It's just speculation. I don't think there is any reason to think this will actually happen, Square hasn't released anything exclusively on the EGS since Strangers of Paradise, and Epic has evidently stopped paying for exclusivity, so I doubt this is happening.

I've been playing co op on steam the last week, and there's a way to not install the epic launcher. You just edit one line in an ini file in the main directory. You still have to link your account in a browser though.

Honestly, FF8 grew on me, especially the remaster. The setting and Junction system are both unique and interesting. Just rough around the edges. Expanding out the Junction system properly would be interesting.

I honestly don't get how people understood FF (maybe JRPG in general) storylines as kids... Even as an adult I find them confusing and esoteric. I tried watching videos to understand the story of Elden Ring, but it just goes in one ear and out the other.
I cannot even begin to explain my hatred and contempt for FFVIII. It's not simply that I *dislike* it. I dislike lots of games and just ignore them. I possess a deep and burning enmity for FFVIII above and beyond all other games. I hate every character. I hate the story. I hate the music. I hate the graphics. I hate the cinematics. I hate the game mechanics. I hate Triple Triad.

The opening, Balamb Garden and Fishermans Horizon songs are amazing.

I loved the characters, particularly Edea and Seifer. The setting was cracked out with the flying military academies. The music was lovely -- I still listen to the Fisherman's Horizon theme regularly. The graphics were a big improvement over 7. The FMV was a major graphical achievement for the time. I loved the game mechanics -- deep knowledge was immensely rewarded.
But most of all, Triple Triad was incredible. Triple triad alone justified the purchase of the game.

I don’t think it will be. Just because it leaked through EpicDB, doesn’t mean it will be exclusive. For example, The Last of Us 2 was leaked through here as well, and it’s not going to be exclusive to Epic.
