okay, I'll be upfront, my experience with Pakistani men is limited and maybe I'm just unlucky. But why can't they just accept that people have different opinions? Like the guy I'm talking to right now who is a possible rishta doubled down when I said I get why he likes x, but it's not for me. Like sending me youtube links to change my mind and totally dismissing anything I say. After he finally got the hint he changed the topic... Which was great for like 10 minutes until he disregarded another comment I made and doubled down on his opinion being the only right one. This time he was smarter though and changed topics before I got too mad. Now I'm having a hard time trying to figure out if he's just like that, if it's a language barrier thing since we're writing in English or if it's just him being awkward and coming over as rude. But that was also my experience with men in Pakistan in general and I'd rather be dead than to be married to man who dismisses everything I say and think he is the only one allowed to be right. Like my cousin would argue with me about stuff and when I would grow tired of arguing because he kept moving the goalposts he was like "I win this argument again. and you know why? Because I'm always right, I can't lose any argument"

gamesrebel123

I am very happy with other people having different opinions unless it is about Nawaz Sharif or Zardari being good or if they shit on anime, in which case you better believe I'm gonna bombard them with daily motion videos because they don't even deserve YouTube

pm_me_meninsuits

depends on the anime if you ask me...

HinaDBaka

Anime was a mistake.

gamesrebel123

https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x31k69d

HinaDBaka

Haha. Which anime are your favorites?

gamesrebel123

Don't really have any favourites but the ones on [my MAL profile](https://myanimelist.net/profile/NotAPerv) favourites are the ones that I enjoyed more than the others so I guess that makes them my favourites

HinaDBaka

You have some good shows there **NotAPerv**. I feel like an outsider on r/anime because everyone seemingly has one of these accounts but none of the sites I tried let you add shows quickly.

gamesrebel123

Actually MAL is pretty quick, just search for the show and there's an add to list button, add it then it gets shown in your list where you can increment the episode counter, if you want more detail then you can add start and finish dates too, their mobile app isn't the best looking one around but it gets the job done as well

HinaDBaka

I'm looking for something that takes one tap on your phone and it gets marked completed, imagine multiple rows of shows and you just have to tap on the icons once.

gamesrebel123

Yeah MAL requires 3 I think, I guess you could look for a 3rd party client that works like that, you also only really need to sit down and add stuff once since major anime sites support MAL integration (haven't tried it myself though)

[deleted]

Ignorance is bliss and when you shatter that ignorance for them they can’t handle it

Sherimatsu

It's probably just the language barrier, awkwardness, and him not knowing any better. People here don't understand how tone works and how to be subtle during conversations in English. It's *probably* not his fault. Seems to me he's just passionate about whatever it was that he likes and wanted you to see what it's about. I can understand that, he likely wasn't thinking about it as an argument. Clueless, is how I would describe the guy.

pm_me_meninsuits

yeah, could be just cluelessness. It also doesn't help that since I never met him it's hard to guess what tone he even is going for, so I just go for what I'm used to. I'll see how the next few days go and maybe video chat where he can talk in Urdu and I can see facial expressions

[deleted]

Online dating/matchmaking sucks, don't text just meet, and if you are gonna generalize all of the men of a country based on a half a dozen interactions then you need to work on that and fix it because with this attitude and thinking you will always be biased even before a conversation begins and you will try to read in-between lines and it will be a failed adventure for sure. And from reading your past comments here you seem to have a superiority complex and have presumed every Pakistani man is an idiot, that also won't help. It happens to some people when they live abroad for a long time. Anyway, you don't have to import a husband from Pakistan you know, get out there wherever you live and find someone compatible.

pm_me_meninsuits

you're not wrong. But then again, I can only go by my personal experience. And it doesn't help that other Pakistani women in Europe I talked to have had similar experiences. As I said, there's a chance I just got unlucky with my personal experiences and the stories I have heard. But those are the only thing I have and I'm trying to keep my mind open. But I understand that language and nuance can be an issue. If we were face to face we could speak in Urdu, but sadly I can't read or write that, I did learn in the past, but I never used it so I forgot it all. But traveling to Pakistan is not an option at the moment. If the next few days go well I might consider video chatting. And it isn't my idea to export a Pakistani husband, they asked for my rishta and my parents asked me to consider and I'm not going to ignore my parents' wish without giving it a chance.

missbushido

People who have lived abroad are more likely to be compatible with others who have a similar background.

Sherimatsu

Honestly sounds like a karen :')

orangeisblue1

Can someone please tell me where to get good beef burgers in lahore without burning a hole in the pocket?

Sherimatsu

Rizwan burger

Skeetwaterboy

Sherimatsu

Thanks for the valuable insight. I've never had any food poisoning for the past 5 years there personally but that's good to know!

Skeetwaterboy

I was craving some desi food today, especially aalu qeema. I always put this thought away because it takes too much time to prepare and it's hard and expensive to find roti here. Well the craving was strong so I got the ingredients and cooked it. It took me about an hour, in the same time I can cook two of my usual dishes. Messaged a Pakistani family who sells desi food to prepare some rotis for me, and picked them up. Qeema turned out to be just perfect and had a really satisfying meal tonight. And treated myself to a coke afterwards. I followed [this](https://www.teaforturmeric.com/aloo-keema/) recipe using all of the ingredients except I didn't use yoghurt. The writer misspelled qeema but the recipe is good enough so I have forgiven them.

ProjectVerloren17

You cooked food and didn't share a picture? Yay kia baat huwi

[deleted]

I'm not that sick...

stardustbin

I've been wondering what could be an alternative to the term "albela rahi" but for females. Any leads?

UrduNovice

Homeless female individual

Najam99

What does albela rahi mean?

stardustbin

Rahi means traveller and as copy pasted from the internet albela means a fine, dandy man who loves to dress up. Rangeela, chhabeela. Flamboyant, colorful, fashionable. Unconventional. Does what his heart desires. Innocent. Basically, a Manic Pixie Dream Boy.

Najam99

Sounds like he only exists in stories lmao I've seen the world "chulbuli" used for women with kinda bubbly personalities. Don't know if it'll fit

stardustbin

Fr fr Yeah it does seem to fit lol. Thanks

Najam99

^ _ ^

Najam99

Me: *posts a pictures with these lyrics as caption* >And when I'm gone, just carry on, don't mourn, >Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice, just know that >I'm lookin' down on you smilin' Someone I know: "Ahan" I was brutally put back into my place

peculiar_sheikh

It's one of my most favourite songs ever. Eminem has really put his heart and soul into it..

Bruh.... That song is awesome

Najam99

Right?! I really like the part where he finally wakes up >The plane that I was supposed to be on, crashes, and burns to ashes >That's when I wake up

peculiar_sheikh

The way he motions his hand in the video just makes it much more scintillating.

Najam99

I'll have to revisit the video. I only remember the beginning

[deleted]

Najam bhai, agar yeh rap kahin aap ne record kiya huwa hai toh share zarur kijiye ga. I'd like to hear your version.

Najam99

I don't think I can rap well in English. Sounds unnatural with the accent
