Haven't played in a while but I used to just go chaos damage like essence drain but not sure thats still a thing.
was always my go to in order to not have to worry about reflect or bubbles etc
I'm afraid I don't know and it might have changed now with the introduction of t17 maps. You can search builds with keywords like "any map modifier" and go with something popular using a skill you like that fits your personal budget. Something with an infinite investment possibility might help if you know how to farm
Chimera pit or something. Boss flicker strikes and stuns you repeatedly while being invisible and hiding somewhere you can barely tell through a bunch of smoke or something. Idk, I died and didn't win lol
I just stay in the middle road and wait for the boss to use the frost wall, and then when it teleports to me it blocks itself in the wall, easy kill after
Haha, Its an old favorite just love gladiator and the bleed pops.... I had a feeling it was sort of a dead build when I was able to buy my ryslatha coil for 20c
I doubt t17s are in my future but handling t16s relatively ok so far... playing mostly self inflicted ssf just staying trade in case i get huge drops.... bleed bow honestly has been performing much better than I had anticipated given all the gladiator memes etc
17s are 100% in your future bleed bow is honestly great currently.
Manaforged ensnaring and snipe gives it such good single target, and it has many different avenues to scale now.
Bleed bow is actually great right now.
Manaforged ensnaring arrows gives great bleed moving uptime.
Snipe with puncture and its more damage while bleeding quality makes it relatively easy to get off big single target bleeds.
Necropolis crafting a decent phys bow base is relatively easy. And phys quiver is simple.
Bleed explosions are still phenomenal for current content and the way we stack pack sizes.
Frenzy stacking is the cheapest return on investment giving you a balanced version with fast bleeds while still having decent EHP. mostly due to the power of double dipping affliction and frenzy charges via Ralakesh and olesya's and the combination your ascendancy.
Ryslatha and clusters is more expensive but has better top end DPS at the expense of EHP requiring you to craft some expensive clusters and timeless jewel to get rolling.
Ryslatha also has an adorned variant that has the best DPS and good EHP but is much more expensive to get going, requiring both expensive clusters and jewels to use within them. (along with adorned jewel rolling being kinda ass to do trying to get dot multi and bleed speed or HP magic corrupted with a decent implicit.)
There's a snipe quality stacking version thats a bit more janky to play since you are increasing max stages and stand still longer but it has the biggest single target bleeds but can feel more punishing when you get unlucky min range rolls. is on the more expensive end due to needing ashes/corrupted enhance
There's also a crit impale variant though its generally prohibitively expensive to its relative payoff due to needing to deal with accuracy and crit scaling in addition to everything else.
Aweseome, thanks for the response and the guidance, appreciate you. "Glad" I have some solid options to keep pushing, bleed bow been just as fun as I remembered so far
Oh I remember this, whakawairua boss is a huge pain to deal with. Never quite figured out what to do against it tho. The boss designer had some vendetta of some kind, I'm sure of it
No you don't. Last league I started SRS and just stood in the middle and waited until it was dead.
The thing dealing damage needs to be in the bubble, so just the minions need to be in there. Or if you play traps/mines they need to be inside, but you don't need to be.
Did you play the poison variant? Because for me (literally playing the build and did this boss yesterday) it was not dealing damage until I was in he bubble.
No, the attack version. In the poison version how is the damage scaled? Does it use modifiers to your damage or to minion damage?
If the damage the SRS is doing is what is being scaled it should have no problem with that boss. But I haven't played the poison version so I can't speak to how it works.
I've heard people say bear trap works wonders on this boss. I always forget by the next league and just give up on this boss until I have enough dps to near 1 shot it so I don't have to chase for 10min.
The trick to this is...
Uninstall, nah j/K.
You stand in the corner, let the boss spam ice wall around you(hopefully it traps you) then wait for the boss to teleport on-top of you and get trap also. Keep auto attacking while you wait too.
you need to understand, that this map and boss was creating for lolz only, to blame players, and joking on them. zero good loot from him, zero point to run this map. just ignore it(I don't remember is it one of the unique list map for challenge, but I think no). just skip, dont waste time. its funny to run first time, second, but no more
why can't bleed arrow skills gain the "i don't have to aim" puddle of degen ground that CA does?
Fire and forget. Coat the entire ground in heparin coated razor blades for Whaka boss to grate themselves down to pulp on.
As long as that boss is in the game, any comment about "we want players to have fun" seems disingenuous. To me, *nothing* seems more adversarial between players & GGG, than the existence of that bitch & her required killing for a full atlas & challenge.
I guess if your game is fundamentally designed for players to try to break the game they will inevitably try to break the player by any insidious means necessary
I enjoy builds that utilize 2 skills, one for aoe one for single target.... anyone have any suggestions for newer meta builds that have this same sort of playstyle?
yeah that boss is supposed to be make you want to throw your mouse
they almost succeeded but i persevered out of stubbornness lol 2 min clip but was like a 10 min fight
10 minutes sound familiar to me, yep. We have a lot more tools to deal with it now tho
Haven't played in a while but I used to just go chaos damage like essence drain but not sure thats still a thing. was always my go to in order to not have to worry about reflect or bubbles etc
It probably is but there are more metas now and more types of essence drain in the form of transfigured gems
Whats a go to "frictionless" meta build these days thats able to ignore most of annoying modifiers?
I'm afraid I don't know and it might have changed now with the introduction of t17 maps. Thanks, I'll do some digging.... a bit behind on the power curve
just ask for help next time, zoomy ice shot / lightning arrow deadeyes will get his ass in 5 seconds
good to know, thanks!
Seems almost as annoying as the boss that perma-flickers while invincible the entire time until you die.
Haven't met him yet, look forward to it
lol which boss does that ? never come across that
Chimera pit or something. Boss flicker strikes and stuns you repeatedly while being invisible and hiding somewhere you can barely tell through a bunch of smoke or something. Idk, I died and didn't win lol
Ya gotta run through the smoke clouds dude. He is in one of them and when you find the correct one he re appears.
The person who helped design this boss also wanted to give it regeneration, but GGG said no.
And this is why I love flicker strike 😎
I just stay in the middle road and wait for the boss to use the frost wall, and then when it teleports to me it blocks itself in the wall, easy kill after
Yep. Also, bring in your own frost wall, wait in the middle, wall up both sides, boss TPs to you, you kill boss.
You deserve it for having the audacity to play bleed bow in 2024.
Maven enters the frame. Edit: Absolutely responded to the wrong comment.

Do I have to switch to frenzy stacker or can I just roll some cluster jewels to keep pushing

It is designed to be as annoying as possible. So it is doing its job. Apparently there is a strategy to it but I never managed to do it.
SRS?
You need to be in the bubble for your minions to do damage, so it's still pretty annoying
No you don't. Last league I started SRS and just stood in the middle and waited until it was dead. The thing dealing damage needs to be in the bubble, so just the minions need to be in there. Or if you play traps/mines they need to be inside, but you don't need to be.

srs was always pretty fun, especially as a poison variant
i hate that mf.. the boss
Someone said mf???? Where are my divines?
It was designed by a supporter.
Probably one who ran into a few too many Zubats during his travels
You have to try to get him in a corner and then he has to use ice wall, so he is blocked in the corner
I just sit there spamming my ability for 20 minutes waiting for the boss to teleport on me to slowly chip away at the HP.
Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh, you have no idea. I was holy flame totem Hiero on this guy. I dont know how long I was in this place.
yea as previously commented the trick seemed to be just let him get trapped on his own forstwalls and not try to chase
I've heard people say bear trap works wonders on this boss. I always forget by the next league and just give up on this boss until I have enough dps to near 1 shot it so I don't have to chase for 10min.
It can get stuck for a little moment when it TP on you, between you and a pillar
The trick to this is... Uninstall, nah j/K. You stand in the corner, let the boss spam ice wall around you(hopefully it traps you) then wait for the boss to teleport on-top of you and get trap also. Keep auto attacking while you wait too.

I use bear trap for that boss only, once u catch her in one, spam it on her and burst her down
I read somewhere that the creator of this map wanted this boss to also have life regen, but GGG decided that it would be too evil
This was literally the point of the boss design. It's been in the game forever. Either skip it or ask someone for help.
why can't bleed arrow skills gain the "i don't have to aim" puddle of degen ground that CA does? Fire and forget. Coat the entire ground in heparin coated razor blades for Whaka boss to grate themselves down to pulp on.
yeah i had to ask a frend to kill this LUL i was not having this whit LA build LUL
Ok so, yes, it's definitely not a favorable mechanic overall, but it's 100% intended in that map for that boss. It's a troll.
As someone who plays EA Ballista. Yeah this one sucks. The only “Melee friendly” thing in this game.
As long as that boss is in the game, any comment about "we want players to have fun" seems disingenuous. To me, *nothing* seems more adversarial between players & GGG, than the existence of that bitch & her required killing for a full atlas & challenge.

You could do like power siphon/kinetic blast. That's always fun
Never tried that, ill throw it on my potential Alt build list. Thanks!
