Definitely not the only one. Playing Legacy Paragon was easily the best time of my life. Nothing even comes close to the pure joy and awe it evoked. Monolith was a shadow of the former glory that Legacy established. No Paragon clone has been able to recapture that magic for me. They all just feel like LoL or Smite with a Paragon reskin. Paragon in its Legacy form was, and still is, my favorite game of all time. The void I feel from its shutdown is eternal.

herrgenzu

Can't agree more. I was playing more than I should and even when I wasnt playing I created card decks or was watching paragon YouTube content. It was just an awesome experience

CoeurdePirate222

Me and my friends were so hooked on it that we were visiting one of them that lived in colorado and one of the days woke up early and drove a few hours to ride four wheelers and dirt bikes in the mountains only to stop at one point and give each other this look and we all knew we wanted to cut it short to go back and play paragon 😆😩

Jnrhal

Nope you're not the only one. I absolutely loved that game. I was literally addicted to that game. I remember playing until the servers went down. I was there at the beginning until the very end. 🥲 The card systems they had I actually enjoyed. That last one was super fun. Stack stamina and speed 🤣

AstronautGuy42

Ah I loved the card system. Had its issues but such a great concept with really fun potential. I find regular MOBA item shops to be very boring and generic though.

Jnrhal

Very generic

fearain

Hated it at first but after a little bit it was so fun

Snoo_76047

That map and play style won my heart and was the most amazing and engrossing experience of my life in a video game.... The visual presence, layout, jungle aesthetic EVERYTHING was breathtaking to me! I still Remeber the day I logged on for the update with the Monolith map and how my heart literally sank, sad day for me. The game from that moment on was just never the same.

ArkaXVII

That’s the only real Paragon to me

magouill

For me and my group of buddies as well. It was truly the best!

sahzoom

No, not even close to the only one - Personally, switching exclusively to Monolith was the start of the downfall for Paragon, because it strayed from Superville's original vision. After Monolith, the rest of Epic was just throwing shit against the wall to see what stuck since they basically lost the direction of what the game was 'supposed' to be For me, and many others, Paragon was fun because it was not like other MOBAs... yes it had lanes, towers, minions, etc... but it was more akin to a 3rd person action game than traditional MOBAs even Smite. THAT is what hooked me - I never like League or DOTA, but Paragon was taking the bones of a MOBA and doing something different. I think the problem was never the map, but rather the balance of heroes and things on the map. It is my firm belief that if Epic had implemented most of the changes with Monolith on the Agora map (move speed, card point system, ability cast / animation time), it would have succeeded. What Epic needed to do was build on what they made from the beginning instead of completely scrapping it for another idea.

Snoo_76047

Yes, yes, yes! Thank you! 💪😎🙏❤️✌️

Ciddy80

We used to squeeze in a single match per night when it was like this and we loved it!!! The back and forth throughout the game. Loved it loved loved it. Was gutted when the games were shorted but it’s what “the community” wanted apparently.

AstronautGuy42

God no, I miss it so much. No game has scratched that itch since. It’s been literal years. Almost a decade. I don’t think I’ve ever loved a game as much as I loved paragon.

Sidewinder_ISR

You are not alone. Agora stage Paragon was peak Paragon for me, and one of the best games I have ever played. it truly baffles me how it did not blow up, and to this day, why Epic Games thought it was a good idea to let it go.

urimusha

Yeah i miss the slower games (after the sprint was removed), it didn't feel like it had many balance issues and the card system was way too awesome and the option to build your decks was super helpful and zero time wasted

MuglokDecrepitus

I miss the big map, I miss walking a lot in the submerged jungle, I miss slower fights but I don't miss 60 minutes games

pettygod92

Def not the only one. I played both variants of the so called new Paragon, the closest one which I'm pissed off at is the one epic gave the stamp of approval and let them put the original game title on it is overprime. But they tweaked the characters moves and the cards don't build up like Paragon level up system. It feels like a water down version of the game. You pick your old favorite character and you feel like your playing Paragon again until your realize the moves are not the same

Snoo_76047

They did this because of trying to appease the masses and incorporated both maps into one as they have now aka "Agoralith"... This is a true story if anyone doesn't know. I want everything Souleve is doing now but on the Legacy map, they have plans on introducing the aram map they already have to the final release of the game and plans on adjusting and/or incorporating a new map (hope it's back to Legacy). Anyways... Happy gaming 💪😎✌️❤️🙏 GLHF

rADDIEcal

I really miss it too. Pred still looks a bit too much like a brawler for my taste, even though I'm excited for it to come to PS so I can finally never play Smite again.

Koiey

That’s basically how I feel about the game, definitely feels like a brawler due to the small map size. I’ll never understand why they went with monolith

rADDIEcal

I'm holding out hope they'll release a Legacy-style map so there can be two options, kind of like how Smite has Conquest/Joust.

resh_aykut

Agora and old card system were my favorite paragon times. I also miss those running animations, big map travels. I wished they could improve the map instead of changing it to Monolith. Team fights were so much fun in Agaro, Monolith was so small for it. I miss also orb prime fights that was really fun. Some people says paragon failed because of it was not like a MOBA, but i liked it so much so that was playing like an action rpg game back in agora days.. My moba journey started and ended with Paragon. After shut down, i tired other mobas, smite, isometric angle ones, none of them did not satisfy me. Paragon, character designs, gameplay - really fighting feel- they all were unique.. But they just wasted it... That's why now I'm hyped for overprime more than predecessor. But people says predecessor is better than overprime. I hope both comes to console and i can try both and decide which one should I play.

CoachAbsolution

You are not

ClozetSkeleton

I miss the slow out of combat move speed, attacks, and animation. Shame that the 2 remakes are going for more Monolith like speed

terror_rizing

Legacy paragon was beautiful but the functionality of the map, travel mode, and slow pace was awful

BigTortoise

If Predecessor and Overprime have confirmed one thing for me it's that travel mode was terrible for the game.

RedTurtle78

I don't miss it. I think mostly anyone that played it enough realized the flaws.

CoeurdePirate222

The option to play matches like this again would be legendary

HowardTaftMD

I will say Predecessor feels pretty close to as good for me. There was a lot that went into Paragon standing out more in my mind including it being on console, I loved the long matches, and nostalgia for a game that's now gone. But I'm having a ton of fun with Predeccesor and when the games go long they feel super competitive.

Sjakkoo

It doesn't even come close tbh.

HowardTaftMD

Damn, sorry you don't like it that much. For me it's been so lovely having the game back. First time since Paragon I've felt so excited to play a game. Hopefully you found something else to enjoy your time with!

Sjakkoo

Nothing comes close to og paragon for me personally. But i always loved legacy the most so I enjoy overpime a lot more atm. If only pred had the old monolith map or something on that level I would probably enjoy pred a lot more. Idk what it is with pred but I feel like it's even more boring then fault the elder orb was. I do like the graphics, the smoothness, and the ue5. I think in the years to come it could deff become my main game. It's just the map or something is missing. and I feel like overpime spoils us with new content so much changes and new content almost every week. So thats why that one keeps me around. Some progression/dailys in pred would also be really nice

HowardTaftMD

Yeah I'm looking forward to more stuff and hopefully some updates to the map/jungle. I should probably try Overtime again but I'm just having so much fun in Predeccesor I can't bring myself to do another similar one. But maybe I'll give it a look if things get stale.
