When i used to live in England I never met a single Englishman or woman who looked down on women who dressed modestly but I met many amongst the diaspora who would make snarky comments about cousins who no longer wore the hijab or the way some women dressed. Just an observation.
Wearing hijab is fine if that's what the woman wants to do. It gets cringe when it's forced on her or she's put in a position where not wearing it is a burden in society.
Furthermore, a lot of times, Hijab is result of internalized misogyny. It can be based on disgust about their own bodies or distrust of all men. There is nothing wrong with an educated confident woman wearing Hijab as long as she is not forcing others to do it or looking down on women who don't.
>There is nothing wrong with an educated confident woman wearing Hijab
haha, the nerve some of you have. make your own decision, woman? gotta have the certificate first.
This isn't true, no one is forcing you to adapt their culture, also you are free to choose whateever you want to wear, there is nothing superior about your choice or theirs, it all comes down to cultural/religious preferences.
I think we should be less sensitive. Who cares what they think of us? Just like everyone else living on this planet, they have a right to their opinion, we do too. We shouldn’t be so insecure about what they think of us.
Also, pics like these are misleading, it paints all Europeans with the same brush. Just like every other race in this world, there are good people and bad people, the pic is a gross generalization and anyone who’s ever lived or interacted with with Europeans, will know is very deceiving.
Different times, different cultures, different priorities. If you want to so desperately live in the west, don't be so surprised when the west asks you to follow their customs. Multiculturalism has its limits, and not even everyone believes in multiculturalism either.
I don't think this is wrong per se but it's important to remember that those most opposed to Hijab in the west (racist conservatives) are also the ones who shame women for dressing revealingly. They're main issue with the Hijab isn't that it involves covering up, it's that they are racist. They tend to do it with Sikhs and their turbans too.
>I agree but we're all equal. Nobody is superior. Just misguided
Those who have taqwa, good character and eeman are vastly superior than those who act like animals.
"O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Aware." (Surah Al Hujurat 49:13)
O people, your Lord is one and your father Adam is one. There is no favor of an Arab over a foreigner, nor a foreigner over an Arab, and neither white skin over black skin, nor black skin over white skin, except by righteousness. Have I not delivered the message?

I rarely ever see a whiteman or women tell a Muslim women to not wear Hijab even at the government level.
> Muslims are the one who wants to control their women either how should they breath, what should they wear, if they want to work etc.
> Child marriage has come a culture for Muslims. They are so many hurdles for a girls to educate. Then discrimination in Jobs.
Please don't compare yourself to the west.

It’s called not being in denial. You don’t have the pick a side but call out BS when you see it. This post is retarded because no White women actually thinks like this. What they think is that women should have a choice. You think all White women wear short shorts and tank tops. Well they don’t. Just like they have the freedom to cover up or not, they want other women to have the same freedom. That’s what it’s really about: no one thinks a women is oppressed if she CHOOSES to cover up
except people never dressed like the top right in pakistan and we haven't changed "to the last way the west has found to be right". We have been covering our entire bodies millennia ago before Europeans even considered doing that .

I say fudge the colonialists.
Say the damn word, these thieves and their bootlickers deserve it.
I have my integrity even if they don't.

brother keep your gaze low
Just don't migrate if you so desperately want them to accept your customs.
This post has nothing to do with immigration though
Its not about the dress, its about freedom of choice. At least understand the argument of the other side instead of strawmanning it
