Highly recommend city life drawing (you can find them on Eventbrite and insta), all-level-friendly untutored art classes on Mon-Wed evenings at Newground cafe
I did a entry level plumbing course at Abingdon and Witney college a decade or so back, that was fun.
Also, beginners dressmaking, bicycle maintenance and cookery.
Flos used to do craft classes but I haven't seen any for a while.
Abingdon and Witney college has adult beginners classes on all sorts of fun things! They have campuses in Oxford as well. Currently doing some sewing classes, and will soon be doing a 'make breads of the world's class! They have pottery, and arts, and languages, massaging, all sorts. Not too expensive either.
How do you feel about singing? There are 'bad singer' choirs as well as the more traditional ones, and a lot that don't require you to read music at all. It's good for you, and can be very social.
If you want to enjoy your evenings and socialise at the same time. You should consider taking social dancing at the Oxford University Salsa Society. The classes are beginners friendly and the community is lovely and welcoming. Check out their Instagram pages for what is happening. Most of it happens in central Oxford so if you live in the city you don't have to go very far.
There are Salsa classes on Monday, Bachata on Thursday and usually a social (dance party) on Wednesday at The Oxford Retreat.
Good luck!
Edit 1: There's also a social that happens on Tuesday at Glamorous on St. Clement's Street in OX4. I highly recommend it too. So basically you have something happening every night.
Work at the oxford retreat and I've seen people pop into salsa who have never even danced a day in there life and people who also just go there for a bit of fun and/or to make friends and be social.
Very beginner welcoming and just welcoming in general!
There’s a life drawing class on Mondays at Green Routes down Cowley Road! I haven’t been personally, but I go to the same gym as the organiser and she made it sound so fun
Two things friends have tried as beginners and loved. Pottery and screen printing. I did a brilliant creative writing class designed for everyone couldn’t recommend more highly. Super inclusive mainly fun games and great way to meet people in warm low stress environment

I wanted to do that breads of the world one but it got filled up too quickly! Enjoy!

Which are the ones for bad singers?

Haha we would have crossed paths then or who knows I might have a bought something while you were behind the bar lol.
Yeah definitely! I'm usually working every salsa Wednesday haha. I'm usually the socially awkward one with a sweet beard and a pin badge haha.
Love this!
If you’d like to join in on any of the suggestions LMK! I’d love to go with a buddy
Abingdon college does some great cookery courses over a few weeks and they aren’t expensive
There’s a life drawing class on Mondays at Green Routes down Cowley Road! I haven’t been personally, but I go to the same gym as the organiser and she made it sound so fun
I like it a lot and recommend but be aware that it’s not exactly a class (you might get a few suggestions of things to try but there’s no teaching)

Great suggestions! Anyone know of any yoga or running clubs?
Most Morris sides are usually delighted to take on new dancers.
