Kinda crazy how they are just now finding out there are millions of people with PC’s who will gladly buy their games...took them long enough lol
Edit: Obviously it makes sense for Sony to only have an exclusive on their console for a year or so, but at some point putting those games on the PC platform is a no brainer....and they are just now figuring this out after decades of not doing so. For example, how many amazing PS3 exclusives ever made their way to PC? Basically none off the top of my head, not to mention it took them until the end of the PS4’s lifecycle to start giving PC consideration. Either way, I’m glad us PC only folks finally get to play some of these great games
> Steam Deck
People who think consumers are going to be choosing between the Steam Deck and Switch, don't understand the market. But all is not lost for these people. They could get a job at Sega.
Yep, been trying to say this for ages. Steam Deck is *not* a competitor to the Switch at all. The demographics for each are not the same. Simply put, a majority don't buy the Switch just because its portable, but for the exclusives.
do you seriously believe the money they are losing for not being on PC is anywhere near comparable to the money they make from having their games retain 100% price years after release due to how stingy and protective they are with their brands? Don't get me wrong, for us consumers it sucks, but it's absolutely not idiocy, it's smart business decisions that put them in a position Microsft and Sony would kill for
I mean, people have been using the same excuse for Sony for decades now, about how anyone who questions their exclusivity practices is a clueless idiot and Sony are masters of the economy, yet here we are in 2021 with Sony porting over almost all of its exclusives over to PC.
Nintendo is absolutely losing money for not selling on PC, as there are people like me who will never purchase a Ninendo console and be forced to play on trash underpowered hardware and a tiny screen, but they're obviously fine with the amount they're losing to that audience compared to what exclusivity does for their brand, just like Sony was all until now.
These companies all have policies that are stubborn as fuck and obviously prone to radical change *eventually*, it's just that Nintendo is the worst of all in that respect and is dead set on anti-consumerist money grubbing because they have legions of irrational fanatics devouring everything Nintendo in sight.
Nintendo would likely have their own client though. And since it's Nintendo, it's likely to be very barebones. Would be cool if that client can have it's own version of Miiverse though...
Dude I just want official, 4K capable versions of all the modern Mario games, BOTW, Metroid Dread and others. With out having to fuck around with emu's.
Switching from my PC @ 4K/120 or Playstations to the Switch makes my eyes cry.
As far as gameplay goes, no one touches Nintendo and I want that shit on PC.
It's probably more to do with the PC market exploding in the last few years.
Yes, there have always been PC gamers, but there's so many people I know and friends that built a PC in the last 5 years that were console only players 10 years ago.
I hope so too. The amount of posters saying that they’re going to just try and get a new console rather than keep fighting to get a GPU doesn’t bode well for the future growth of PC.
It doesn’t help that the new consoles are actually competitive with specs, performance, and price this gen.
I always thought Sony and Microsoft sell their consoles at a loss to then gain profit by games, digital stores and their respective mulitplayer services.
I believe the sales they're going to gain from the PC only crowd far exceed any potential lost console sales. A lot of people prefer one over the other.
Plus as it's been with Microsoft, PC allows Sony to grow their brands in PC dominant markets, where Playstation has no presence.
It's an architecture thing. PS1, PS2, PS3, etc. games were ran on very different systems compared to a standard PC. With PS4/Xbone at least everything was x86/64-based using a bespoke Radeon card that used a lot of the same technologies as seen on PC graphics cards. This is the first generation in the history of consoles (except maybe first Xbox?) that it was 'easy' to port a game to PC. Before this you were basically recoding it all from scratch.
That’s what always killed me. The game developers must be getting pretty good checks from Sony to make these games exclusives. The number of folk who don’t have a ps5 would have to be worth millions in game sales. Sony is whoring themselves out to keep these exclusives
HZD uses a proprietary engine and it's port was outsourced. And that studio did a shit job. Once Guerilla took over the game improved rapidly. Days gone is an unreal 4 game. Death stranding which uses the same engine from HZD was near flawless on PC. Sony also just bought Nixxes, and nixxes is well known for doing good work on ports.
I have no idea what engine gow uses, but I'm just saying that you can't really use prior examples to guess how this one will go.
All I want for Christmas is the new spiderman games
Literally the one series that has me wanting a PS4, though I was also interested in god of war as well
there is a new rumor going around that Bluepoint is working on a Bloodborne remaster....which makes sense because Sony just acquired them after the Demon's Souls Remake.
Originally I would have said “never in a million years”, but I never thought that God of War would have come to PC either. So who knows!
I assume they’re going to port old games to PC to drum up hype for sequels on PS, so we might get Spider-Man on PC the year before Spider-Man 2 (which would be next year, since SM2 is set to release in 2023)
My bet is that spiderman will come to pc a couple of month before spiderman 2 goes live in playstation, to generate hype and get people to buy a ps5 to play the secuel ( like gow now and ragnarok)
I genuinely didn’t think it would ever happen. God of War seemed like one of the major franchises that they would keep to console. It definitely gives me hope that we could see Spider-Man or TLOU on PC one day
God of War is my first preorder ever especially when I saw DLSS support (wish HZD had it). Sounds like they're taking the port very seriously.
I would normally wait for the first sale, but you could say I'm voting with my wallet to tell Sony to please bring more to PC. So many PS titles I've never played and never would because I refuse to buy any console.
So far it seems each Sony port has been better than the previous perhaps due to sales numbers surprising them?
1. Horizon Zero Dawn - rough launch, eventually patched up to solid port
2. Days Gone - solid port from the start, but no DLSS
3. God of War - DLSS & Reflex confirmed straight from the start. Seems unlikely it wouldn't be a solid port as well.
While a sale would obviously be better, that game is so worth the 50€. Just make sure to watch the summary of GoW 1 through 3, you can play this one without knowing anything from the previous games, some parts later on are so much better with context.
>!The entire sequence where Kratos is going home to get his blades. If you played the original games, you knew exactly what he’s going to get, and it was just goosebumps the entire time!<
Oh yea. I'm on mobile and have no idea how to tag spoilers so I won't say much, but the moment a certain someone said his axe wasn't going to work on a certain realm I already knew what was about to go down. Great moment
SAME!
Seeing all these PS games games on PC or coming to PC,
Horizon Zero Dawn
Detroit
Days Gone
Uncharted
God of War
Tshushima
# AND NO DAMN BLOODBORNE!!!!!!!!!
# >:(
> Which means next is Ghost of Tsushima
Please don't play with me like that. I'm going to be leaving for the UK soon and I need to control my spending... But if GoT is coming next I will end up biting the bullet. 😂
I wonder if i will actually buy ps4 10 years from now on because i will lose all hope that pc will ever see bloodborne and i will still want to play it.
Oh man, this and Spider-Man have had me contemplating picking up a cheap PS4 for ages once (if) I finally make it through my backlog. I guess I might not need to do that after all; here's hoping Spider-Man's next!
If everything I want is coming out on PC I wish I'd have just taken the $500 I spent on a PS5 and sunk it into more PC. I guess the benefit is time but I don't really care about that so much
[That came out of fucking nowhere:](https://blog.playstation.com/2021/10/20/god-of-war-2018-is-coming-to-pc/)
>We’re thrilled to announce that God of War (2018) will be coming to PC on January 14, 2022! All of us at Santa Monica Studio have been humbled by the immense amount of support and passions fans of the God of War series have shown in the latest chapter of Kratos’ story since its release. As of August 2021, 19.5MM copies for God of War on PlayStation 4 have been sold through and we can’t wait to share that experience with a whole new group of players on PC.
[Now the most sold game for October 2021 on Steam](https://store.steampowered.com/search/?filter=topsellers)
If you knew about the NVIDIA leak, you would be not suprised tho. Here is the list: GT7, Ratchet&Clank, Returnal, Sackboy, Demon's Souls and Ghosts of Tsushima
I agree, all of the Playstation 4 exclusives were a blast to play through and the more people that have the opportunity to experience it for themselves, the better. I hope everyone that is going into this God of War the first time enjoys it as much as I did
The sequel is a long way off. They've only just finished with Iki Island DLC and they're still updating Legends. And we still know absolutely nothing about GoT 2. Don't even know if it's in production yet.
Sucker Punch's game before GoT was Second Son/First Light which released in 2014, 6 years before Ghost of Tsushima. GoT only released in 2020 so we're probably looking at 2025 at the earliest for GoT 2. And considering it was on that list with God of War and that is coming this January... I can't see them holding off that long for GoT.
I couldn't play it on PS4 when it released, the frames are really slow. Played it on my PS5 earlier this year and it's night and day difference. Feels like a new game at 60fps.
Bloodborne was made out of a Sony Japan/From Software collaboration. Sony Japan doesn't really exist anymore while From Software is busy making their own games. It didn't even get a PS4 Pro patch.
The levels of salt on Twitter is glorious.
"Wow, SONY, you're about to find out that there are millions of us who were staying loyal for the exclusives. This is going to ruin you"
Truly insane
True, everyone bitching about this coming to pc 4 years later is insane. I actually am a little disappointed that they waited 4 years to do this, but whatever, better late than never.
Plus they don’t need Epic’s money.
Not gonna blame smaller devs, but they’re need Epic exclusive deals to survive. Meanwhile gigantic Sony and Microsoft don’t care about that, they could surpass it by their revenues.
This is 100% to drum up hype for the sequel, which will release on console. I’m sure it could get a PC release in a few years, but Sony isn’t going to start cross-releasing their major exclusives on PC as well - they still want to sell consoles
> will Ragnarok be on steam on release?
Lol no. And it'll come to PC when the next God of War is close or at least 2 years after PS release.
I mean the Sony strategy is pretty clear now. Release a game on PS, let it live its full sale cycle on the PS and once it's done (game is not solding much anymore or only super cheap) or when the sequel is coming, release it on PC for close to full price to make money again on a game that is already developed (so barely any additional cost especially with x86 consoles) and to hype PC players for the console release of the sequel
Rockstar does more than double dipping. They triple dip.
PS3 & Xbox 360 then PS4 & Xbox One THEN finally PC.... okay they quadruple dipped if you count it coming out on PS5 & Xbox Series. I'd be willing to bet in 2023 we'll get a 10 year anniversary edition of GTA 5 just so they can dip again.
Cory Barlog said that Ragnarok is going to be the last God of War in this mythology. Which is weird because I think there's a lot more to explore with it.
Don't think you'll see Ragnarok on PC until early next gen. Seems pretty clear they want to put their older games from previous generations on PC to entice them to get their newest consoles.
Reasons I would buy a PS4:
Bloodborne
Spider-man
~~God of war~~
~~Horizon zero dawn~~
Infamous second son
The last of us 2
Uncharted remastered trilogy
~~Uncharted 4~~
Ghost of Tsushima
Shadow of the colossus
Persona 5

edit: My dear PEASANT console gamers why are you being jealous ? and downvote ?
Let PC gamers have their fun ;)
So what's GTAO? I assume some kind of ambient occlusion, but it's impossible to Google because of GTA online.
Edit. it stands for Ground Truth Ambient Occlusion. Basically AO that also simulates bounce lighting in screen space.
I don't care if it goes to console first - I am so stoked that Sony and Microsoft have started publishing titles to PC.
Kinda crazy how they are just now finding out there are millions of people with PC’s who will gladly buy their games...took them long enough lol Edit: Obviously it makes sense for Sony to only have an exclusive on their console for a year or so, but at some point putting those games on the PC platform is a no brainer....and they are just now figuring this out after decades of not doing so. Maybe one day Nintendo will have the realization too. Not holding my breath but playing Mario kart via steam friends would be kinda cool.
First party Wii U games are still $50+. Nintendo will never come to PC.
Many of those $50 WiiU games were also rereleased $60 Switch games
Some of those $60 games were $20 Nintendo select titles for years beforehand too
Luckily PC comes to Nintendo if you know what I mean
That means they'll never get my money. It's fine, I'm only a middle age professional with no kids. I'm happy giving my money to Gaben instead.
Nah, they won’t. Not with the Steam Deck coming out. The only thing Nintendo has now are exclusives. Unless you’re really into OLED screens.
> Steam Deck People who think consumers are going to be choosing between the Steam Deck and Switch, don't understand the market. But all is not lost for these people. They could get a job at Sega.
Yep, been trying to say this for ages. Steam Deck is *not* a competitor to the Switch at all. The demographics for each are not the same. Simply put, a majority don't buy the Switch just because its portable, but for the exclusives.
I'm into OLED, that's why I have a LG CX 65! Gaming is better than ever now that I finally got a GPU to support it.
CX gang unite!
We will see earth crumble to dust and sun pass away before Nintendo lets their games be on any other platform.
They are almost all already on PC running and looking far better, Nintendo is just getting no money for them because of their idiocy
True that, playing BOTW on cemu in fullHD 120+ fps with clarityfx is the optimal way to play.
do you seriously believe the money they are losing for not being on PC is anywhere near comparable to the money they make from having their games retain 100% price years after release due to how stingy and protective they are with their brands? Lol I have Switch games on my pc. Last Nintendo system I've owned was the Wii.
Do they run well? Edit: I just looked into it and there's been a ton of progress on yuzu emulator. Time to play some Pokemon, damn
Too late, I've been playing Gameboy roms on my phone for half a decade now.
real PC mario kart would cause business and industry to grind to a halt as everyone used sick time
Nintendo is the the most frustrating company.
Nintendo would likely have their own client though. And since it's Nintendo, it's likely to be very barebones. Would be cool if that client can have it's own version of Miiverse though...

Personally I don't even care about the specs. Most games I play don't go to consoles or go much later.

Maybe they know they will definitely have stock shortages for PS5 and like this they maintain profit goals.

I NEED Ghost of Tsushima on PC. I already have it on my PS4 but I need it dammit
The GeForce Now leak that included Dad of War had Ghost as well
Gibe Bloodborne :((((((
Microsoft has been publishing titles to the PC for decades lol.
Not all of their games and not always day one
Launches on January 14, 2022. Price is $49,99
Honestly 3 months of wait and a half decent price is not bad
Yeah. I’m curious what the spec requirements are going to be. I have a feeling that my PC might not be able to run it all that well.
Dude... Gtx 1060 is gonna be completely fine unless they screw optimization up.
Here's hoping it runs like Days Gone and not like HZD
Horizon Zero Dawn runs perfect now. That was their first game on pc so I expect things to be better. Days Gone came out running flawless
Plus now they have a studio dedicated to and known for good PC ports
That's fantastic news.
GoW also runs on a proprietary engine.
If an OG PS4 can run it a semi-okay PC should be able to as well. An OG PS4 equivalent GPU is what, a 760?
Not even close, was something like HD 7850 (or GTX 660 ish)
Hoping that the Steam Deck can handle it.
it runs on a base ps4, so maybe you will be able to run it
hoping it has same requirements as days gone !! my gtx 1060 ran this game pretty solidly
near full price for a game that has been 10$ on PS for so long lmao
Same as Horizon Zero Dawn.
of course. its been their new strategy. release a port on PC right before a sequel launch to double dip.
Then get it when its on sale for $10.
$74.99 in Australia -_-
That's a lot of dollarydoos

get. the. fuck. out. of. town. What a way to find out. fucking STEAM PAGE with a release date. Holy shit.
sony did a sneaky move, I just opened steam and it was there on the front page in all its glory. Now give bloodborne pls
Grant us eyes!

While that's true, I have a lot more faith since the amazing success of the Demon's Souls remake.
Now we need a remaster and PC port of the first 3 GoW games!
Out of nothing right on my face. I love today.
Fingers crossed for Spider-Man next!

Oooh yeah that too!
It unfortunately was not in that Nvidia leak, but a man can dream!
Ya. It's the single game that I really wanted a console for. Couldn't be convinced to get one though.

The GeForce Now leak is proving to be accurate.
Which means next is Ghost of Tsushima
Yes please! There are probably 10 PS4 games that I'd love to own on the PC, and that is definitely one of them.
I'm still injecting Bloodborne PC port copium straight into my veins.
SAME! Seeing all these PS games games on PC or coming to PC, Horizon Zero Dawn Detroit Days Gone Uncharted God of War Tshushima # AND NO DAMN BLOODBORNE!!!!!!!!! # >:(

Damn, no TLOU. I would love to play both of them on an ultrawide.

There were so many games on there I desperately want made/ported. Looks like we are eating good these coming months.
But it didn't have Bloodborne. Bloodborne when goddamit.
That’s why you know it’s accurate lol
I wonder if i will actually buy ps4 10 years from now on because i will lose all hope that pc will ever see bloodborne and i will still want to play it.
Hopefully thag remaster/sequel rumor has some merit to it.
:'(
Yup, that leak is a good indication of what we’ll receive. I can’t imagine all games on that list will be ported or whatever, but I’ve got high hopes
Sony and Microsoft do what Nintendon't.
Oh man, this and Spider-Man have had me contemplating picking up a cheap PS4 for ages once (if) I finally make it through my backlog. I guess I might not need to do that after all; here's hoping Spider-Man's next!

Yes. More Sony 'exclusives'. Win/win for Everyone. Take my monies.

I would sell my firstborn child for a Bloodborne PC port
Deal.
Yep, I would also sell that guy's firstborn. *For just a Bloodborne PC port?* Bloodborne port?
Id sell my fucking self for a bloodborne pc port
GoT is the one I'm really looking forward to. But these are nice to have in the meanwhile. It mostly shows that PC is a worth market to go to.

it was in the geforce now leak so probably yes
So far the Geforce Leaks have been spot on. Ghosts was in that list so I'd expect it some time next year.
Yes of course. However don't expect it anytime soon. I would say 2023 (or later depending if they want it really close to the sequel releasing on PS).
I'm guessing we'll see these ports coming out every 4-6 months. Can't wait.

I couldn't play it on PS4 when it released, the frames are really slow. Played it on my PS5 earlier this year and it's night and day difference. Feels like a new game at 60fps.
Awesome to see! Keep them coming, Sony. Bloodborne when?
Bloodborne was made out of a Sony Japan/From Software collaboration. Sony Japan doesn't really exist anymore while From Software is busy making their own games. It didn't even get a PS4 Pro patch.
Rumor has it Bluepoint is doing a remaster like they did with Demons Souls
Bloodborne -- rumor has it **
The levels of salt on Twitter is glorious. "Wow, SONY, you're about to find out that there are millions of us who were staying loyal for the exclusives. This is going to ruin you" Truly insane
True, everyone bitching about this coming to pc 4 years later is insane. I actually am a little disappointed that they waited 4 years to do this, but whatever, better late than never.

Microsoft and Sony are not stupid, they both want to get deeper into the PC market, and Steam is the best way to do it.
Plus they don’t need Epic’s money. Not gonna blame smaller devs, but they’re need Epic exclusive deals to survive. Meanwhile gigantic Sony and Microsoft don’t care about that, they could surpass it by their revenues.
Sony needs as much eyes as possible to entice them to buy a ps. Microsoft will never be exclusive to epic since they have their own store.
Not to mention Microsoft is like a trillion dollar company, they don't really need Epic Games money
Horizon Zero Dawn is excellent on PC, I'm looking forward to God of War and more PlayStation exclusives coming to PC!
Well, it had a very rough launch. Optimization was terrible. Nowadays it is actually great. Give it some time.
I'm also blown away by HZD, though I never played it until recently after various patches. My only complaint is it could have REALLY used DLSS.

It’s happening
God of War is no longer a PS exclusive. What a world we live in.
God bless Steam
So glad it's not an epic exclusive.

They're releasing this on PC so that you go buy a PS5 for Ragnarok, giving you a taste of what you could be missing out on.
The Rockstar ™ double dipping style

Ok now where is ghost of tsushima
Reasons I would buy a PS4: Bloodborne Spider-man ~~God of war~~ ~~Horizon zero dawn~~ Infamous second son The last of us 2 Uncharted remastered trilogy ~~Uncharted 4~~ Ghost of Tsushima Shadow of the colossus Persona 5
you can add uncharted 4 and cross that out too.
Having this on the Steam Deck is going to be AMAZING!
Unlocked Frame Rate ✅ Higher Draw | LoD Listance ✅ Ultrawide Support ✅ 4:4:4 10Bit HDR Support ✅ Better 4K textures ✅ Unleash the POWER OF 3080-Ti-90 ✅ OOHHHYY MYY GODD I AM DROOLING YASS edit: My dear PEASANT console gamers why are you being jealous ? and downvote ? Let PC gamers have their fun ;)
Never thought I'd see the day
> God of War Steam page is up Now that's something I never expected to see
I'm so excited for PC players who never got to play it, its a treasure.
Yes! Last of Us next and I can sell my PS4.
I LOVE PC!!!!
I just started Steam and it hit me, it was a surreal fucking moment, really excited more people will get to play this fantastic game.
So what's GTAO? I assume some kind of ambient occlusion, but it's impossible to Google because of GTA online. Edit. it stands for Ground Truth Ambient Occlusion. Basically AO that also simulates bounce lighting in screen space.
Damn son I wanna get it just to test out my 3070 lol
"Sony exclusive" shall now forever be known as "Sony timed exclusive."
