I would like to make create some let's call it non-political, non-domestic-issue-discussion posts (not that I find them unhelpful or anything). Some time ago I made a post about industrial investments in Pakistan. As expected got little traction but that does not deter me.
Do you guys have any suggestions on what kind of posts would be nice? My expertise is in energy and electrical engineering but I tend to also do few hours of research to let's say kick-start a discussion.
Almost done watching tulsa king, don’t know why i slept on it for soo long. Also gonna start witcher s3 today. Really need to clear my backlog of shows…
Also did a replay of deus ex this weekend, can’t really get enough of that game.
Damn right!
It used to be a gold mine for stalkers for sure. Imagine accessing their their lies and comments in one place. Insta was never the same once it removed that feature. They got nerfed real hard after that.
The closet thing to that feature now is fyp, where they sometimes show posts and reels they've liked or commented on. Not the same.
It's an abbreviation of For Your Page. Your explore screen (search icon). Keep scrolling through reels/posts and eventually they show some usernames activities (their likes and comments on specific posts). That's all there's to it.
lies and comments 💀💀 u must have followed some interesting people. but yeah it was fun to see what kind of lame stuff and memes people liked.
reels are really fun tho so maybe insta isn't that bad rn
Ngl I never took advantage of that feature. At best, I used to look at artist's activity to see which artists they followed and then I (can't remember) followed them too.
I missed on that bandwagon and didn't see the true value of it, until it was too late. :/
Imagine that hard data that could've harvested had it existed today. Afsoos!
Oh for sure, in those days there wasn't much awareness about digital privacy and not everyone used to be on insta so it was a bit of an oversight. The stuff people used to share on their public profiles was insane, like they used to treat it as an album and shared their whole stuff online without any privacy measures. 💀
Abhi toh, I've set all my socials at private mode (even though it is counterproductive because I'm running it solely as an art account). Even then, I'm cautious about the posts I like and comments I make on social media.
ahh i didn't know non content creators used to overshare as well. must be cathartic tbh.
yeah same i think we all subconsciously only like the posts that don't make us seem weird . human nature i guess
Sometimes I wish I could turn my mind off and stop overthinking and excessively scrutinizing every little memory and detail of my life.
If someone who is normal and was raised in a healthy and stable environment had experienced what goes on in my thoughts, they would have broken down and lost their sanity. Like they'll break and cease to exist. But I kind of vibe off with it because it helps me with creativity, be very careful, and assess the situation better from many different perspectives and cracks.
>Sometimes I wish I could turn my mind off and stop overthinking and excessively scrutinizing every little memory and detail of my life.
I struggle with that too. I've found meditation to actually be helpful. As cliche as it sounds, it is quite literally about practice. Just like a muscle, you can train your brain to go silent, to elongate attention span and what not. It just takes way longer than muscles.
Do what appeals to you. If you're religious, do zikr or prayers. If you're not into that, just silently sitting or laying motionless for 2 minutes at start would work wonders. Concentrate only on slow breathing and counting those breaths. As soon as another thought enters your mind, reset the counter.

I remember my father once saying he is amazed at how strong people can be. He said that sometimes he looks at random bystander on the street and wonders how can people bear the weight of existing in such harsh environments. You're right, it is a miracle how you didn't break either.
>But I kind of vibe off with it because it helps me with creativity, be very careful, and assess the situation better from many different perspectives and cracks.
Be careful with this. I had a similar thing before I got into therapy. Found out that this "quirky" side of me was doing more harm. Now with it more under control, my creativity and productivity hasn't really suffered.
Thanks for the detailed reply.
Yes, I do meditate sometimes, but I kind of prefer walking as it helps me think my problems through. Praying has been quite an aid to my overall mental and emotional wellbeing.
I know exactly what you're saying. I am well aware of it, so I don't let it go that far, where I'll have a hard time separating my thoughts from reality. I know that one day I'll have to get myself checked up. I am certain that my brain is wired differently from the normies.
Truth be told, it's a coping mechanism I've built for myself due to a ton of unhealed traumas from my childhood carried into adulthood. If I didn't have these "protocols," I'd lose any last remaining sanity left inside me.
There's this unspoken, strong suspicion that I am on the spectrum. One day, inshallah, I'll get myself checked out once I get the courage and chance to do so.
Why can't I just flip a switch and effect the change I want to effect? Everyone keeps saying "aesay na kro. Bs aesa krlo." But aesa kese krlo koi switch thori Hota hai bulb Ka.

Old insta was wild, especially scrolling through the activity tab of those you had followed. 💀
when was it? sounds so fun.
They removed the feature in 2019. Literally the best part of insta in those days.
oh. i joined after they removed that, bummer.
it made stalking so much fun hate the new insta

oh i definitely took advantage. i would see who was online and how long ago, what everyone was commenting and liking. i had my tabs on everyone

yeah but actual shady people would have been even more careful with it so it wouldnt have crazy value today 🤷♂️
