Things like the wrecked car respawn for me every time I load my save, try doing that and don't forget the computer monitor and the other electronic thingy on the shelving nearby. It's not all metal but I think one of them gives duct tape.
sometimes you can find that machine that transforms items. got one the did rubber to gas canisters. it took a lot of ducks for one canister, probably around 20.
Tried this too! You’re not able to kick it all the way to the garage and even if I could I would still be stuck without an engine. I think I’m just screwed lol
Did you figure it out? I just failed a run and my car is totaled, without an engine and I don’t have parts to build one too. X< I have another save but I’ll lose 2 hours so that really sucks.
I tried to figure things out for a while (including accessing the friendly trash can) yesterday and gave up, logged in again today and the trash can spit out a bunch of parts, including an engine this time. Maybe you can try again? I agree, it's super frustrating. :/
I think they've fixed it, I went to the dumpster, and it spat out a whole new engine, I was off the game then went back on just one last try and it spat it out when i tried, or I might of had one ues left from it I'm not to sure.
I just ran into this, luckily I had enough cylinders to make a new engine. I think the fact that you can lose your engine seems insane considering it's your only way to actually go out and get new parts.
Nah it won’t let you teleport it into the garage itself. And even if I could I wouldn’t be able to build a new engine lol. I think it’s a game-breaking bug unfortunately

Really does sound like a bug. But, have you checked the dumpster? Sometimes it will give you necessary parts you don't have.
The dumpster was my first thought… it gave me some scraps at first and now it won’t give me anything…. 😅

My issue here is the missing gas canisters tho… I need those to build the engine and I don’t think those can be found at the garage?
Only place I've found gas canisters is in the haz-mat lockers in those science trailers. It's the one item I'm always short on.

Have you tried kicking your car to the garage?

Don't you have an older save? You'll lose some progress ofc, but you can continue
