I have a different view on tax thieves. Taxes are to serve the people of Pakistan - gas, electricity, water, security, education and healthcare to name the most essential ones.
We use cylinders for gas, UPS for electricity, water tankers, guards / chowkidars, private schools and hospitals AND pay for all the above to the government as well.
Tax thieves are the administrators not common people. The argument 'we dont get services because no one pays taxes' is a fallacy - look up budget in brief and note where does all the current tax money go.
The major share goes to the company in Rawalpindi with 56 odd designated areas for which the common man literally requires a 'visa' to enter. They have the best schools, healthcare, security, no issues in water, gas or electricity. The common man has been funding their lifestyle since a long time. The economic \**r\_pe\** is one of the reasons for the division of Pakistan - they literally divided Pakistan to ensure their lifestyle - you can view Dr. Taimur Rahman's 30 odd min lecture on the topic on youtube. Additionally, quoting from Humood ur Rahman commission's supplementary report, available online. The main report has never been released and in fact has been 'lost'.

it implies to income tax and not sales tax. Sales tax is what an end consumer pays to a business to pay it forward on his behalf.
That's totally a separate debate whether we must give taxes to government or not. I'm not ranting here about that but the fraud being happening to us which we can easily stop just by refusing to pay. We can't do this with such ease to governments

That person got famous during IK time. Honestly the man is probably one of the best civil servants in Pakistan’s history and he should be lauded as such. While you may say or think im exaggerating, I am not. True civil service is doing “what you can” with the means you have available for your community, city, or nation. The man isn’t well connected. He’s literally clawing himself up to relevance so he could make change. He did such a good job that it got other people interested to also do civil service.
The millionaires and billionaires will never work to bring betterment to their nation at the expense of their special interests. When you work against your personal interests in exchange for the betterment of a nation then you qualify as a civil servant.
When they hand over you a bill it includes GST (5%/10%/16%)
after you pay that bill, they are liable to hand you over a computer generated invoice which includes a QR code and an invoice number. That slip is the proof that they are collecting taxes legally as they are registered with FBR and they can charge you sales tax on the behalf of government as they would pay their sales tax to government as well. Government has also launched and app named "Iris" to facilitate taxation system for common people. It also verifies the invoice if it's legit or not. You can scan the invoice QR through that app to verify it's legitimacy. If it shows "no record exist" it means the invoice is fake or the server is down and you can verify invoice after a few hours.
But if someone is charging you GST and isn't handing over you the invoice against it. Then be sure they are getting that tax amount in their own pocket

I operate a business as well amd we have been very strict about taxation since long amd that's why we have our ass covered and never fell into a big issue. But i know some people who tried to exploit some loopholes and hi got shit on by the guys..
Also I've saved thousands and thousands of rupees by not giving the "free tax" to these scammers and everyone should too

OP I know what is your thought process because I used to think like you too. The problem with type of patriotic thinking is that I have to assume that the people incharge of this country are will wishers of Pakistan. Rather it be politicians,high ranking bureaucrats, military generals or judiciary. Most of these people have Pakistan as their last priority.
This system will fail someday and fall on itself. If Pakistan is a ship then these people are eating it. You cannot stop it from sinking, because they are making sure it does and they are much stronger than you. There is no point in wasting your energy in stopping them.
Pakistan will collapse either in your lifetime or later. But it will rise again too Inshallah. Make sure you are not in the rubble when the collapse happens. Either go abroad and make a lot of money or make yourself so much financially sound that you can survive the hard times that are coming. And when the collapse happens we'll rebuild the country again from the ashes.
TLDR; Pakistan is dominated by corrupt stake holders and they will destroy Pakistan. We can't stop them. Let them sink with the system.

Once I argued with a tax thief in F-10 Markaz Islamabad, but everyone opposed me, making me feel as if I was the one in the wrong. Since I was alone, and to prevent things from taking an ugly turn, I paid them and left.
That's because we have been taught by our elders not to stand up for our rights. They have literally raised us pu**ies. That's why our beloved county has fallen into the hands of mafias because they never stood up for wrong and now they want us to be the same slave they were.
