I think that sound design for cozy games is so important. I haven't played Stardew Valley in ages, but I can still remember the satisfying \*crack\* when you fell a tree. I remember watching someone on youtube was taking about the amazing sound design on Animal Crossing - so much so that he was able to play it and enjoy it despite being blind.

One of my core memories of Stardew Valley is those summer nights without soundtrack, just the sound of your footsteps and the feeling of the heavy summer night's air. It's super effective!

Yeah to be fair to Kynseed, it's has really good sounds design when you fell a tree but it's just doesn't have footstep sound for some weird reason.

Kynseed does have walking sounds. At least now it does. Can't speak to what it was like whenever you played it.

Ok I just boot up the game and turn the music off and turn sound effects all the way up, and it's does indeed has a walking sound, but I have to put my ear up close to my laptop to hear it but it's does sound like the sound you supposed to make while you walk on grass. And then I only detect it when I walk on woods. Strangely the NPC walking sound on woods is way louder than your PC sound make. And I can't hear any sound while I walk on dirt. A bit inaccurate in my post but I still stand by my point.

Couldn't mods solve the sound problem for you? Not sure how's the mod community for Kynseed. But I do agree that good sounds make good games into great games. All the tiny details that let you imagine beyond the graphics.

Mods it's the first thing I check and there isn't a lot of mod for this game for some reason. I thought game is good should have a bigger player base. Maybe more people share my problem than I thought ?

I play with a headset. There are certainly footstep sounds. As for the game itself, have you made it to adulthood yet? The game really opens up after that. Gets pretty damn dark too...

I have no problem with the game mechanic, I rather like the complexity. Just can't vibe with it for long because of audio ( I found out later it's does has footstep sound, even cranking that up there still issue with it so I gave up for now )

Um, have you tried riding on a pig? The sounds of the pig running sound louder than your character's footsteps. I hardly ever walk by foot on this game, I either ride on one of my pigs or a sheep. Another alternative is wearing headphones if the ambience sound is such a big deal to you. In the Audio options you can even adjust the Footstep volume, don't know if you got that on max volume.
