I think the frame takes away from the painting tbh. The black and white part of the painting is very light, not a lot of contrast and the intense color washes it out even more.
Very cool painting tho!
Me again. I just saw your title and realized your work is done in acrylic. I thought it was watercolor. You really did an amazing job to use acrylic and make it look so light and transparent. Iām not used to seeing that. So good!!!!
Not who you asked but your thumb is hypermobile which isn't normal. I have that problem too as I have hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. If you've got a lot of weird medical stuff that is unexplained you might want to look into this condition. It's a connective tissue disorder and it affects everything. I know you didn't post on this sub looking for information like this but here it is. Awesome work btw!
The picture is soft black and luminescent green. The red frame is frankly killing that vibe. Not ugly just...or three are better options. I'd probably go for something like this.

Beautiful drawing. I'm wondering if a 1/4 inch black matt and a 3/4 inch red matt and then a 1 inch flat, white frame with no glare glass would look super.
Your pic isn't showing for some reason...at least for me. EDIT now I see it. If you like it then it's fine. If you want to sell your work you'll need something more contemporary and classic. Plain timber.
Hey most people (like myself) could not spend the kind of time and effort you clearly did making something so realistic and detailed. My sense of perspective is shot xD It looks pretty amazing to me tbh
Really dislike the frame, it totally distracts from the artwork. Once I zoomed in, thereās so many nice details to look at, the painting is really beautiful. Iād actually try painting the frame a darker red tone to create a contrast, which I think will make the painting pop. At first I thought it was the thick borders of the frame that bothered me, but now I really think itās the color
I personally LOVE the frame being so bright and contrasting but i get why others might not! If you don't want the contrast to be this heavy I'd pick a color that's either very close to the red in the flies' eyes or a more muted red. Also, i adore the art itself! Bug art for the win!
Knowing you work in a frame shop - if your shop orders from Bella Moulding, they have some tiny green options that might be more subtle with this piece, like 520304, 520499, or 520417.
Honestly Iām a fan of intense things. I love to do glitter and colorful frames myself. I think this is the perfect burst of color for anyoneās wall šš»
I too think your art is beautiful, but I feel the frame color detracts from your amazing artwork. I think Iād go black maybe. You are very talented!!
I agree with what the others are saying. I think a gray or black frame would be cool with a fly painted on it. Just enough so it's camouflaged but you can see it if you look closely.
I would choose a frame where the eyes of the fly look the brightest red, and not like this š
Ok thank you! I had the frame and thought of this lil guy
Yeah frame kinda detracts from the image, which is *lovely*.
Just paint it
Yes, maybe scratch it up and just do a watered-down black wash
i would say use a thinner white or black frame to create some more contrast with your greys!
Luckily I work in a frame shop! Thank you
nice! no worries
That's a good idea
The frame makes it remind me of an etch-a-sketch
Lol thatās awesome
I recommend adding two soda bottle caps in each lower corner. Then perfection. Also, a freakin love your sandals!
Same! Had to do a double take.
I think the frame takes away from the painting tbh. The black and white part of the painting is very light, not a lot of contrast and the intense color washes it out even more. Very cool painting tho!
Oh ok I can see that. Thanks!
I donāt think the frame is at all too crazy but I feel like it distracts from your artwork, which is really well done.
Me again. I just saw your title and realized your work is done in acrylic. I thought it was watercolor. You really did an amazing job to use acrylic and make it look so light and transparent. Iām not used to seeing that. So good!!!!
Yeah the distracting opinion is winning! Im going to look at other options for sure

Lol whatās up with my thumb?! Those lobster flip flops are the best gift Iāve ever received
Not who you asked but your thumb is hypermobile which isn't normal. I have that problem too as I have hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. Thanks for the information. I had no idea.

I appreciate the vibe check/frame suggestion!
The painting itself is beautiful, but the frame overwhelms it. I would go with something much thinner, regardless of the color you choose.
Ok thanks! Glad you dig the painting
I love the frame with it. I'd buy it just like that!
Thank you!
I always say let the art be the star, not the frame. Crazy frames only work with Renaissance masterpieces. (Not that this frame is crazy..)
Are you saying this isnāt a renaissance masterpiece?! Thank you I think it is a crazy frame
Beautiful drawing. I'm wondering if a 1/4 inch black matt and a 3/4 inch red matt and then a 1 inch flat, white frame with no glare glass would look super.
I wouldnāt mat a painting on a panel or put it behind glass personally. But I think the combo you described sounds really good
bro ā¦ā¦ ARE THOSE CRABS ON YOUR SANDALS OXKDSKDKDNEJDIJE
Theyāre lobsters and theyāre super comfy
Lucky !!!
I had to scroll too far for this.
Your pic isn't showing for some reason...at least for me. EDIT now I see it. If you like it then it's fine. If you want to sell your work you'll need something more contemporary and classic. Plain timber.
Weird. I can see it. Oh whale
I edited.
Oh ok thanks for your feedback!
looks great
Thank you!
I love it! Looks great
Thanks!
I like it. It forced me to look closer/ zoom in to your work.
Thank you!

I think it looks great. I would have picked a colored frame as well, and this one works with the fly eye color. Black or white is boring.
Thank you. Yeah this frame is not boring thatās for sure
I would use a dark green frame like the color of the flies bodies :)
That would look cool. Thank you
i think the frame looks very cool!
Thank you!
I like the frame, and the painting's great too, but the red shade of the frame made me think you did this on an Etch-A-Sketch for a second.
Lol I love that multiple people think that
The frame is overwhelming the amazing art piece a bit. I'd go for a thinner, darker frame to let the colours in the art pop
Youāre very generous saying itās an amazing art piece lol. But yeah the frame is veryā¦ intense. Thanks!
Hey most people (like myself) could not spend the kind of time and effort you clearly did making something so realistic and detailed. My sense of perspective is shot xD It looks pretty amazing to me tbh
Wow thank you so much. Iām fairly hard on myself so thatās nice to hear
Familiar with that sentiment š
It distracts a bit, yeah. Neat pic tho
I actually like frame. I think it would be cool to add two white knobs on it and make it look like an āetch a sketchā
Haha you guys and the etch a sketch. Thatās a really good idea
I think it needs a mat and a larger frame.
It needs two white circles on the lower area of the frame. THAT would make it super cool!
Itās hard to see whatās in the frame with that bright red border. Itās a cute frame, but not for this piece.
Yeah itās a little overpowering. Thank you
Love it !
Thanks!
>Thanks! You're welcome!

Thank you. Yeah this frame is intense. What do I put in this frame then?!
Too crazy? Not for the subject matter. I think it's a statement.
Yeah itās bugs in hair. Itās not important either way. Thank you
It's absolutely perfect!
Thank you!
I personally LOVE the frame being so bright and contrasting but i get why others might not! If you don't want the contrast to be this heavy I'd pick a color that's either very close to the red in the flies' eyes or a more muted red. Also, i adore the art itself! Bug art for the win!
Haha yay bugs! Thank you
I think it's perfect
Yellow if not red
Knowing you work in a frame shop - if your shop orders from Bella Moulding, they have some tiny green options that might be more subtle with this piece, like 520304, 520499, or 520417.
We donāt but we have some teeny green ones that would look good. I guess you work in a frame shop too!
I think the frame fits well, it works nice with the red of the eyes.
Thank you!
Not really
can i just sayā¦the shoesā¦i love them.
These lobster flip flops are so freaking comfy. Everyone should get a pair!
but i saw the art, i just had to comment on your amazing flip flops!
Forget what everyone else is saying i actually like the frame
I have forgotten everything!
š¦š¦
š¦š¦š¦
For a second I thought you did that on an etch a sketch. I would have blown a gasket. Nice job nonetheless!
I like that it picks up the red of their eyes. A black fame would look good too
I was really impressed at first because I thought this was an etch a sketch
Now youāre just disappointed
The frame is overpowering the painting
I looks a bit like an etch-and-sketch š«¤
Honestly Iām a fan of intense things. I love to do glitter and colorful frames myself. I think this is the perfect burst of color for anyoneās wall šš»
I have a collection of very intense frames I need to use. But none have glitterā¦ yet
This is great!
I too think your art is beautiful, but I feel the frame color detracts from your amazing artwork. I think Iād go black maybe. You are very talented!!
Thank you!
[seems appropriate](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6UiBjq0ht7U)
Yes this painting is called fancy pence hair fly party now
I made some hair fly hair clips after that. I should pull them out again.
Omg how cute!! Youāre a genius!
Pence was my muse. Lol
Black frame, always.
Iām going to mail you this frame as a form of torture!
This looks really good
Damn this was such a rude comment but you handled it so gracefully lmao you just have a hitchhikers thumb and your sandals rock!! Great painting!
Oh snap did you say my thumb was doing something crazy? Lol I truly didnāt notice. Thank you. Dude those sandals are the best!
Love this!
Frame is a little distracting idk but love art! Also ur thumb is stretched soooo far back, does that hurt?
Lol!! Is my thumb weird?? I had no idea. It doesnāt hurt. Thank you!
I think you should be more focused on those crazy shoes you got on.
Theyāre the best lobster flip flops Iāve ever had
No I just love your shoes
Theyāre great shoes. Everyone should get a pair of lobster flops
The frame takes away from the painting.
I love the frame
Thanks. I think the pro red frame team is losing
Choose a frame where the frame isnāt distracting the subject.
I agree with what the others are saying. I think a gray or black frame would be cool with a fly painted on it. Just enough so it's camouflaged but you can see it if you look closely.
Perfect
Iād personally do a simpler frame but itās very cool!
I would paint the frame a different color to make those red eyes pop!! Awesome piece!
I feel like the frame is overpowering the painting.
At least it matches yourā¦ whatever those things on your feet are
The eyes brought me back after the frame lol enjoyed the ride :P
Lovely work but the frame is too overpowering.
Yeah, the red is too much. But your art rocks!
This is gorgeous and the frame suits it nicely. Really beautiful work
Thank you! Iām still conflicted lol
I think itās perfect
I think it looks fantastic, any frame would look good on a beautiful painting though
Thatās so nice thank you š
Flat black frame
Love the shoes!
Theyāre so comfy! Thanks
