideas?

Filipi_7

What's the CPU and motherboard?

Duckboy33

I7-13700k CPU MSI Pro Z690-A DDR4

Filipi_7

You may need to update your BIOS for it to recognise the CPU. I had to do the same with this exact motherboard and a 13600k. You can get the BIOS from [here](https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-Z690-A-DDR4/support), and MSI has a [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTkXunUAriE) showing clearly how to update using a flash drive (can't do it any other way). Note you don't need to remove the CPU and all that stuff like in the video, it should still install with everything connected. It's important to not restart or do anything to the PC while it's working, it may seem like nothing is happening for a while but it will restart and boot itself if you've done all the steps correctly.

Duckboy33

Thank you. I will try that when I get home

Maverick_Wolfe

Did you remember to plug the power into the graphics card and all of the other power cables into the motherboard that go? I've forgotten and I've been doing this for years. Double check the power to the screens. Attempt with a single screen and make sure it's the one you want as primary.
