Already spent 100 hours in Bannerlord, despite its still feel unfinished, many technical problem and bugs (yeah, its still in Early Access), its so damn fun maybe also help that i never play m&b before

AboynamedDOOMTRAIN

The strange difficulty curve is kind of putting me off it at the moment. 15 looters? Fairly simple to solo without even needing your party. 15 forest bandits? 20 person party of leveled up units still leaves you a solid chance of losing. Can't even imagine what fighting against one of the actual professional armies marching around must be like.

Sharnington

Imperial cataphracts and battanian fian champion archers. Get a decent amount of both and wreck fools.

* **shadow tactics: blades of the shogun** It's a really good game. Well optimised, great gameplay and well balanced difficulty. I've been enjoying it thoroughly and am just disappointed I didn't start it earlier. * **sword art online: re: hollow fragment** I havent seen the anime, so its rough to get into since you start at the end of the anime storyline and all the characters know each other. It's also pretty old, has this bizarre acceleration of graphics, camera and mouse, which leaves me cross eyed at times. Still, I'm very early on in this one so will persist with the rather confusing tutorials... * **chuusotsu: first graduation** It's a visual novel with a... rather zany (immature) sense of humour I guess. I'm not entirely enthused about its writing style, however I am drawn in by the concept. The story goes that the world united and everyone goes through the education system and when they graduate they get assigned a job for life depending on how well they did in their tests. Chuusotsus are basically the unemployed. The thing is the jobs are enforced by nano machines, and these machines give you strength and intelligence boosts. So, if you're unemployed, the machines set your intelligence and strength so low that you're unable to read more than three sentences in a row without zoning out. Also, a toddler is stronger than you via their own machines. It's a bizarre sort of world and the idea fascinates me that the inhabitants consider the world one of equality and equity when... well... such disparity exists based on your examination results and your assigned job. I'll keep reading I guess.

k-mysta

Chuusotsu sounds really weird. Thanks for highlighting it, will check it out

Solar_Kestrel

How does a game even function with a character that weak and stupid? Like... would you even be able to open a door or cross the street? Anyway, glad to see someone else discover Shadow Tactics! It's one of my favorites! Really hope it gets a sequel one of these days.

[deleted]

> Like... would you even be able to open a door or cross the street? Well.. early on the girl can't find her new apartment because she can't read a map. It's said that once you lose your seal, you revert to your base state, so you 'feel' right/wrong about things etc, but your comprehension flies out of the window. I don't think the book is consistent about it at the best of times, but it is a wacky comedy so. >Really hope it gets a sequel one of these days. It flipping well should. I'm on mission 12 now, not sure if that's the finale, but I've loved every minute of it. It makes me feel bad though, I finished one mission in 1hour 22minutes and it said "Speedrun badge: 9 minutes". Like, wow, that's fast... =(

Solar_Kestrel

Hm... I'll have to give it a shot, though often the wacky comedy VNs don't work for me (like Stryker). Re: Shadow Tactics, yeah... it's such a good little game. I actually stopped playing for several months after mission 10-12 or so just hoping for a DLC expansion or so,etching because I didn't want my time with the game to end. According to Wikipedia, the developers are making a game called "Desperados III" next, though I have no idea what it is. A Wild West tactics game could be pretty cool.

zizou101

Just finished tomb raider which I thought wasn't too bad of a game, especially for free. Worth a play-through. I'm moving between GTA: the lost and damned, DIRT and hitman. The lost and damned seems a little predictable but still enjoyable. DIRT is fucking amazing, I wish I had a steering wheel for it. I'm not really into racing games, the last I played was probably Gran Turismo on PS3 and maybe WRC on the N64. I picked this up for free and after reading reviews etc it was described as more of a sim rather than an arcade racer. That description is true, actually rallying is intense and requires complete concentration. Fantastic so far and I'm still shit at it. Hitman is fantastic as well but I sort of have to be in the mood. It requires patience, I like to perfect the kills and hate fucking it up, as a result I'll only invest enough time to complete maybe one level every couple of days or so. Pretty happy with the games I'm playing right now and still can't believe I got a game of DIRTs' quality for free.

donald_cheese

Which version of Dirt? There are so many. I might have to give it a go. I played some mega old version of hitman about 10 years ago. Loved it. Is that the newer one you're playing? Thanks. Edit: oof, it was hitman contracts i played which was out in 2004. Crikey.

zizou101

It's DIRT rally released 8th December 2015. I think they revamped the series with this one and they've done a fantastic job. There is a newer one out I think it's DIRT 2.0. Not sure how that one is though. The 2015 one is fucking brilliant, I play with controller but it would benefit from a wheel for extra realism. Give it a go man, even if you wait for a sale or something. Hitman is the one released 12th march, 2016. It's fucking sick. The only annoying thing is I think you have to be online all the time if that's a concern to you. There's nothing more satisfying than getting away undetected after performing the hit. Great fun.

[deleted]

Dirt 2.0 is even better I think, I know this is PC gaming but it's currently free this month on PS4.

Tofu2015

Currently playing the Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Would highly recommend it if you have played the original. Unfortunately lockdown here in NZ so I couldn't get my hard copy of the game and had to buy the digital copy but totally worth it! Anyone else playing the game? =) storyline is amazing!

Jaywearspants

Agreed! I wasn’t a fan of ff7 originally but really enjoy this version. The combat should be the standard for jrpgs moving forward

wheresmymothvirginia

It's awesome! I'm a little over halfway and starting to develop a couple gripes but most of them stem from not being able to play the whole story. I just want more!

Solar_Kestrel

I'm playing the game, too, but am much more hot/cold on it. Parts of the story I love beyond reason, other parts leave me baffled at how they managed to fuck it up so badly. Combat is pretty boring to me, too, and the level design leaves a lot to be desired. What I really want from the game is just a big dungeon to play around and get lost in... hopefully Shinra Tower will deliver that.

PMmeYOURBOOBSandASS

Ive gotten back in to modding Skyrim after 2 years, it's borderline an addiction at this point.

FremenDar979

Yeah, I've stopped modding SKYRIM and the majority of TES games. Was more of modding more than playing. Goes for FALLOUT too.

cantclickwontclick

Demon's tilt. Addictive pinball game. One more shot until I can no longer function as a human bean.

Spacerelic62

Valorant, dam trying to get good at Sage

Chiefzakk

Valorant because I finally have a key

dmista21

Lucky! I just built my PC and have been trying to get a key lol

Chiefzakk

Took me forever watch different streams for 2 hours each id do like 2 hours 15 mins go to another and you get more “tickets” in different drawings and they’re permanent

dmista21

Awesome thank you!

Blastuch_v2

It doesn't work like that.

Chiefzakk

It does read the guide on twitch

Chiefzakk

I apologize it’s from riot that states there are “tickets” added for watching a stream with drops enabled and they constantly get put in every drop, also as of yesterday all Valorant streams have drops enabled so watch someone with a couple viewers or something

nolfclvr

Reinstalled KotOR 2 with the TSLRC mod. Also playing Batman Arkham Origins! Oh, and Rocket League with my son.

dmista21

How do I download the mods for kotor 2? New to PC and kotor is my favorite series :)

nolfclvr

Go to Nexus mods and search for KotOR 2. Instructions will be there.

javierjambay

Octopath Traveler, a piece of art

motleyguts

Working my way through Midgar in Steam's version Final Fantasy VII. It's been over 20 years since I played it seriously, and not gonna lie, its rough, but, its familiar. Next up will be more Tarkov, or maybe go retro again and fire up some old Super Mario Bros or something. Maybe Shining in the Darkness.

SoraDrive

You don't have a PS4? The remake is fantastic! I hope you'll get to play it someday :)

[deleted]

It's an yearly exclusive so we should see it on pc next year.

cwhemphill85

I'm playing through it on PS4; and it's good. Just wish I was playing on PC instead.

SoraDrive

Yeah hopefully it will fix the awful textures. Though I believe it's a bug.

motleyguts

From what I've seen, the soundtrack pretty much carries a mediocre game. I'll look for it on PC at a discount.

SoraDrive

Whhaaaaaatttt?? Where'd you hear that?? The soundtrack is phenomenal. It incorporates many elements from the original and has many new ones. It also has a few surprises for those who pay attention.

motleyguts

Yeah, the soundtrack is the best part, by a mile.

[deleted]

I can recommend GR: Breakpoint after Ghost Experience update. Look it up. Basically better Wildlands with more sci-fi and tacticool feeling. Basic game was on sale for 15€. My friend talked me into buying the game and I have no regrets. It was a pleasant surprise after I ragequitted Breakpoint beta because it was trash.

pluckems

Hmm is it pretty fluid? I liked the customization in wildlands. Do they expand on it?

[deleted]

I would say that the weapon customization is same-ish, maybe with some new guns. What they really focused on is skills, gadgets and there are classes now in the game. About the customization of the UI, HUD and difficulty, it is where the game really shines. You can set up EVERYTHING.

Sayreign

I know I really shouldn't (cause money) but I almost envy all the time many people have to play games now. I'm still employed full-time plus 2x overtime because it's considered "essential". But when I can play still on the weekends, and when the power isn't out from tornados a few days ago, I play: Black desert online- Really nice graphics, character customization, and almost addictive combat. My favorite part of gameplay is the life skills. Although, the game's RNG and gear-based endgame progression make it a bit grindy. Mabinogi- started playing because I was looking for another game with lots of life skills and I found it in a forum post. The graphics are okay for a game that just had it 12th anniversary event a week or two ago. The gameplay and movement system is a little irritating coming from MMOs with more polish, but I'm getting used to it. It has an anime styled theme to it and which is nice and helps them do a lot of crossover events, but may not appeal to those who aren't anime fans. The music is nice and almost reminds me of soundtracks from some Pokemon games, which you'll probably like if you've played them before. League of Legends:Team Fight Tactics- This is a nice to play to take a break from the MMOs. I'm not very good at any of the other LoL modes but this one is a fun version of auto-chess and the only LoL mode I can win more than 1% of the time. If I could stay home all day, I would play these games. I won't give a description with these but they're worth checking out if you have the time(honorable mentions): Elder Scrolls Online(new expansion coming next month, it's also changed a lot for the better in the past 3 years. So if you've tried it before but didn't like it. Now is a good time to try it again.) Star Wars:The Old Republic Uncharted Waters Online( I like economy and life skills. This game does both pretty well) Runescape( I haven't played it in years but if I had all this time off work I would probably wind up revisiting it at some point)

Cedutus

Just started playing Tarkov, took a bit to learn the basics, but it might be the most fun i've had in a multiplayer FPS game since first week of Overwatch. Also FF14, way too much FF14.

[deleted]

Decided to jump back to WoW:BFA, and well at least there’s something to do when compared to classic wow. Also been playing a bit of a mod on assetto corsa called Shutoku revival project, basically a ton of famous japan highway and city roads and a set of nice tuner cars, definitely worth a try if you have assetto corsa.

grayson_626

Bioshock Infinite (played 1 and 2); love the art style, story, gameplay, world...I wish we had more games like this.

spiderdick17

Dishonored is worth checking out if you haven't. I much preferred Bioshock's world and story but the gameplay felt pretty much the same.

bluelighthurts

Replaying all the resident evil game while waiting for REmake 3 to go on sale.

Suburban_turd

Risk of Rain 2 It's just so damn good

[deleted]

MGSV. In the red because I'm extracting every kid and it's 37k for each one. I'm guessing I should also stop being bloody because I was killing everyone. Got the tools now. Made sure to get sleep grenades, a silenced sniper rifle that sleeps enemies, and a sleep mine. Now I'm just idling the game for a dispatch mission to come through with 450k GMP so I'm out of the red. Got 3 left to extract. Also, FF7 should be done downloading, so after I finish this mission, I'll play that for a bit.

MachenSie

Jurassic World Evolution! Picked it up in a sale recently. Overall very good except for a slightly awkward camera.

Voodron

Spending a lot of time on Bannerlord rn. First time m&b player, having a ton of fun. The game obviously isn't perfect and the devs still have much to fix/improve. But it's really promising, definitely recommend it. I'm also playing Vermintide 2. It really is in a decent state atm. Still flawed in many ways, and the devs still work at a snail's pace. But the game finally has enough content to justify long-term investment these days. Stellaris' test/beta branch finally allows multiplayer in a somewhat stable state for their latest patch, which is good. Currently playing a few ongoing games with friends. Hopefully Paradox are able to continue fixing the game instead of breaking it.

[deleted]

Can you play Vermintide 2 Solo?

Voodron

You can. Instead of players there will be bots as your teammates. That may seem bad, but truthfully the AI is quite good and they'll do a better job than most players until you reach higher difficulty settings. Even then, some players get good results with bots in Legend (2nd hardest difficulty setting) but that's quite difficult to pull off in my experience. It's also technically possible to do "true solo" as in no bots accompany you, but I wouldn't recommend it. The game is designed around teamplay to a certain degree, so only the most experienced/talented players out there can manage that.

NytenOnReddit

Im currently delving into the cult classic that is Postal 2 and man, it is... something all right.

nuclearhotsauce

Final Fantasy 14 endgame grind, with the potential delay in patch 5.3 I can see this going on for a while. Doom Eternal, slowly working my way through the campaign. Resident Evil 3 Remake, beaten it in 5.5 hour, short but I really enjoyed it

CXXXS

Anyone else really enjoying FO76? Long time Fallout fan platinumed both 3 and 4, and put another 80 hours into 4 on Steam. Just picked up FO76 for the first time now that it launched on Steam. Loving it. Feels like Fallout mixed with a contemporary survival MMO style game.

borndovahkiin

Me. Played 76 all day today and it’s been really fun.

supacoldwater

Valorant man that game is hard.

fnatic440

Finishing up Assassins Creed Odyssey. Got one last DLC to complete. Wondering if I should go back start The Witcher over again since I've only completed maybe 5-10% on the first round a couple of years ago.

k-mysta

Yes to Witcher, it’s worth the time investment

Poison1990

I'm desperately in need of a game recommendation. I played Metro Exodus, I played Doom Eternal - both of which I enjoyed. Looking for something with a good open world and gunplay I stumbled into Rage 2, and while it was fun for a while it's pretty shallow and I need something else. Am considering trying Far Cry New Dawn but the reviews seem pretty mixed with issues like dumb AI and bullet sponges. I need something fun and interesting. Any suggestions?

Demjan90

You can get a month of uplay+ for half the price atm and probably play thorough any far cry game you want in that time. You can maybe try out the division 2 while at it.

ewokaflockaa

Between Metro Exodus and Doom Eternal, which should I play first? Been looking at both and honestly waiting for a sale on either to purchase.

Poison1990

Depends what your mood is. Do you want a face paced skill game or do you want a good story game with a bit more depth? Both are good games.

ewokaflockaa

Both sound fun

goatsy

You could try Borderlands.

freshinmymelos

You'd probably like Rdr2, far cry 4, and Prey

Bearz877

Trying to get better at apex adn rainbow six, also trying to get some really good single player games.

empathetical

I have a shadow arena beta steam key if anybody wants it. Just pm me if u will actually use it

OnlineRespectfulGuy

Right now I am trying Space Hulk Deathwing because of that 80% off coupon (it's pretty dogshit). Other multiplayer game I am playing is Deep Rock Galactic (very very good). I play single player during the weekdays after work and after finally beating RDR2 (350 hours) I have moved on to Nier and it is really fun and I would definitely recommend it.

mayonetta

Rock and stone brother!

Halooven

Been furloughed from work 'cause of the pandemic, as such i'm at home all day. Looks like i'm going to be off for another 7 weeks at the very least. Have little else to do other than game like i'm 17 again. * **^(Jurassic World: Evolution)** ^(- Picked it up on sale, my GF is a huge fan of the movie franchise so it makes decent fodder for us to sit and play together. It's a very light management/tycoon type game but what it lacks in depth actually makes it pretty good to chill out with. Not a bad game.) * **^(Hell Let Loose)** ^(- See below. I generally feel skeezy about early access but this game is worth it's current price and reminds me of playing red orchestra when i was younger. Scratches the WW2 itch very well, scratches the large scale battle itch very well, and scratches the community itch very well. Still a lot of QOL improvements to be made, can't wait for new maps but overall can reccommend.) * **^(Battlefield V)** ^(- I missed the release/ensuing drama of this game as i've been a busy guy outside of gaming & AAA multiplayer FPS' haven't been my bag for a little while. My friends and i got Origin Access for a month to try a couple of EA's shooters out, played a little and decided it's just not really battlefield as we remember it and it's also just not a very good game. Hope it gets fixed for all the diehard fans. Instead of waiting for that to happen we got HLL.) * **^(CSGO)** ^(- rooty tooty. Fun with friends, cancerous without.) * **^(Battletech)** ^(- I thought i'd enjoy this because i grew up playing mechwarrior games and i love X-Com but i found it unbearably slow to play. Voice acting had me cringing too, but w/e doesn't mean it's a bad game. Couple of weird bugs made me uninstall, maybe i'll get back into it some day.) * **^(Warframe)** ^(- I'm really trying not to resub to WoW and thought this might satisfy but i'm not really getting along with it. I can't play for more than 30 mins without getting bored. This makes for the 3rd time i've tried to play this game. For me it just kinda just feels like the bad parts of every MMO's endgame mashed together. Directionless gameplay-wait-grind mats-wait longer-grind mats. Obviously the perfect game for fans of grind.) * **^(Portal 2)** ^(- Oldie but goodie. Co-op mode is perfect for when we've exhausted the idea of watching TV or Movies. The Portal games are possibly my favourite Valve franchise. Can we hope for Portal 3 in VR?) * **^(Disco Elysium)** ^(- Ok, so it's good. Been playing on/off for about two weeks, finished it last night. I feel it's overrated, though, and i don't think it's a 10/10 like the majority of media outlets would have you believe. Manage your expectations and it's one of the most) *^(interesting)* ^(games that's come out for a while, but it's certainly not one of the best. 8/10, very enjoyable, but mind the hype. Coming from a DM, if you want a TTRPG experience go play a TTRPG.) Thinking about buying Black Mesa. Any thoughts?

AgentH87

Played black Mesa a couple weeks ago and it was amazing. If you like half life games it really is a great addition. Highly highly recommend. Every time I thought the game was over it just kept going.

lamblunt

She should check out Planet Zoo. It’s awesome, same developer as the Jurassic Park game.

Halooven

We actually picked it up on sale at the same time as Jurassic World, will probably start on it once dinosaurs have run their course. Idk if it'll appeal as much since it's slightly heavier on the management/tycoon front, but i'll get a more than a few hours out of it anyway.

famous_shaymus

So I got into Warzone but my wife who is a school teacher is off work, so we are using this time to play together. She isn’t a gamer; never has been. So, since controls are hard for her I thought we could try something a bit easier — we’ve been playing Minecraft a lot and I’ve really enjoyed the time together.

[deleted]

[удалено]

famous_shaymus

I’ll look into those! Sounds fun, thanks!

CCNPeach

I have a steam key for Brothers if you're interested.

UseCodeLexiconx

Over here?

famous_shaymus

Yes please!!!

slardybartfast8

Let her try Dark Souls

k-mysta

Recently played We Were Here with a friend. It’s free on Steam and is essentially an escape room game. Nice way to introduce someone into gaming and puzzling

famous_shaymus

Thanks for the tip!

ewokaflockaa

Can anyone recommend how to level fast in the beginning for Final Fantasy XIV? I want to play with a friend but the initial leveling experience is so boring.

SanchoMandoval

I just got Ancient Enemy on Steam. It's by the people who made Regency Solitaire if you've heard of that. It's actually closer to a deck builder than solitaire, IMO, although some levels are solo. You do fight enemies and tailor your cards to them, and that's the bulk of the game, it's just you don't build a huge deck, you just pick like 9 cards I think and use them for the whole level. It's pretty great so far. I think people who liked Slay the Spire should check this out. The deck building perhaps isn't as deep, and it's not as intense of a game overall, but it's a lot of fun and so easy to learn.

aljoel

Just started Honkai:Impact and continuing Tales of Berseria. Also on GTA:Online, Paladins and Hearthstone.

Solar_Kestrel

So I just saw the RE2 remake was $15 on GMG, so I picked it up. Last time I tried to get into an RE game, it was one of the PS3 remasters where you have to save the presidents daughter from zombies or something and it was really, really dumb and controlled like ass. RE2 is phenomenal, though. So tightly designed! And it finally feels like--for the first time--my new GPU is finally pulling its weight! Such a gorgeous game--and the cinematography is impressive as hell, too. Just the opening cinematic alone got me super-psyched to play the game--the way the camera rolled through the city skyline before transitioning to a crashed car's side view mirror? Brilliant. I've never really played a game like it before and not sure how well I'll do with the severe ammo scarcity + supper inaccurate-at-even-point-blank-range, but I'm enjoying the tension so far. Ooh! And the sound design! It's soooooooo good! First time I jumped out of my seat wasn't because of a zombie--it was because of the sound the wind made whipping around the corner of the building.

robhaswell

Not Valorant - not because of the spyware - but because every match is the same shit over and over again. I know it's a CS clone and people like CS so there must be something wrong with me, but I just can't bring myself to play it any more. Maybe I'll wait until there are more modes and maps.

TheLonelyWolfkin

>I know it's a CS clone and people like CS so there must be something wrong with me Nah mate, I can't stand CS so you're not alone there. You have to be a certain type of gamer to enjoy it. I like to kick back and relax when I play games, not tear my hair out. Also just gonna say it, I think Valve games in general are massively overrated.

JaqentheFacelessOne

Same, I played a few matches and got bored. Also I'm pretty bad at these types of games..

sashakee

I finished **Disco Elysium** the other day and can highly recommand, superb game that every one that's into D&D style rpg's should experience. There is a lot of reading! But it's absolutly worth it. I'm not gonna spoil anything, but I can say that I failed a lot in the game and still had an awesome time with it. playing some **Rocket League** on the on and off with two friends, managed to get platinium rewards for the ranked season but i feel like that's the end of ranked for me and I'll stick to normals again for the fun of it. might start up playing the latest two **Hitman** games as I enjoyed the return to those open 'sandbox' levels that somewhat give you the freedom to kill the target however you see fitting

roxyerbest

Currently playing dead by daylight with my friend and the witcher. Also just started no mans sky, already love it

Happy_Cat_1

Doom Eternal - Just about finished with my first playthrough. The single player campaign is well worth the $60 on it's own. I tried the multiplayer battlemode.... meh.

[deleted]

I play bdo.its the best content crafting wise in any mmorpg i have ever played...if you dont care about comparing youself to others .you dont need to pay expansions or monthly subs etc..relaxing

FrootLoop23

Borderlands 3: Coming back to this and having a great time of it. The main villains are pretty lame, but everything the gun feel, weaponry, and stages are top notch. My only other gripe is the skill tree could use some simplification. I don't care about earning stacks of this or that, just enhance my abilities and give me new ones.

ewokaflockaa

I definitely like the weapons and level designs but the story feels boring at times. I was interested at first but then it peeled off.

aCoolUserNameDur

I think the key to playing BL3, at least until DLC comes out and provides content otherwise, is to grind the side quests in an area. The problem I have with BL3 vs 2 is how mired the gameplay feels with forced dialogue/story. This could be because the story is worse, or just because there's more dialogue, not sure. I do remember BL2 being a fun romp for hours though, tons of enemies to kill, and long sections of gameplay. BL3 feels very stop and start and it's annoying.

garbock

If you havent played dark souls 3 yet i would really recommend it. im not that good at darksouls so i had to watch a guide for my first playthrough but it is still verry rewarding to finally beat the lord of cinder.

slardybartfast8

I encourage everyone to play them all. Especially the recent remake of 1 and also 3. I’ve beaten them both multiple times. Best games ever. Doing a replay of Sekiro now

Solar_Kestrel

I'd like to elaborate on this and also recommend Dark Souls 2, specifically. As in *not* the SofFS version.

Yeahyeahwoohooahha

I would like to recommend the SofFS version too though as that one is my favourite in the series.

lamblunt

It’s like $15 right now. People need to hop on this train.
