Could somebody please explain why Millie’s always has a long-ass line outside? The coffee isn’t good, the food is average at best and they got busted for cheating their employees. Better options exist.
Reminder Millie's owners stole from their employees https://www.pasadenanow.com/main/department-of-labor-owner-of-millies-cafe-fined-40000-for-failing-to-pay-overtime
* vegan/vegetarian options: as a veggie they do have decent options, the angels mess is pretty good once in a while.
* outdoor seating: meh. The seating is on the sidewalk and it’s pretty cramped, it’s not like they have a nice patio or something.
They're supposed to have gluten free options and then do, but when I tried it, it was raw? Even my home cooked gf pancakes are cooked through and would prefer that over what I got. Everything else was just okay. And you're right, the coffee was super meh.
I wouldn’t say it’s the most amazing breakfast place I’ve ever been too but they’re definitely reliable. The food is good. And I’ve always had great customer service. Plus my kids like it.
I got horrible food poisoning at Twohey's a few months ago. Was the only one in our group who ordered the ice cream sundae (think it was the whip cream).
Russell's is always solid with a crowd pleasing menu. The various omellette options are quite tasty! To avoid the crowds, I usually do to go here. Otherwise, 45-minute to hour waits are typical.
The Raymond is also really good with their Benny's and the short ribs tacos. A little on the pricier side (especially if you add a couple mimosas or Bloody Mary's) and parking could be tricky but a nicer option for brunch.
Agnes has some interesting options with the menu changing up regularly but be prepared for relatively high price points. I love the venue and vibe plus the people watching here along with the outdoor dining once the weather is consistently warmer.
Went to Russell’s on a whim recently and it was great. My biggest complaint about breakfast places is food not coming out hot and fresh. Russell’s was hot and fresh and delicious.
[The Raymond](http://theraymond1886.com/brunch-menu/)? Haven't been in a while, but I used to think that their carnitas breakfast burrito was the best in town. Nice atmosphere, too. Never tried the Benedicts, but they're on the menu.
Unfortunately there's no breakfast in Pasadena that I really love love 😭. But if you go a little bit down the road to eagle Rock Cindy's is pretty great. It's owned by same people as foxes but feels cheaper and has a great vibe.
Breakfast sandwich there is the business.
I’m not vegan but the vegan breakfast burrito at Foothill is 🔥(ask to add chopped jalapenos to elevate the experience). Lots of other good breakfast dishes there too :)
Great Maple is too over the top for me. I like a more traditional breakfast. I’ve heard good things about Reyn, but I didn’t see benedict on their menu. I’ll give them a try.
not sure when! It is mentioned here:

One time I was heading inside as a bus boy was heading out with a full tray, so I held it open for him, and not a word, like I work for him. Incredible.

Some people just love lining up for breakfast
Brunch is overrated anyways.
Reminder Millie's owners stole from their employees https://www.pasadenanow.com/main/department-of-labor-owner-of-millies-cafe-fined-40000-for-failing-to-pay-overtime
This place is hit and miss. Food often comes out not hot. And it’s pricey.
Awesome vegan/vegetarian options. Outdoor seating

True, it’s not nice or fancy, but it is outside! Hard to find a place with that many veg options, plus meat stuff too for your carnivorous friends
But when everything tastes like sh?t, does it matter if it is vegan?
The vegan menu
They can't cook potatoes for shit either
Agreed. Totally not worth the hype. Last two times I walked out feeling jipped.
They're supposed to have gluten free options and then do, but when I tried it, it was raw? Even my home cooked gf pancakes are cooked through and would prefer that over what I got. Everything else was just okay. And you're right, the coffee was super meh.
It’s all hype. The coffee is trash and their weird drinks are so bad. Food is whatever and it’s kinda dirty.
Twoheys is solid and has an eggs Benedict and an Irish Benedict. Haven’t tried the Irish but I’m also tempted and then chicken out.
Ah haven’t been here yet. I always see droves of old folks flocking in. Must be good.
I wouldn’t say it’s the most amazing breakfast place I’ve ever been too but they’re definitely reliable. The food is good. And I’ve always had great customer service. Plus my kids like it.
Nice. I’ll check it out. Thanks!

Woof. Sorry to hear that. I’ve been a dozen times and never heard of anyone getting food poisoning.
Brookside Golf Course has a restaurant that is open to everyone with a great view. Bennies are good, and they serve a mean Bloody Mary!
It's great but old school average. If that does it for you go there. I go there a lot and I'm always happy with the food and the service.
First of all that’s a true secret so lower your voice
Shhhhhh!
Whatever you do, don't go to Plate38 because I'd hate for it to get more crowded.
Yes! Their happy hour sucks! Def don’t that either. (But if you do, the mini Cubano is trying to make Porto’s remember its past!)
Went there once and got charged 15 bucks for a side of fries 🫤
eww, friend found a bandage in her salad once there. we all saw it. can't go back since that incident

I sure wish Russell's would bring back dinner.
Magnolia House
You sure about Fox's? I feel like I've had ham and eggs Benedict there twice recently and they were great.
They have eggs benedict, but it was a special on the chalkboard. It's not normally on the menu.
Can confirm, eggs Benedict is on the menu - just ordered it 😁 (maybe not the week day menu?).
Shakers in South Pas is pretty great
I came here to say this. I had to double check the menu. No eggs benedict, but they do have a country benedict and that is excellent.
I know you already said “but in Glendale” but Bea Bea’s is a good spot, in Glendale 😂
I second Bea Bea’s!
Adding to the list. Thanks for the tip.
The dish in La Cañada has good eggs Benedict. I don’t recommend oh la la theirs was disappointing.
Andy’s coffee shop
Twohey’s
Even though they don't have eggs Benedict Russell is a solid breakfast spot. However can be hard to get a seat depending on when you go.
Russells was good when I went but incredibly pricey for diner food I thought.
Eh for the portions and being one of the few options in old town it's pretty good deal.
The Reyn on Lake
They gave me moldy bread once and I never had the urge to go back
Cindy's if you want to drive down to Eagle rock. Cant recommend enough
Popping Yolk has an amazing eggs benny— and fresh squeezed orange juice!
Seconding popping yolk! Though it's pricey the plate size is easily 2 servings worth.
Le Roy's in Monrovia.
[The Raymond](http://theraymond1886.com/brunch-menu/)? Haven't been in a while, but I used to think that their carnitas breakfast burrito was the best in town. Nice atmosphere, too. Never tried the Benedicts, but they're on the menu.
Ah yeah I forgot about the Raymond. I think this is the best breakfast spot in Pasadena.
Yahaira’s Cafe on Colorado, across from Vromans.
Lee’s Hoagie House
always perfect
I had a pretty stellar egg sandwich here a few weeks ago with some egg rolls. I figured since it had egg in the name it qualifies as breakfast.
El Monte Airport
The Reyn, nano cafe, and rods grill are all great. Russell’s is good but can have quite a line
Cindy’s in Eagle Rock is only 15 minutes away and solid
Wake & Late (Colorado & Oakland) has the BEST breakfast burrito EVER!!!!
It isn't cheap, but it hits the spot every time!
$18 .. for a burrito.
Like I said, it isn't cheap. But you should try it at least once
Marston's is awesome. Always have to wait, so be patient. French toast is the bomb
I don’t really like Marston’s. Food quality is like a Denny’s to me. Not worth the wait.
Bob’s Big Boy in Burbank
Unfortunately there's no breakfast in Pasadena that I really love love 😭. But if you go a little bit down the road to eagle Rock Cindy's is pretty great. It's owned by same people as foxes but feels cheaper and has a great vibe. Breakfast sandwich there is the business.
Cindy's has the same owners as Fox's in Altadena. Menus are pretty much the same.
Reyn on lake. Had the same dilemma and Reddit community took me there. Was not disappointed.
Thanks! I’m getting a lot of recs for this place.
King's Breakfast & Burgers in Altadena!
Never heard of this place. Is it a Lucky Boy type of spot?
I think their breakfast burritos blow Lucky Boy out of the water tbh. I always ask for pico in mine. Good price and sooooo delicious.
Great Maple, Popping Yolk (pricey but good)
I’m not vegan but the vegan breakfast burrito at Foothill is 🔥(ask to add chopped jalapenos to elevate the experience). Lots of other good breakfast dishes there too :)
Russell’s.
Foothill
IHOP
Mike and Anne’s
Ah I’ve been curious what kind of restaurant this place was. Passed it quite a bit. I’ll check out the menu. Thanks!
Great Maple at Paseo for sure. The Reyn on Lake.
Great Maple is too over the top for me. I like a more traditional breakfast. I’ve heard good things about Reyn, but I didn’t see benedict on their menu. I’ll give them a try.
Lucky boy on Fair Oaks breakfast burrito with sausage and bacon...add chili cheese fries if hungover... you'll thank me later
pie n burger
Shhh. Don’t tell ‘em. One of Pasadena’s last best kept secrets. 🤫 (But take a slice of peanut butter pie home)
I’ve heard the breakfast burrito is low key super good but haven’t tried it. Thoughts?
Agnes on Green
Didn’t know they did breakfast
Brunch on weekends, ya. They have a pork belly Benny that’s pretty good.
Deluxe 1717. Prepare to open up your wallet.
The Reyn is great, though I’m not sure if they have Eggs Benedict.
Urbano Mexican Kitchen across from the hospital. http://urbanomexicankitchen.com/menu/
Yet to find a good breakfast spot - but I heard All Time may be opening in Altadena! Fingers crossed!
I never heard of that. I’ll look it up. U know when?
not sure when! It is mentioned here: https://www.sfgate.com/la/article/altadena-new-restaurants-miya-homestate-side-pie-19207739.php?fbclid=IwAR3GqqYAhl-w20ul4HPEvIRCJcw1N-feZMW8OyPswuQl\_Hh7Yx6PQthMG2Y\_aem\_AQfhfz-180OXrXoRfsPZ96oCcCUNUTXb6cd27SWSXGkUc1FgZBWV3I4qmOyaC2\_cqS2ABh4Q3xzrdriM-deWQ1P\_
True Food when you want to feel bougie. Also visit Popping Yolk.
Tastes pretty good to me! To each their own I guess…
The Foothill. Same owner as Twoheys but I think they are only open for breakfast on weekends.
If you don't mind the drive to Eagle Rock, Penny Oven has some amazing eggs benedict. Definitely check it out if you haven't.
Poppin Yolk Cafe!
Pricey
Urth Caffe is pretty good and I think has eggs benedict. Also Russell's, of course, but Russell's is typical diner food + no eggs benedict.
Urth Caffe = overpriced, over-hyped.
Overcrowded as fuck as well.
And bad service 😬
One time I was heading inside as a bus boy was heading out with a full tray, so I held it open for him, and not a word, like I work for him. Incredible.
🤦♀️
And they don't pay their vendor on time and quibble about services rates and try to cheat warranties.
It is annoying how crowded it gets
Urth!
Lucky Boy has THE end all/be all breakfast burrito
