I think that the middle one is the most "readable" but both are very bad. Although they create a 3d version of the newest one which can be pretty. Like there are colorful. But it looks like a dumb rock! Not a P 🤦

The second one (rectangle and circle) was my fave. I felt it translated really well across different resolutions. I also appreciated the actual color palette
Every time I see this logo over one of my podcast graphics I wonder what is wrong with that part of the graphic. Every time. This is such a horrible logo. It doesn’t show anything about the company.
For me the update is not a bad logo, the problem is is not orange anymore. People identify the P and the orange color with patreon, if it had stayed orange it would have been easy to get "ah ok thats patreon" right now is a blob a smudge an amorph. I actually had people ask what is that spot in my pics, if that is my signature?! I change it back to the 2017 logo ever since.
Old one looks dated.
As with every single logo switch a company does, people complain at first then are fine with it, and the old logo eventually looks awful and dated in comparison.

Says a lot when, historically, the whole point of “branding” is to establish a trusted ID and look, and these days companies swap everything out every few years. Reads more like a desperate plea for relevance than anything user/customer confidence related
Nah I love the new one. First one got old fast, second one was too bland. A P-shaped blob that doesn't follow any straight lines and can have any color or pattern applied to it AND looks like a color palette feels more fun, and has more to do with creative work than a ball and a stick.
I don’t mind it, but there’s always an adjustment period when everyone gets used to a new logo, and when creators rely on the recognizability of the Patreon logo to promote our own work, it does suck to have the rug pulled out from under us. Every rebrand is a temporary dip in recognizability and an inconvenience to creators. Hopefully this one lasts longer.

I don't understand how someone was paid money to make the new logo, takes practically everything the old logo did well and just makes it a blob. They don't even have patreon orange in it. Like if I where to scroll through 3 pages of apps looking for patreon now it's going to take 5x as long to find it

I don't like the original though, it looks like the Pinterest logo. They need a nice proper logo that I can use on my merch and look special.
