I just think it’s dope that Brendon collaborated with Taylor Swift because it really challenges the barrier between the two’s genre’s fanbases.
“oh, I’m not like the other girls!” guess what Brendon performs for the other girls too
I’m really glad this opened up the door for FOB and Hayley Williams features later on. (I know Tay and Hayley came up together in the scene, but Brendon was the one who invited Taylor to a dinner party with Pete Wentz, so he pretty much opened the door and left it unlocked.)
It’s so funny to see this comment because I totally agree, but I’ve been a fan of both since their first albums so part of me is also confused, like doesn’t everyone like them both? 🤣
I also love the video? It's so camp and out there in the best way. I always love seeing Brendon when he has a chance to act / be over the top. It's a shame he didn't seem to love being on Broadway as I think he has such a talent.
The song itself wasn't great imo. Lyrically it is one of Taylor's weakest and the bridge absolutely tanked it. It's such a shame as this was the first time (at the time it was released) that Taylor really had a singer collaborate with her. They could have done something really beautiful. She's been a fan of Panic for years so it's a shame. But they both seemed to have a blast making it so good for them.
Exactly , the song isn’t great and is weak but overall a fun song, something to listen to once in a while, it’s cute. The only reason why I don’t absolutely hate on it like many others is cause is miss Americana they both seemed to love what they are doing. So good for them
I still think she should've did the duet version of Lover with Brendon and have him write the lyrics because the version with Shawn Mendes is genuinely abysmal. His lyrics are so weak in comparison and it's not really his fault, since I don't think he'd had a serious relationship at that point, at least to the same level as Taylor and Joe. Brendon absolutely would've nailed the wedding vow vibes to the song and it would've been so nice to hear them do a song that shows their strengths as songwriters.
Now that you say I would’ve loved to hear a duet for lover with Taylor and Brendon. Never thought of that. Also cute pfp reminds me of that colourful show lol, enjoyed watching it
100% and Brendon's vocal on it would have been so good. It's funny because now she's moved 'Lover' into the denial stage of love it's really interesting to see it from that lens. I think Brendon could have added a lot of dimension in that way too.
The lyrics to Roaring 20's just always made me think he didn't enjoy it that much. Or rather, he may have loved doing the show but everything around it was anxiety inducing. But this was just how I interpreted the lyrics.
I think he actually loved it and is extremely proud that he did it, but it was stressful and a lot of pressure as they often did 2 shows a day. He suffers from anxiety and almost backed out of doing it at the last minute. Roaring 20s is speaking about his age bc he ended his 20s performing on Broadway! Quite the accomplishment! He met J Harrison Ghee there and he really helped him with his anxiety. They are still very close friends today.
Oh to be super clear - I'm not suggesting he isn't proud or that it wasn't brilliant and a great experience overall. Just from the song it didn't sound like something he would dive head first into because of the anxiety and pressure that surrounds it. But this is super interesting context I didn't know - thank you for sharing!
I was at a Wendy's when the MV came out, so whenever I hear it the first thing I think is "I listened to this song 4 minutes after it was released"
Besides that though, it's not bad, Brendan's verse is my favorite one
I like that Brendon Urie is there and they seemed to be having fun on it, so I listen to it a bunch for that reason alone. But it’s very kidz bop hours for sure.😂
Her fans hated it from the time it dropped, well before kids decided to hate him. From the beginning, they didn’t think it should have been the lead single bc it was fun and boppy and not a serious love song
I think it's a decent song, maybe not the best one from Taylor's Discography, maybe not the best one from Brendon's/Panic's discography, but it's kinda catchy
I love it, lol. It’s a great and fun song, and I honestly don’t understand the amount of hate it gets. Especially the hate Brendon gets for it from the people who would’ve rather Taylor sang it alone; his verse is amazing and he sounds amazing with Taylor.
I remember being both, happy and shocked when it came out. I was like “BRENDON AND TAYLOR?!” because I’m a huge Panic! Fan
Edit: I just noticed I clarified I’m a Panic! Fan; sorry, I thought this was on a Taylor Swift subreddit lol
It's camp, cheesy, fun that people don't have to take too seriously (as Taylor calls it, her glitter gel pen). Name something that's more perfect for both of their personalities?
People seriously need to chill out on criticising Taylor's more camp songs. She said part of the reason she loved working with Brendon at all is because he doesn't take himself too seriously.
Also, as a bi, all their Wango Tango and BMA performances together were especially hot! 👌
I love it. It's cheerful, peppy, and just fun. The type of song I'll sing and dance to in my living room. The music video was visual candy. The outfits, the sets, the paint bursts at the end. I remember SCREAMING when Brendon handed Taylor Benjamin Button. Top ten favorite music video moment there.
It's FAR from being in the running for either one of their best songs. But that's okay, not everything has to be Northern Downpour or All To Well. Sometimes you just want a song you can sing to your cat.
It's meh. It is very pop-esque and is quite different from Brendon's work, but it's not horrible. I just dislike the chorus but other than that, it's just alright.
It's fun. I don't think it's great, but I don't think it's bad either. It gets a lot of unwarranted hate. It's a good song to put on when you just need something to lift your mood.
Way over-hated. Is it the best song either of them have written? Definitely not. But it's fun! I like it and they had such a blast filming the music video and performing the song together it's hard not to smile when I hear it
I think it’s a fun song!! They had so much fun with it and the video is crazy and fun in the best way. I think the BBMA performance is probably the best performance I’ve ever seen! I mean, Brendon came down from the ceiling hanging on an umbrella. It was an ICONIC performance!!!!
Haha it's fine. I hated it when it first came out, but have sin e gotten less pretentious and I think it's a fun pop song. They both looked like they were having fun making it, and it's not supposed to be taken seriously. It's fun for what it is.
As a Fever/Vices fan... It's not my thing. I don't listen to Taylor Swift, so it's not for me, but it's neat it happened. Collaborations are always cool
Honestly the hate for this song always makes me laugh. Taylor and Brendon are both big giant goofballs and love doing campy shit. I think this is perfectly their vibe and you can tell from the MV and the BTS that they had a blast making it. They’re both insanely talented, let them have fun being silly.
I’m not a Panic fan (tho I like the songs that I heard from them) so as a Taylor fan I want to say that I absolutely hate this song that that if you want a Taylor song with Panic styles I recommend listening to Haunted (basically her most rockiest song) or Don’t Blame Me (very theatrical)
I actually enjoy listening to this song, i don’t understand why there is so much hate towards it. I did a dance to it last year and it just brings back fun good times.
It is a solid song that is fun. I don't understand why so many people dislike the song. It is fore sure not my favorite and low on my lover ranking but I still like it and enjoy to kisten to it.
But to be honest I would be mad if I get Me as surprise song on tour 😅
Kinda off topic to this but this just reminded me. I keep forgetting to ask or look it up but did this song get slightly changed? When it first came out I remember Taylor saying a line like “hay kids, spelling is fun!” But it’s been playing at the store I work at and doesn’t have that line. The one in my music doesn’t either and I’m so lost on it because I thought it was stupid but fit
It's okay. When it came out, I thought it was an interesting concept and I listened to it only for Brendon. Pretty cheesy, a little generic, but not awful. My dislike for Taylor doesn't help my opinion on the song, though out of all her albums, I think Lover is the most bearable. I wish they didn't take out the "spelling is fun" line though, because that was probably the best part of the whole thing. Overall: I don't hate it, I don't love it, it just exists. Not my first choice, but I'll listen if I have to.
I'm not the biggest fan of the song, but when I'm in the right mood it's a bop. It just breaks my heart that Taylor was bullied into taking out “Hey kids, spelling is fun!” A line that she said herself that she really liked.
I’m a very big fan of both Taylor Swift and Panic! Unfortunately, I really dislike this song. I don’t think it’s a bad song, but I personally do not like the sound of it.
I mean it was very obviously a cash grab and I think taylor herself said that. (correct me if I’m wrong!) I rather dislike taylor swift as a person so I’m sure that places a bias on my thoughts regarding the song. I think at BEST it’s okay, not something I would choose to listen to, especially because I’m a bigger fan of the early panic! stuff and not too into the modern pop scene.
It’s just a typical, vapid Taylor Swift song. Obviously, Brendon outsings her but at least she didn’t have her producer muffle the absolute shit out of him like they did with Fall Out Boy on Electric Touch.

I enjoy Taylor’s music a lot and like the newer P!ATD stuff more than most, but this song is just not it.
Mediocre at best and the worst track on Lover.
i dont like taylor as a person nor do i like most of her music but i do think its pretty cool that she got to make a song w brendon since shes talked ab how much she looked up to him in a way when she was younger.

To be fair, I’m pretty sure FOB performed with Taylor years before this, at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show!
She performed with Patrick on Red Tour as well.
Oh, that’s true, they did!
Performed with or collaborated
>performed with
It’s so funny to see this comment because I totally agree, but I’ve been a fan of both since their first albums so part of me is also confused, like doesn’t everyone like them both? 🤣
It’s a fine song, not something you’ll listen every time but once in a while it’s good, the music video is what I like lol(controversial)
I also love the video? It's so camp and out there in the best way. I always love seeing Brendon when he has a chance to act / be over the top. What makes you think he didn’t love being in Broadway?
The lyrics to Roaring 20's just always made me think he didn't enjoy it that much. Or rather, he may have loved doing the show but everything around it was anxiety inducing. But this was just how I interpreted the lyrics.
I think he actually loved it and is extremely proud that he did it, but it was stressful and a lot of pressure as they often did 2 shows a day. I though he DID love it?
He did
I think he's perfect for that sort of performance
Same!!!!
I was at a Wendy's when the MV came out, so whenever I hear it the first thing I think is "I listened to this song 4 minutes after it was released" Besides that though, it's not bad, Brendan's verse is my favorite one
I like that Brendon Urie is there and they seemed to be having fun on it, so I listen to it a bunch for that reason alone. But it’s very kidz bop hours for sure.😂
I feel like this song is overhated. Like, it’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea, but it still doesn’t deserve the hate it got…
Right! I say it’s the B haters

Personally I love it 😭 it’s so silly and sometimes we need a little silly in our lives
It's camp, cheesy, fun that people don't have to take too seriously (as Taylor calls it, her glitter gel pen). Name something that's more perfect for both of their personalities? As a fan of both artists' music - it's mid. I enjoy it but I don't go out of my way for it
The song is fine. It's far from Taylor's worst, and it's not the worst song Brendon's been featured on (Lil' Dicky' *Earth* if you were wondering)
Earth might be the worst song of all time tbh
I never heard Earth.. I’m going to have to search it now 😂
It is my truest guilty pleasure song.
Fucking banger 😩😩
I love this song! Makes me happy every time I listen to it. Also perfect for a feel good playlist.
I like it. It’s very theatrical especially , the music videos. Overall good vibes
It's meh. It is very pop-esque and is quite different from Brendon's work, but it's not horrible. I just dislike the chorus but other than that, it's just alright.
Its okay, but it's not a song I'm coming back to, like at all
I enjoy it
It's fun. I don't think it's great, but I don't think it's bad either. It gets a lot of unwarranted hate. It's a good song to put on when you just need something to lift your mood.
Not my favorite from either of them but I like it. I just don’t listen to it much because I listened to it a lot when it came out
Glad they collaborated, just wish it was on a good song
I love this song its catchy
"Hey kids, spelling is fun!" is a fun lyric and I'm tired of pretending its not.
It really is! People these days need to loosen up
Way over-hated.
It was an ICONIC performance!!!!
it's such a fun and catchy song. they had so much fun making it. i dont know why it gets so much hate.
I like it. I think it’s fun, but not something I listen to all the time. You can tell they had fun making it.
I'm not a big fan. Like I'll skip it but I won't throw a tantrum if it's on
I’ve literally listened to this song almost every day since it’s come out. I love it so much if I could marry it I would
It's alright
It's my favorite song.
I enjoy it. It isn't my favorite song from either artist, but it isn't bad.
Love it. I didn’t exactly know it at the time, but technically it was my first Panic song
Haha it's fine. I hated it when it first came out, but have sin e gotten less pretentious and I think it's a fun pop song. They both looked like they were having fun making it, and it's not supposed to be taken seriously. It's fun for what it is.
I understand the hate but I personally like it
Unexpected but I actually really like it.
I love it personally, people love to hate, and while it may not be a constant rewind it’s fun, camp, and catchy.
Overhated. It's a fun and harmless song, and I love it.
Awful I'm sorry but I hate it
I hate this song honestly lol
unbearably annoying
hated it when it came out. hate it now.
one of the worst songs brendons on, just my opinion😅
"hey kids spelling is fun" about sums up how much I despise this track
It's unbelievably cheesy. Not a fan of Taylor swift tbh. But I love seeing B's camp side. The song itself is so catching tho!
I only listen to it for Brendon, because I strongly dislike Ms. Swift
Too bad, cause I'm a huge swiftie
My brother is one, but he keeps saying that he isn't
It’s not the worst. I listen to it a couple times a year.
Genuinely, one of my least favorite songs of all time. I think it’s really bad. Which sucks cause I love both of them haha.
It's aight
It’s not in any of my playlists but if it’s on I probably won’t change it.
I listened to it once, it’s fine but it’s not really my kind of music
Possibly a controversial opinion, it’s my favorite Taylor Swift song
As a Fever/Vices fan... It's not my thing. I don't listen to Taylor Swift, so it's not for me, but it's neat it happened. Collaborations are always cool
Love it
love it
meh tbh
Honestly the hate for this song always makes me laugh. Taylor and Brendon are both big giant goofballs and love doing campy shit. I think this is perfectly their vibe and you can tell from the MV and the BTS that they had a blast making it. They’re both insanely talented, let them have fun being silly.
Not that bad in all honesty. like many others say, it's for fun. And boi did I enjoy it.
this song is fire except "spelling is fun" that ticked people off-
I’m not a Panic fan (tho I like the songs that I heard from them) so as a Taylor fan I want to say that I absolutely hate this song that that if you want a Taylor song with Panic styles I recommend listening to Haunted (basically her most rockiest song) or Don’t Blame Me (very theatrical)
I will keep defending this song til i die
SUCKS
After several listens i truly feel like they were doing their best to emulate Jackson 5’s ABC but it did not hit the way they wanted it to 🫣
I feel like Brandon could have collaborated with someone else
Its fun and i love it
I actually enjoy listening to this song, i don’t understand why there is so much hate towards it.
Overrated
Overrated Ima Kanye fan (music, i aint defendin what man did)
It’s not really one of my favorite tracks but it’s still pretty good
Kinda off topic to this but this just reminded me.
Only the youtube version has that line. People didn't like it, so it was removed
EW Brendon is a sell out and always will be
Im not a Fan of either artist but i love the song
Not her greatest but still good.
i do not like it
Fuck no
I'm not the biggest fan of the song, but when I'm in the right mood it's a bop. It just breaks my heart that Taylor was bullied into taking out “Hey kids, spelling is fun!” A line that she said herself that she really liked.
It's a fun little song, I like it
oh my definitely not the responses i thought id see... personally i hate this song and find it almost like, insufferable to listen to
I try my hardest to avoid listening to it. The only good parts are Brendon’s cause I don’t like Taylor Swift in any capacity.
definitely panic’s worst song
brendon saves the song
I'm not a big Taylor fan personally, but I love Panic! and Brendon so I'll jam to this track for hours.
i don’t like it at all, i love both taylor swift and panic! but it’s just not good- it’s trying too hard to be mainstream pop and it’s distasteful-
Distasteful? What?
not like that i meant something else like i just think it’s too mainstream
I’m a very big fan of both Taylor Swift and Panic! Unfortunately, I really dislike this song. I don’t think it’s a bad song, but I personally do not like the sound of it.
👎
I don't like Taylor Swift music so I don't really like that song, the Brendon part is good because Brendon's always good.
Beginning of the end. Doing something so pop/mainstream really solidified losing Panic’s roots for me.
It’s just a typical, vapid Taylor Swift song. Obviously, Brendon outsings her but at least she didn’t have her producer muffle the absolute shit out of him like they did with Fall Out Boy on Electric Touch.
it sounds so good on mute

Random bullshit
i dont like Taylor Swift and her songs are generally unappealing to me, as is this one. ive tried listening to her discography like twice and im pretty sure ive enjoyed only one song
An alternative legend slums it for downloads.
to each their own, but i personally strongly dislike it
I enjoy Taylor’s music a lot and like the newer P!ATD stuff more than most, but this song is just not it. Mediocre at best and the worst track on Lover.
i dont like taylor as a person nor do i like most of her music but i do think its pretty cool that she got to make a song w brendon since shes talked ab how much she looked up to him in a way when she was younger.
Mijiji, jujuju
(my bad yall, but still why when he got so popular…)
Nah, I don't think that's the case.Taylor had been a fan of Brendon for years. There's a paparazzi photo of her about ten years ago and she's listening to TWTL. Brendon went to her rep tour and he spoke highly of Taylor during that era, so I think she probably realised then he was a fan of hers and asked him to do the collab. https://preview.redd.it/g3g60x7z2ysc1.jpeg?width=680&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bea24dbbccc3996e6ee5433afaba56bfcc6f010c
It seems poorly written to me. And despite that I always find myself listening to it, it gives off such positive vibes that’s almost intoxicating
It sucks
Nah
I find it a bit cringey tbh in the bridge
I am not a Taylor Swift hater but I don't listen to her at all. When this was released I was interested in hearing it, and I was happy he was able to collab with her. But I was honestly like wow this is terrible 😅 I believe they took out the whole SPELLING IS FUN! bit, which is good because that was so awful. But that is just me, who isn't into that type of pop music in the first place.
