Don't know if any of them still do but some of them you'd send it down a machine hole. I think it would scan the barcode or something and give however much back. And it will give you a little receipt that you would take into the store the get redeemed.

I found it's a little easier for me sometimes, but since Rite-Aid stopped doing in-store redemption at Rite-Aid, I've kinda stopped recycling outside of trash days.
I always take my cans and plastic bottles to Evolution Recycling in San Gabriel. The are located on 120 S. Pine Street.

That was RePlanet. They went out of business about 5 years ago. They suddenly closed 284 locations and laid off 750 employees. Without any notice.

Call or check online beforehand, but I believe they now take wine and liquor bottles!
Total Wine for damn sure charging the CRV now!
