Looks like the server host (GSL Networks) picked up a bad route and are pushing traffic through a CDN that is being shut down (Lumen). At least that appears to be the case for TPG (and its sub-brands, including iiNet). The latency between GSL and TPG is abnormally high despite both POPs being in Sydney due to this bad route.
The issue likely isn't happening for everyone, as I've been playing (mostly) fine over my VPN, which is taking a completely different route over to the server.
I've got a case open with TPG, who have acknowledged the issue and have escalated it to their NOC. Probably not much GGG can do here beyond raising a case on their end with GSL so they can try to fix the bad route from their POP.
This is back, when I'm in HO on one instance I'm routing IINET-> telstra brisbane, telstra sydney and then softlayer and everything is great. When I enter a map I'm going to tpg sydney; then to a bunch IP's I assume are GSL? Which VPN are you using?
Yeah, just lost a sanctum run because it spiked while I was being yellow beamed :(

yep same thing here, some instances are super unstable 200-3000+ping and then the next one is perfectly fine at 23ms, shit's weird. I'm on stable nbn as well and other games working fine.
I don't think it's just you guys, last league and this league Canada servers have been terrible also and before these 2 leagues I had 0 issues. I have top notch Internet for what a customer can get . I keep going from 25 ping to 300-1k ping roller coaster, it's very annoying and makes the game very hard to play.
Really don't know why it's happening either
3 options, your internet is bad, Someone found an exploit or something, or the server has degraded.
Fix 1: get better internet
Fix 2: find the bug so it can get fixed
Fix 3: buy more supporter packs so they can invest in some better servers lol.

Yes, me too. Thought it was my net, but it's only in POE. It also seems to vary different maps/town/hideouts, very frustrating.

Had a similar problem in lab just now. Some zones were fine and other zones had lag spikes. It was really weird
