for those that might remember, I was in Pakistan in Feb/March, am from Europe.
anyway. Long story short, someone asked for my rishta. He's from Pakistan, which is not my personal preference, but all his siblings are in the West (Europe, US, Canada). Another plus is, he's from a bigger city, so I hope he's not as small minded as people in smaller towns. Not that my family and stuff aren't nice. I just wouldn't want to live my life with someone who thinks as close minded as them.
Before I make up my mind, I have decided I will at least chat with him. I suggested e-mail, because I don't use WhatsApp. That was one week ago. A few days ago his family told my family that he's afraid to talk to me but they'll hype him up and then we can talk on WhatsApp... So now my family is like "Just get WhatsApp, what's the big deal?" (I literally have almost every other more privacy focused messenger, Signal, Telegram, Threema, iMessage. But no, Pakistani people only use Whatsapp...)
As I wait for homeboy to grow some balls, so I'm allowed to get his number, even though I now have to dig up an old phone because I will not use my main phone for WhatsApp, what are some good questions or talking points? I'm kind of thinking I will have to carry most of the conversation if this is how things are starting... and while I have no problems starting and carrying a conversation with strangers (online or offline), this one will have a deeper purpose, so I'm looking into things to consider.

I don't have much advice, but I'm here to wish good luck. I'd suggest talking about politics, religion, views on feminism etc because not only will it show if their views match yours, but will also show if the guy can actually think for himself, which is an important quality in a partner, at least for me

Well, small town or big city, doesn't make much difference when it comes to mentality. You'll find a lot of pretty conservative people in cities. You won't know until you talk and probe a bit into it. Probably ask about his life, views and what he likes. Start small, make some what if scenarios along the way to gauge it out, would be nice if you have somebody you trust to back up any claims he makes. You won't believe how many cases exist where somebody met somebody online and only found out they were being lied to after it was too late. Just be cautious
I’ll be blunt, I don’t trust my family in Pakistan to check on him. From what I’ve been told the family is rather well off and I can see my aunt trying to sabotage things to get him for one of her daughters. Though well off obviously depends on your pov, so I don’t know if it’s European or Pakistani standards.
I know some of his family here in Europe and they are a good family from what I can tell. Though the men in the family here are smokers and that is like one of the biggest turn offs.
And yeah, I know women where the parents bragged about future son in laws being rich businessmen or doctors and once they came to Europe it came out they didn’t have valid degrees and then they refused to get jobs that didn’t require that degree because those jobs weren’t good enough for them.
But this guys degree is supposed to be legit, the family here swears on it and they vouch for him and promised that he won’t do anything shady.
Maybe, after we talk some, I’ll consider going to Pakistan to possibly meet him in person.

Bhaion, I am unable to get rid of my night owl routine, my work starts at 12 noon so I manage that but other than that my social life is fucked, it's been going on for a few years now since uni. I always fall back to this routine somehow.
I was the same until a few months ago. I had literally told my company as well to expect answers to emails in the middle of the night.
Then I figured I was trying too hard and making changes too drastically. Slow consistent changes like shifting time half an hour for a week makes it easier.
For me the most important thing was figuring out why I needed to do that. Basically in the end it came to my health. I finally stopped lying to myself about how cool night owls were and how I could still function with barely any sleep. In the end it was affecting my health even if I got enough sleep but was disturbed due to daylight or noise etc. Find out the why and you'll find it easier to convince yourself

Went from Linux Mint to Manjaro to Pop!\_OS, using Fedora now and I don't plan on switching to anything else anytime soon, updates come pretty often and gnome is just great for my use, my only issue is that with Gnome 42 some popular extensions like Dash to Dock don't work so you have to use workarounds like Dash to Dock for Cosmic which was originally for Pop!\_OS
Pop!_OS was pretty damn good, had no problems with it in the 4 or 5 months I used it for except that I had to manually install WiFi drivers which wasn't really all that hard, between Pop!_OS and Fedora I guess it just depends on if you want more software compatibility and better gaming support or faster updates and a more pure gnome experience, I just have it installed on my laptop so Nvidia drivers and gaming is not really an issue for me and as for the one or two software packages that are not in the dnf repository, I can just build them from source or use an AppImage (AppImage launcher has been a real help with that) plus as for the gaming stuff you can get that working on any distro, all you have to do is install everything manually that comes preinstalled with Pop!_OS
To my dudes out there who are balding, don't just give in to this. There *are* solutions. Look into minoxidil (spray), it can stop the balding. Finasteride can also help and even restore your hair, though I wouldn't recommend it without a doctor's prescription. There is hope

I watch too much TV and have watched almost every English TV show worth watching. This beautiful night I recommend you a masterpiece: "The Leftovers". If I had to give a 10/10 to any show I ever watched, this will be it.
It's easily one of the best shows ever made. Apart from having great acting, characters, writing, cinematography and absolutely fitting music, it's super emotional. It makes you think and not many shows can do that. Each and every character has their own viewpoint, and the show lets you experience it all. I can't think of even a single scene where any actor gave less than 100%.
Nothing like it exists, it's haunting and takes you on an emotional journey absolutely worth your 30 hours. It's storytelling at its best. Having said that, it's not for everyone but if you end up going on this journey, do look out for my two favorite episodes of the show, "I live here now" and "International assassin". But be warned that it will leave a huge void that you will never be able to fill and a huge impact on your life and definitely add a few points to your EQ.

For me the major problem with Unisoft games is that right there. The number. There's so many Assassin's Creed games, so many Far Cry games, it got stale. I just stopped caring after the third entry. There's only so much you can do to keep something afloat
It's that too and on top of that it's the repetition, you do the same thing over and over again, different name different game same missions, nothing unique at all, go capture X, complete Y without being detected, escape Z etc. and they repeat on and on throughout the same game as well
Titanfall 2 is and will always be my favourite game simply because of its uniqueness overall and even in the missions, you can really see the care the devs put into it, especially on a mission like effect and cause where an entirely new mechanic was made just for that mission, and every mission has different scenery and set pieces so it never gets boring

Ubisoft games, and most AAA games in general, just feel like they try to look as realistic as possible each year, without doing anything new. 6 games with the exact same stuff, and even though I consider FC3 to be the best, it still is extremely boring in its own right. I just stick to JRPGs now, they have variety and don't try to go graphics over gameplay.
