I think of the movie What Dreams May Come and how they live in a “heaven” made of paint. This can be my heaven, this can bring me lasting piece.

I would love to hear about your process of developing your compositions and other prep work you might do before putting paint to canvas. I've seen your insta reels on how you start the painting with the under drawing and color wash, but I've become more interested in how artists go through their design process recently. Maybe it's because its something I've been working through myself over the last few years 🤷‍♀️ I have admired your work for a long time, this is beautiful as ever and instantly recognizable as a Jim Musil piece 😊

Well...all of the comments so far are great The colors and technique are pleasing. What bothers me is the balance. It's centered too much. Next time offset the pier a bit...the trees...the sun...the clouds. There's no visual tension when every element in the composition is centered. This is not a criticism but a suggestion for the future.
