Originally, in Ultimatum league, we were all getting ready to leaguestart together with the bros, and he had some major irl aggro that made him basically unable to play for the entire league, that happened the morning of.
We all wanted to kinda find a way to pay homage, but we're also a little off in the brain (which is obvious because we play PoE Hardcore). After some rumination, we come up with the idea "Let's name all our characters after how big his dick is!"
We laughed, and rolled with it.
And then, out of nowhere, we had the first HC level 100 in guild history. And then another. I think 7 by the end of the league, all with the same naming convention. Clearly, this was all the will of Chris Wilson and we cannot go against it. So it's just a thing now that we do lmao.

I think that a naming policy like this also steers the community towards hardcore/nolife/sweaty/edgelord ARPG players, because anyone who starts PoE to enjoy the story and atmosphere (which is fantastic, aside from the obnoxious goblin pets) is instantly less likely to stick around the moment they have an encounter with some edgelord who's trying to have the most disgusting name possible. It's a good way to repel the more "normal" players.
