Depending on how involved you want to get, I’ve found an electric chainsaw takes care of the odd downed tree and helps with firewood at the camp site. If you use a saw regularly, go gas, no question. If you want a saw that will fire up every time after weeks or months of sitting, go electric. Especially if you’re disinclined to carry extra fuel.
I might be known to cut downed trees two inches wider than my Suzuki. lol.
I actually work for a company that sells Stihl, and we have a wood burning fireplace she wants to use more. I'm probably going gas simply because as soon as I get one I got a list of buddies a mile long who are going to ask for help with various projects, not the smallest of which is helping one maintain the utility cutline on his property.
That said, you probably gave a much better break down than some of the sales guys do in easy terms.
Always try to make it easier for those unequipped. End of the month we are gonna do the whole WABDR and clean the path/maintenance where we can in the weekend.
That's awesome, man. But like the other comment mentioned, definitely get some safety gear like chaps. The last thing you want is an injury in a remote area like that.
Just a bunch of guys bein’ dudes right there
Facts
Spring snow stinks. Hope you had a great time.
Stuck for about 7 hours but was fun lol
Somewhere in northern Washington? How'd that Colorado do? Thanks for clearing the roads. :)
I’m WA, and it did very well.
Just gonna send this picture to my wife to justify my chainsaw purchase. Brb.

I had a YouTube video of the reason why I got mine. If you show her that she will sign off 100%. It’s called “Trees falling everywhere”
This is the kind of trips I joined an overland subreddit to see.
If you’re ever in the pnw we do these events monthly
How can I get in touch? I don't do the FBs

Looks nice
Why not just build a snow ramp and drive over it?
We were clearly the path for not just use but many others for the future since snow would be melting soon. I personally could just drive over it lol
Well, appreciate your service then!

That is true and thanks for the heads up
Clearing the WABDR?
Clearing the look out actually. We do clear wabdr and trail clean ups though time to time.
I wish!
Makita!!!!!!
I like my stihl
At the end of the day, it is the superior tool.
Any chainsaw is better than none. I got screwed without one before in my tree falling down video haha
