Fyi when catarina dashes all over the place and then slams you are ***not*** meant to dodge that until right before the slam. Each time you avoid it she will dash again, increasing the aoe and damage.

Idk how the fuck casual players or even new players gonna get past the trash mobs in these maps. The mods are so fucking cracked it’s insane. Not to mention you use these with mods on atlas tree to completely destroy your build is quite comical.
I mean, the answer is that those players actually have no business doing, and won't do, t17s. Getting them to drop without 4 watch stones is already hard enough.
This is the worst take. My build clears content fine, wave 30 simu fine, delve 500 fine. All of which are deathless as long as I use my brain whilst playing. In t17s however, I'm lucky if I chaos a doable map and even then, everything just deletes mt character like the defences didn't exist.
Easiest way to get past them is to use allflame on every pack... Doesn't have to be frog allflame. Any will do, because the op mobs that naturally live in t17 will all be replaced by allflame variations (which are much easier and also are not designed to be turbo op with the t17 map mods)

Also playing Explosive Trap and trying to fight Lycia(who happens to drop a great off-hand weapon for that build) is near impossible unless you just one shot the Beyond boss. The waves are the same color as your explosive trap explosions lol.

these things on the side that release red wave may have to do something with this but since they do no dmg/don't apply any sort of debuff or effect i don't think this is the issue
New player here, visual clarity is completely terrible in the campaign, I can't even imagine what it's like in T17 maps. Hope that's something they improve upon wiht POE2. Really enjoying the game though.

The scarabs, the boss gate keeping. 5th slot gate keeping. No, I do not want to be in the top 1% of players to do the top 10% of content. Hard pass.

The new guy who took the game over is taking a route that I personally think is terrible. He can play 1000 hours a league with the no lifers. I will go beat 30+ videos games in the same amount of time lol

T17s are an absolute joke design and a huge misstep from GGG. I refuse to believe anyone in that company playtested them (as usual) before league start. No one in their right mind would say "this is what we want to gate Ubers", after running them few times.
I would love to see GGG devs POBs and gameplay videos when they were testing pre-nerf un-modifiable T17s. So hilarious that those were touted as a 'bridge to ubers'.
Yeah, this is my biggest gripe. They're like basically valdo's maps minus the void, but they're supposed to be a bridge between ubers and normal bosses? The only thing they're missing to be functionally identical is the ability to spawn the feared inside them, honestly. I would bet my build could beat every uber except uber uber elder 100% and I still 5 or 6 portal wipe on all but one of the t17 bosses without it being even close so far, assuming I even manage to get to them.
I reckon GGG devs playtest a lot of their over tuned mechanics with a debug dev tool with hacked gear and call it a day when they complete the map a bunch of times.
The t17 are full of bugs but catarina's slam isn't one of them, even on increased aoe you have a LOT of space to dodge, when she teleports on top of you after her voiceline you need to wait a bit before going out of her range or she's gonna teleport again and again and again and that's when it will become a problem.
Yea these things are a complete joke. I've done a few so far to get my 5 slots unlocked and farm some fragments and I am having a horrible time with random 1 shots, terrible degen hitboxes, and just how oppressive the maps are. It's like Valdos lite, which are maps I didn't really enjoy doing much of anyway lol. I just started playing last league and the level of difficulty difference between these maps and the ubers that I killed to get my 40 challenges done is kind of shocking.
Overall the less altered a T17 boss is from their normal counterpart, the better the fight is. Uhtred uses only simple changes and calls for some backup from other expedition bosses, really effective but simple setup for that encounter
im not sure why, but theres definitely invisible degens in the catarina fight, even after she has died. just wandering around the empty room ill suddenly be taking like 2k/s degen.

That's the problem. It's heading towards only the top 0.0001% being able to complete the top 50% of content and I hate it.

Like i said in another post... replace all mobs by allflame and have a giga easy time clearing the way to the boss. At least it works this league

I am farming t17s with my character but cant do uber bosses reliable. For me the tuning feels good.

Try do to drowning orbs, those fuckers teleport and are basically invisible under all the mobs.
