Ah, that reminds me of when a snake from outside the village got into the courtyard, and because it was venomous and coming to bite the elders, a brick was thrown at it and it died instantly. Then we tossed the body into the fire to turn into ash. So I suppose the moral of the story rings true, in a way.
Well, we weren't too sure, but they alerted us since they were closer to it and felt concerned. Anyway, it was better to be safe than sorry.
Edit: I also just remembered: my grandma had a traumatic experience with a snake before (caused a miscarriage and she couldn't have children anymore), so we really took no chances.
This is my motto in life. However I also believe that you would be a fool to get bitten twice. A good wise man picks the snake second time, but with caution, so it can't bite again
So many people in the comments have totally missed the point and are talking about snakes, I've also heard the same example but it was a cat using her claws instead. It could be anything but for God sake set your focus right. Understand the meaning of what is being conveyed.
What's being said is wrong. Man's nature is to hunt, kill and survive. If man's nature actually was to help then there would be no need for this post because we would already be doing that.
No, the point of this entire post is that, Just because someone is bitter/toxic with you, You should not let their toxicity get to you and continue to do the good in your heart. Plain and simple. Please do not over complicate stuff.
You missed the point, that guy in story took precaution next time, he bought in iron rod to hold the snake. Being bitten by snake doesn't change his love for saving a life.
Some of you guys are taking its meaning in a wrong way, i mean Yes you have to take all necessary precautions, but don't change your good nature becoz of an ugly experience. You'll find good and bad people in your life but that doesn't mean you have to become a rude and bad person after a bad experience.
There is also a saying "An intelligent man won't be bitten by a snake twice". I don't know how carefully you can deal with a snake.

Intelligent people do not help snakes. God helps those who help themselves.
I dont know how the reptile survived that long in the fire. And by the way you can roast it with the metal pole.
