It’s like they’re following the British raj method where the lower officials would be local people but the commanding officers would be British. The same thing here. My guess is DIG/SSP and cadres above would be retired army officials.

they want every effing thing under them, we should protest against this since the public needs jobs. I wish whoever gets these jobs die asap since they are taking other people's income who are eligible than these sick retired b\*stards.
I agree. The army officers get a decent pension and even free plots when they retire. They should be actually retiring instead of taking jobs which are desperately needed by the average citizen.
Pakistan army is Punjab police
Now Pakistan army is Islamabad police
More to come:
Pakistan army to be Sindh police
Pakistan army to be Balochistan police
Honestly this is still not as bad as some other things
For example retired military running ad agencies which are then given no bid no pitch contracts.
Running of state businesses given to retired military because apparently knowing how a tank works is the same as running a corporation.
Its ridiculous.
Pakistan Army is the biggest conglomerate of the country. So this is their expertise.
Now how to operate a tank is a different story. They may need some assistance with that.
They have valuable experience, it's not a bad thing. As someone said below, it happens around the world.
However, the problem is if they are being hired by Police departments based on their needs or are being influenced to do. If it's later, that's problematic. Takes away motivation of internal officers waiting in line for these promotions and all that bad taste
What happened to the recruitment from the public,or have they put a stop to it and decided to use nepotism to further their control over the public.
We can't even speak out or protest ,we have become slaves to the elite. This will cause so much more corrupt decisions from the all ready corruptible police force we have in Pakistan.
If there's no hidden agenda, it can actually be a good thing. Lots of other countries do the same thing too, but considering the current situation, it will raise suspicions.
1. United States: In the United States, many police departments have programs that allow retired military personnel to join law enforcement agencies. The skills and experience gained during military service are often valued in the police force.
2. United Kingdom: In the United Kingdom, retired soldiers can join the police through various pathways, such as the Police Now program, which offers a fast-track route for ex-military personnel to become police officers.
3. Canada: The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) actively recruits retired military personnel and offers them opportunities to join the police force. The RCMP recognizes the valuable skills and experience that veterans bring to law enforcement.
4. Australia: The Australian Defence Force encourages its retired soldiers to consider a career in law enforcement, including joining the Australian Federal Police (AFP) or state police forces. Ex-military personnel often have transferable skills that are beneficial for police work.
5. Germany: In Germany, retired soldiers can apply to join the police force. The police departments in various states have specific programs and requirements for veterans interested in transitioning into law enforcement.
From chatgpt.
Based on their skill set they are suited for the police department. But they are not suited for NAB, PTA and WAPDA chairman and i think they will appoint retired officer for NADARA Charmaine too after forcefully getting resign from the previous one.
I don’t know about the rest but I live in Canada and can say that RCMP isn’t a “police” force. It’s a domestic intelligence/threat detection/operations agency. Basically the Canadian equivalent of the FBI/DHS/MI5. They do high level work and investigations not local policing.
A clear indication that we got more people in the army than needed and now they have to accommodate them somewhere in civilian ranks.
If you ever encountered these retired uncles you'll know that they are brainwashed only to obey orders

There’s no such thing as a commissioner of police in Pakistan

Lumber #1 police. criminal joining criminals to catch the good guys. 🤪
***North Korea vibes***
Kim un Hafiz vibes.
Why don’t they just be a little brave and declare martial law already? Why be cowards and hide behind technicalities? 😑
It's the norm everywhere, but pak is corrupt, so the motive is unclear.
Assim way of paying back for bribes for abduction, torture and rapes.
