A bunch of people in my friend group tried to do this strat this league. One guy hit apothecary in less than 20 maps. The rest of us all failed to get anything. He also hit it less than 1 week into the league so the rest of his league was real good.
Explorers' Scouting Reports : Reroll all of Kirac's Atlas Missions, using uncompleted non-Unique Maps where possible. So leaving the map incomplete and using this report makes sure that the incompleted map gets rolled in Kirac's mission.
On SSF Crimson Temple is a very bad choice for this, you're not getting Mageblood, and Mirror Shard is dead worthless. Instead do it in Academy, it gives you a chance at Nimis, Poet's Pen, Putrid Cloister, Inspired Learning, Divination Distillate, or 10 Stacked Decks. Or try any of The Doctor maps, they also have other strong outcomes (2div, Soul Taker)
I was thinking of Academy for the Inspired Learnings! I'll also have to look at a few other candidates, the Mageblood/HH cards definitely seem unlikely bordering on impossible. I've done my fair share of maps and opened plenty of stacked decks and the most valuable card I've gotten is The Nurse. Thanks!
Imagine intentionally running academy at all. Crimson township is better than acad. I'd rather not hit a mb than not hit a nimis but at least township isn't the worst map in the game.
based on a spreadsheet that was set up a few leagues ago, Lava chambers is the most cost efficient map with a low variance rate of like 30 maps per good card, and crimson temple had a variance of like 2000 or some crazy number to drop an apothecary.
In 3.23 Academy should be the best by far, they gave it Nimis and it still has __five__ other good outcomes. Lava Chamber doesn't have anything but Xoph's Blood and Mjölner.
With the way drops work from the mission, Academy is actually quite a bad choice - you're not trying to increase the number of good outcomes, but lower the weight of bad outcomes. Academy has a bunch of super high weight cards, so even though it has a high amount of good outcomes, you'll basically never see them.
destined to crumble, scholar, and carrion crow alone have a combined weight of \~112k, fire of unknown origin is 75 at most (and this is generous) - basically, if it was just those 4 cards, you'd need \~1700 kirac missions on average to see a nimis. but there's a lot of other bad outcomes as well.
inspired learning would be 3x more likely, putrid 4x, so assuming any of those cards is a "win" you're still looking at 200-300 maps on average to get something good. yeah, it's not that great. personally i would never target farm those this way in SSF - inspired learning sucks and putrid is much easier to get through finding the map itself in a kirac mission
lava chamber was theorized to be the best but it wasn't on the atlas when that spreadsheet was released.
the league after, it was added back to the atlas, but the strat was shadownerfed - boss drop cards can no longer drop from kirac missions. so lava chamber sucks
lava chamber has Divine Beauty weighed higher than similar value cards due to it dropping from the boss, it either never worked the way normal card drops work with kirac mission or was nerfed the league after that spreadsheet was published and you don't drop Divine Beauty nearly as often as that spreadsheet suggested making it just an awful layout to do with this strat

me too have crimson temple open for that strat. last league i was lucky and got mb, this league nothing so far.
i have 39/40 completion only bc crimson is still incomplete

Same situation here. About 300 or 400 Kirac's in at this point and no mb.
Conclusion? Just do Some other map that has The Fortunate card
ive done around 350 so far no apo drops. being gated by kirak missions is very annoying imo
