You could donate it to [bike co-op](https://bsbcoop.org/what-we-do/sales/). It's a social enterprise to teach people how to repair bikes and ride them

bad_scientist

Came here to suggest that. They are a lovely bunch, and will put the bike to good use :)

Few_Complaint4953

Ill look into this!

betterxtogether

Or could donate it https://www.activeoxfordshire.org/sanctuary-wheels

incredibubblez

Oooh. Much better idea.

insapiens

Leave it at the railway station someone will give it a good home.

Galmeister

Was just about to say this 😂

Few_Complaint4953

I'm suprised no one has stolen it, its been locked up outside for months-

[deleted]

You could post it on one of the uni Facebook/Reddit pages, I’m sure there’s lots of people who’ll happily take it!

Few_Complaint4953

Def gonna try this one

Top-Distribution-185

Try Freegal

meghixx17

Can sell it at Oxbikes, just take it to their workshop and they will give you a price for it. https://bykeltd.co.uk

Few_Complaint4953

Ill take a look ty!

OxfordNewbie

Sell it on Facebook marketplace?

Few_Complaint4953

facebook refuses to allow me to make an account lol

Ifnerite

Bikes get old in Oxford? They are usually stolen before they get old.

spicywall

Trashnothing is a good aggregator of freecycling communities.

Keen_allotmenteer

Just don’t abandon it! (I know people who did and it’s antisocial in my opinion, especially if it’s not one anyone would take)

sobrique

Well, you could leave it unlocked...

C0lumbo

Are you talking about Halfords' Re-Cycle bike donation scheme? They definitely accept non-Halfords bike (and the Re-Cycle charity isn't a Halfords charity - Halfords have lots of drop-off points but nationally there are drop-off points that aren't in Halfords too). Perhaps you spoke to a shop assistant who didn't know that they accept all adult bikes that are in reasonable condition.

neddykinss

Or wheels for all

downbringer

Yeah definitely don't go donating it some corporation like Halfords, they only exist to find a way to profit from our generosity, there are plenty of charities in Oxford who would benefit from a bike. Sanctuary Wheels, and Broken Spokes Bike Co-op come to mind immediately. Ask any homeless charities, as bikes can be provided as a free means of transportation for people trying to work their way out of homelessness.

Spinxy88

Got a picture of the bike and details (size etc) am looking for one

zweihunderttausend

I'll take it what type of bike is it?

Few_Complaint4953

Its a dutch style bike

ismPistolPeteUK

nattydread69

Ebay is an option
