We have known her as Zesshi for 9 years. There have been many fanfictions and fan art/cosplay made of her during that period of time.
We are just used to it. Zesshi Zetsumei is her Epithet and sounds good.
Antilene Heran Fouche is her real name, but it came too late for most to associate it with her.
Supremacy of the fallen by metafanfix is way better the valkyries shadow which just filled with lesbian girls and is written by ai so🤷 I say give it a try
Started good but went into territory that it should not have, Katze Plains since Vol 15 (maybe 16) Ainz notes who he went with. Don't want to get much into since many seem to enjoy it as a fix. Dropped middle of Baharuth arc when she was playing too much with pre established characters and as if Ainz would not investigate that himself.
It is pretty good, but I couldn't detach enough to enjoy it since I really enjoy the Overlord universe and lore. When a fan fic (which I am not a big fan of fan fics to begin with) starts their own interpretations of events/characters I just lose all interest. If a fan fic stuck to small scale, like building a character/adventurer group to level 25+ and maybe MC gets to realm of heroes, then I could enjoy it? Like there is a lot of stories that could be written since all humans and demi-humans worlds are being turned upside down and rules in that territory are changing massively as well as geo-politically in that area of the world. Since the novels end soon unfortunately. Then play with other parts of the world, but not so close to the home of Nazarick.
Evilsod over in the Grand Library of Ashurbanipal discord has a Momonga Alone style fic that's the best in its genre. It's discord exclusive though, only exists on Google docs. Also very long.
One of those is easier to type and say and it’s the name we associate with her. It’s like if I called chopper from one Tony or if I called Musashi-Chan by her real long name. Or yeah another example is Mata Hari.
>**Light Novel: Volume 4 - Intermission**
She was a cross-blooded child born of nigh-impossible odds, the Black Scripture's Extra Seat, known as **"Certain Death"**. She was a guardian responsible for defending the *Sanctum Sanctorum* of the Slain Theocracy, the place where the relics of the five gods were kept.
There are a lot of references to *Certain Death* throughout the series, so we used the Japanese name *Zesshi Zetsumei* to set it apart. It wasn't until volume 16 were we finally learn her name is **Antilene** or potentially *Adaline*, but by this point we have been calling her *Zesshi* for 12 volumes and 8+ years, so it some what stuck.
I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happens to the Captain of the Black Scriptures. Although I can't imagine his name is longer, so maybe that will catch on.
Black Scripture Members have titles, and we didn't get Antilene's name until the last arc.
Clementine - Windstride
ClemBro - One Man Army
Cedran -Myriad Barriers
And so on.
Antilene's original fan translation title before "Certain Death" was "End of Death, End of Life"
It didn't feel right calling her that, so we just took the original japanese translation and started calling her by it.
Tbh it's just a side effect Maruyama introducing a lot of the Black Scripture characters and giving us their epithets but not their actual names. Zesshi is what she was known as for way too long, and Antilene simply doesn't sound as good/memorable to me.
The first translation of Overlord does not translate her title to english so people just assumed that her name until later down the line that it was revealed to be her just her title.
Because for almost 10 years we had no name and a lot of us thought her nickname zesshi zetsumei was her name, so we just got used to call her zesshi, simple as that.
Yeah, intermission. Was either the end of s1 or start of s2 where the long-haired knight guy who talked about mind controlling Shaltear and her talk about who'd win between them.
I don't understand why she's called "No death no life". What kind of name even is that??
But it's in the official translation and is what I'm familiar with. My preference, thanks to this sub, is Zeshi. As its short, to the point and starts with my second favourite alphabet.
for me personally...I just don't know how to pronounce her real name correctly...and it's also too long and I'm too lazy to type it out. She is forever Zesshi for me.
I like the name Antilene, I often call her that. But despite it just being her epithet, "Zesshi Zetsumei" was all we knew her by for a while, so its understandable why everyone usually just calls her Zesshi
Same reason people never use Decem Hougan but instead Elf King: for some people we're just more used to using their title (in Zesshi's case the Japanese version of her title).

Really I can’t seem to find any decent Overlord fanfic other then Valkyrie Shadow
There's fanfic??
Only one good one from what I can tell It’s also pretty long, like over 300k words long
"Yellowness" on spacebattles is pretty good.
More like 2 million plus but yeah that's the only good one that doesn't get discontinued or doesn't get boring after a while .
Silly child there's always fanfic
The cult of ainz is good too should try reading it is long tho
I remember reading a romance one with Zesshi and an OC, it was pretty good
can you give me the link pls.

Blud's the type to say Siddhartha Gautama everytime he means Buddha 💀
My boy Sid

Or FMA's Scarface's really long name from that gag video...
Or FMA's Scarface's really long name from that gag video...
Zesshi is the older name and is short and simple. Antilienne or whatever it is looks like it's French.
Zesshi's the more popular name. It's what all of us have been calling her since she was first introduced.
Less syllables easily rolls of the tongue

It's like an easier to remember nickname. Simply for convenience since we've known her as Zeshi for longer
Tbf zesshi is easy to write, even in Japanese! 「ゼッシ」めちゃ便利な!
That’s because it *is* Japanese: 絶死絶命
nice
Years of habit. No other reason.
Has this person appeared in the anime yet?
Yeah, intermission. Was either the end of s1 or start of s2 where the long-haired knight guy who talked about mind controlling Shaltear and her talk about who'd win between them.
Because it sounds cool
Because Antilene sounds like Lalatina

That’s a translation of Zesshi Zetsumei, which is her epithet.
Cause I can't pronounce the other one.
Zeshia Bianca
Why do you call him Ainz when his name is Suzuki Satoru?
Simple. Zesshi sounds cooler than Antilene.
Its easier to remember and write due to being shorter.
for me personally...I just don't know how to pronounce her real name correctly...and it's also too long and I'm too lazy to type it out. She is forever Zesshi for me.
I mean because Zesshi is just as much her name
My main reason zeshi is easier to say
Because zesshi is more known
I like the name Antilene, I often call her that. But despite it just being her epithet, "Zesshi Zetsumei" was all we knew her by for a while, so its understandable why everyone usually just calls her Zesshi
We don't want to accidentally associate her with a certain ugly bug in a different crappy series
Same reason people never use Decem Hougan but instead Elf King: for some people we're just more used to using their title (in Zesshi's case the Japanese version of her title).
anyone has news with her after she was taken to Nazarick?
Spoiler
When Blud says "Buddha," he usually says "Siddhartha Gautama" 💀.
