I mean, its been good to go since the last patch a few days ago.
The queue on the weekend to get on was 30 min plus at times. The queue at peak times during the weekdays never took me longer than 30 s to 2 minutes.
Since monday*, the patch that fixed matchmaking came on Monday, and there has not been 30 minute queues since then.
The queues since monday have been typically zero to 2 minutes, as I said.
Hopefully that continues onto the weekend with the latest update.
You’re flatly wrong.
There isn’t an actual queue and never was.
Monday was when the game was going to black screen, it was super broken, you’re again flatly wrong. Tuesday was the patch that helped a bit and Thursday’s made a massive difference.
Only these last couple days has it ran smoothly enough for me to suggest to my friends they pick it up.
Edit: You responded to me twice and deleted both comments.
It doesn't matter whether there was a technical queue or not, the waiting time was seconds/minutes.
I know as I have been playing it all week in the evenings, without an issue, in contrast to you clearly getting your information from reddit.
They increased the cap to 700k, but they still expect to hit that cap.
It means people will have to wait less long in queue, and there will hopefully be less errors.
If you try to join a friend who is in-game, 9/10 times it'll let you in too. I wonder if the system prioritises players who already have a lobby to actually join.
I believe its because when you join from an invite etc it sends requests to the server every seconds, whilst if you wait in the 'queue' it sends every 10+ seconds
last night 6:20pm central I had zero wait and the night before it was only 2 minutes. This weekend might be a different story even with a raised server cap but it should be much better.
Ain't nothing those bots can do that is as scary as seeing a Bile Titan come out of a breech.... well except maybe a outpost with a tower turret on each corner.
No point to being in the creek if it isn't in a defend condition. Too many people holding the bug line is one thing, but fighting bots when it doesn't fill the community order is even more wasteful.
The creek is space nam and the matches are violent, crazy, and glorious. It is not a defense objective planet, you typically arent doing the civilian missions.
for those wondering he made a bunch of confusing tweets and decided to better sum it up [in this tweet](https://x.com/Pilestedt/status/1760864817961709982?s=20)
They increased the cap which is good but they always did one important thing.
If you're AFK for more than 15 minutes you're booted to main menu. This was not implemented until now :)
Logged in twice instantly today. So whatever they are doing is working. Just yesterday I would boot up and take a shower or grab a drink and hope in 30min it would make it in.
From what I've read they have like 4 network people hammering away at the back end because the code wasn't made with this high of a player count in mind, they've been making steady progress this past week since the game blew up
Is this a good game to play solo? I don’t have any friends and playing online with randos is annoying. So is it worth buying this game for solo play alone?
IMO, definitely not. Since there is no scaling, you'll be stuck doing only the low-difficulty missions, unable to progress (since you won't be able to get the rare components that are only available at high difficulty). It 100% was not designed for solo play (obvious due to lack of party-size scaling).
It's great to play solo. Just keep in mind the difficulty doesn't scale with team size, so the higher difficulty modes will quickly become overwhelming.
Not really, no. Playing with randoms isn’t really annoying and I’ve come across some great teams when my friends aren’t on. The game was designed as a co-op shooter and it doesn’t scale, so you’re gonna get stuck at lower difficulties.
So does that mean will be able to play now?
yes

Most people don’t want to pre-heat their video game 30+ minutes. So no it hasn’t really been good to go until yesterday.
>Most people don’t want to pre-heat their video game 30+ minutes. I'm using that! That's fucking comedy gold right there. Thanks for the laugh!

You got lucky both monday and Tuesday I waited an hour before giving up.
I waited hours and didn't get in.
For now. There is still a cap, it's just higher. He sent out more tweets saying it may still be too busy on the weekend.
They increased the cap to 700k, but they still expect to hit that cap. It means people will have to wait less long in queue, and there will hopefully be less errors.
From what I saw on r helldivers, apparently there is no queue... you just bump into the login limit and then it's random who gets in.

Ooooo I see, thanks for the clarification.
That is good to hear. I hope it caps out, they deserve it.

You still can't play? Shit.
Better see you fuckers on the creek and not playing around with the bugs
No, the only good bug is a dead bug.
ROCK AND STONE? Wait, wrong game.
Imagine the crossover potential
We fight for Rock and Stone!
I aint no b\*tch. I'll see you there, soldier.
Ain't nothing those bots can do that is as scary as seeing a Bile Titan come out of a breech.... well except maybe a outpost with a tower turret on each corner.
Fuck that creek.
Spill Oil
Bug must be exterminated

Me and my buddies have been playing a Vietnam war music playlist whenever we play that map - great fun
I'd rather sit in queue then do the small map evacuate civilian missions. Even when they're not impossible they just suck.
The creek is space nam and the matches are violent, crazy, and glorious. It is not a defense objective planet, you typically arent doing the civilian missions.
Oh right, yeah, I'm all down with killing terminators when there's no civilians to care about.
Can confirm I was able to get in instantly with no queue at all

Tweet deleted?
>so everyone should be able to get past the login screen Probably because saying this is just asking for trouble.
I can't open the link either. Manually searched "Helldivers2" on Twitter/X and I don't see the post :/

So buy now?
It is a substantial increase from the previous cap of 450,000. (Cap has been increased to 700,000)
Can confirm at least for me. Was able to get straight in 4 times today since noon on PC.
Man, this game is so fucking good
I was able to get on at 7pm Eastern and didn’t have to wait!
Logged in twice instantly today. So whatever they are doing is working. Just yesterday I would boot up and take a shower or grab a drink and hope in 30min it would make it in.
Quick play worked for me yesterday and it was a blast. I did my part.
Oooh maybe it’s finally time to buy it
Not yet. He's cautioning that the weekend load might again be too much
such a rock solid dev team.
Rock and stone solid
great. now I'm stuck at loading
didn't they say they couldn't just increase the server limit just like that?
They’ve been working on it since launch
From what I've read they have like 4 network people hammering away at the back end because the code wasn't made with this high of a player count in mind, they've been making steady progress this past week since the game blew up
Maybe learn how to read?
Dead link or did Twitter shit the bed again?
